I had a nice experience with the sales associates but after leaving the store with my purchase, I noticed makeup on my just purchased tan-colored Citizens for Humanity slacks. I immediately went back to the store and the associate used an alcohol-based wipe on my designer jeans to take out the stain. After drying it left a 5x5 inch permanent stain on the pant leg! Nothing will take out. This is a professional make-up company and the employee had no knowledge of what she was doing.

Shoutout Emily!!!? this was my first time purchasing any MAC products, Emily has so much knowledge and expertise, she was also so kind and conversational, it was such an amazing experience :) she spent so much time helping me find the perfect product/shade and answering my many questions. I struggle with cystic acne and Emily had so much knowledge on how to help me find the right product for my sensitive skin. I’m so so so happy with my purchase, thanks Emily☺️

I normally don't write reviews for cosmetic stores, but Heidi?? I had such a pleasant time with her in MAC, I felt obliged to write a review in hopes she'd see this.
Heidi was friendly, knowledgeable, and a PRO. She was so skilled in her application when shade matching me. Her product suggestions were helpful and accurate. I loved her energy! I left with products I will genuinely use as the shades compliment me well based off of her recommendations.

Normally I like shopping here when I visit 23rd street but this time there was a new associate who would not stop hounding me. Usually they're chatty and friendly and I like that but this visit I could not browse without being constantly interrupted. I didn't make it past the first counter when I gave up and left. She zeroed right in on me to the point I suspect maybe she thought I was a shoplifter. And that's insulting. I've loved MAC since the 90's but if I can't shop here without being harassed I'll shop for it at Ulta where they LET you browse. Or I just don't strike them as someone who needs to be "helped" persistently.

Heidi slayed the assignment!!! I was so stressed being featured in a video. I am middle age now, and needed an age appropriate look for filming. I wanted drama, but keep it daytime. Heidi consulted with me, efficiently applied my entire face, and was on top of her other customers needs as well. She picked up my vibe & nailed it!!! Thank you, Heidi! I got so many compliments!I feel I got %100 the M•A•C experience. The store is so clean, and just like a M•A•C Cosmetics store should look. I’m so very relieved that I have found my MUA here in Portland! Yay!!!

Lavin was so incredibly helpful. I usually find shopping for make up to be really intimidating and overwhelming. Lavin was really helpful and made it a really comfortable and fun shopping experience!

Helpful staff, but unsanitary makeup swatching. In lieu of providing new, disposable applicators, here you have the distinct privilege of putting products directly on your body! Hard pass.

I got my makeup done here yesterday by Lavin and it was absolutely amazing. I was going to a black tie wedding and wanted to look a little glam. I got compliments all night, people saying I literally looked like a hollywood actress. The makeup stayed on perfectly allllll night too, I was amazed. The entire experience was really great — she explained everything she was doing, gave me great tips and new information, and made me feel comfortable the whole time.

I've been to this store twice, and had wonderful experiences both times - with totally different staff members. The people there are artists with years of experience. They can help you do outrageous art on your face, or subtle business casual. They never tried to sell me products that I didn't need, and I walked out with great education and the perfect colors. Seriously, I didn't know what I didn't know. They took the time to show me how to get the effects I wanted. It was fun, and I was treated with gentleness, and great ideas. So - I just had to write a review!

Use to be cool. MAC stopped recycling your used lipsticks for one free one. Hmmmm.. so we lost hundreds( some $$$) of dollars w/ make up expiring due to COVID. NOW a a month later MAC takes away program that helps Mother Earth & gives u a reason 2 shop & buy more there. Horrible Marketing plan. Plenty of competitors same quality product. Plus McKenzie friendly at first yet fails to call or text when product u want arrives in the store. Back to Nordstrom, sorry I doubted you Nordys for a single merchandiser. Good part is a security guard is there in case u feel unsafe in the wealthiest neighborhood in Portland Oregon, ( nice eye candy he is)Duh.

I came into the N.W. 23 rd store in Portland a few days ago. I have to say I had THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE! The associate Laven gave me her undivided attention in helping me pick out the items and colors I needed (and her great personality). Great customer service is still alive and well at this beautiful Mac store. I highly recommend it!
