This 5 star review is meant for Mr.Jole.
I arrived and instantly asked for a supervisor. I may have came across frustrated. He was patient and understanding about my mother's tax situation.
Mr. Jole was more helpful than his supervisor. He ended up submitting the forms to the IRS for us.
Thanks Mr. Jole!

If you get sent to Mr. Landon, ask for another person immediately. This guy has the people skills of a pet rock.

I've spoken to 8 IRS employees in the past 2 days, including an in person appointment at this location. They were completely useless and rude. I learned nothing from them that I didn't already know from an hour of google searches. They wasted a colossal amount of my time and insinuated that I was the fraudster who stole my identity after I had verified my information and despite the fact that I had 3 forms of identification on me.Somehow the guy I had an appointment with thought it was super funny that my return and my identity had been stolen, because he was smiling and chuckling while telling me more or less 'yeaaahhh you're effed'.. when I asked over and over again, what should I do? (Besides the theft affidavit) what other steps can I take? What paperwork do you guys need to investigate and then approve my real return (another kicker is that the fraudsters literally misspelled my name)? ....Well the IRS experts totally had my back! Just kidding of course. He gave me zero help, and didn't answer my questions.I left my appointment less educated than when I came in. So glad I worked all year to pay these 8 morons a salary, only for them to mock my situation and tell me that both they and the police basically aren't going to do anything.Absolutely useless, worthless, inefficient, and predatory agency. I know 2 people who went through the same situation I'm in and literally just gave up because it was so difficult and demoralizing trying to fight with the IRS. You know, fight them just trying to get them to do their job.The IRS prefers to punish law abiding tax payers who are the victims of a crime, rather than actually perform their function. Anything so that they can piss around in an air conditioned cubicle on a government salary, finding the financial decimation of someone supposedly in their care, amusing.

A friendly staff patiently researched my case and agreed with my explanation. They couldn't solve my problem because someone else was already working on it. So I just have to wait.

You will definitely have to go through security, but all the guards are pretty laid back. The IRS office will actually be on the basement level. One story down.Very clean, smells nice, open floor plan. You will walk by a cafeteria and Cafe on your way to the IRS.Additionally the bathrooms in the basement and first two floors are under construction until mid-march. You will have to go up to the third floor

I had the pleasure of going to the IRS building in Pdx recently... I know, pleasure and IRS in the same sentence, who'd of thunk it? But the man who helped me was, courteous, considerate, compassionate, charitable, cordial, and civil. And that is just the letter "C".Honestly I found myself dreading the day I'd have to clear up my tax situation and Mr.Joles put my fears and dread to rest. He explained everything about my perticular tax problems, gave solid advice on how to tackle those problems then sent me on my way.Thank you Mr.Joles, Thank you very much!Sincerely Benet S.

The IRS was not crowded. It took around a 10 mins of wait time. The person who attended was very helpful and answered all our queries with utmost sincerity. It was overall a smooth experience.

I've had nothing but good interactions with the Agents here. Our US Tax Code may be a stupid mess but that's the fault of crooks in Congress and the super-rich people and corporate lobbyists who own them.

Had the extremely unfortunate/awkward/and tasteless experience of meeting an employee named ‘Mr. Jole’ at this office. The list of innapropriate statements and personal questions is quite lengthy. ‘I would have never thought that was your mother. Where do you live mom? You don’t have to tell me but where do you live’ ‘well I don’t know what’s going on with you today but I guess it’s none of my business’ ‘are you sure you two are related? Your mom is just so…easygoing’ ‘is ok if I poke a little fun at her mom?’ and when I left he decided to yell my name several times to tell me ‘it’s important to stay positive in life you so don’t end up back here’. As a woman in her mid 30s I certainly didn’t appreciate being placated, nor the extremelyUnprofessional personal questions about our relationship to one another orwhere she lives. Annoying and condescending person who really should not be representing a government office.

I was helped by Brain, he is why I changed my review, he was super helpful and kind to me and another person he helped while I was there, he told me how to get a hold of the IRS over the phone if I need an appointment in the future, and I was able to avoid making an appointment to resolve my issues. The lady who does the phones is a lair, and told me the man who previously did her job for years was incorrect, which that man is super lovely and I appreciate him a lot. And tried to tell me the banks arent use for direct deposit. I got her to admit that wasnt true but she still didnt give me the information I was asking for. She answered the phone very rudely, and took her bad mood out on my when I called her out for being dishonest and rude. She called me rude after talking over me, and super hypercritical. Would rate the phone system 1 star, I wish there were more poeple like Brain at the IRS that actually care for poeple. And the only reason its still 5 stars.
