Lady was nice but i asked for layers and she did not give me layers she only trimmed my hair and was busy speaking to the lady next to me. Charged too much just for a trim.

I debated on whether I should share this information. But after days of thinking about the service we received on a Sunday, in November, I decided to share my families experience. For years we have had portraits taken at JC pennies. I understand after Covid it is hard to find good help. We were helped by a young woman who had trouble writing and speaking clearly she was doing her best. What we found most upsetting and unprofessional was her appearance and hygiene. I will not return in the future for family photos. The quality was rushed and we felt the photographer had no connection to the final outcome. The price was a lot higher than I have ever paid. No concern current money issues.

My husband bought a fine jewelry watch at a Penny's in Spokane. He's been looking for a new watch, and really wanted one for a wedding he was officiating. Fast forward 3 weeks later, and the coating on the metal band has rubbed off in places. This is a $200 watch. He wore it to work, not even every day, for less than 2 weeks. We went to this Penny's in Washington Square to return it. We had the receipt and original box. The first lady who helped us said sure, no problem, let's return it. Then she needed a manager because we purchased it from a different Penny's, but still said it was no problem. Then another lady came out and said we couldn't return it. She then called another lady who presented us with a pamphlet on their fine jewelry and watch return policy saying watches must be returned in original condition. Upon purchase of the watch, we were never informed of this return policy. We were never given this pamphlet or any information regarding returns. I could understand if we had the watch for months and months, if there were other signs of abuse or heavy wear, or we were passed the return window, but we were not. He literally wore the watch not even a dozen times, and we didn't even own it for more than a month. As I was dealing with all of this, my husband was calling the Penny's we bought it from in Spokane. His call went all the way up to the store manager. They apologized that we weren't given any information on their fine jewelry and watch return policy, said it was their fault, and would have no problem returning the watch. As nice as they were, we obviously weren't going to drive back to Spokane to return this watch. By this time, I was back and forth with the third person who came out to "help" us. She was rude, and I got the impression that she thought we were trying to scam them, or pull something on them. I get it. The return policy is the return policy. However, I do believe that a store should stand by their products. This is not acceptable for a $200 watch. The way we were treated is exactly why department stores are dying. I've been shopping at Penny's since before the days of the Sweet Sale. If you know, you know. But this was the last nail in the coffin for me.

I have found a hidden gem!! I didn't know jcpenney had a salon.I have been going to this jcpenney salon at Washington Square mall for several years. Do to my schedule, I have seen a bunch of stylists at their salon Denise, Amvy, Corina,Oliver and Cynthia and as of recent I just seen Christal and Rachel. Every appointment has been amazing and happy with my services . The manager Jenny Mae is very perfessional , always happy and smiling, and runs a very clean salon. A great manager truly shows and reflects on the stylist and how sweet and professional everyone is. The most important is you can be yourself and not be judged. I always look forward to my next appt !Services: Blowouts

As an associate visiting another store location I expected more in the way of customer service. The two times I entered the store I was never greeted. When I made a purchase both times I was never asked for my phone number to get rewards. Compared to this location and the one in Tacoma I'm grateful I work in the Tacoma location. We greet all of our customers as they enter, wish them a good day as they exit, always have a good attitude and ask for a phone number at the beginning of the transaction. I only go to the Washington Square location when I'm in the area but dread it every time for the reasons stated

Oliver is amazing! They helped me transform my long brown (previously bleached/permed) hair into a super cute ice queen (read platinum blonde) bob. My hair can sometimes be stubborn and not want to accept the bleach but Oliver just redoes that area so that it won’t be darker than everywhere else! 11/10 would recommend!Services: Hairstyling

Oliver was the best hairstylist I have ever had. The process took 8 hours because of how much hair I had and how much I wanted done, he did it with a smile and was so professional. Very unprofessional. I went in for a wash and cut. After the haircut my hair was drenched from the wash and he was getting ready to have me leave without blow drying my hair. Very odd.The salon area also looks very dirty and unkept.Service: Haircut
