Prices r getting high. Unless it's on clearance or sale. You can Not return clearance items. Even if u get home n it's bad. Buyer beware. Some items have no price tags. Ask before buying. A 1 quart wax container of Pacifica organic clear turkey broth rang up as $6.45! The vegetable, beef, n chicken broths are $2.99-$3.99. I returned it minutes later. Mngr. Insisted the price was displayed. No. It was Not displayed anywhere. Right by the front door area. Holiday.

This is my favorite grocery store. They do not sell inorganic produce/ products. Everything is organic and they even do not sell "organic" produce coated with chemical products either. Always very friendly when I come in, and great selection of quality food at actually decent prices. Also have the largest supplement section of any food store. I Love Natural grocers!!

Specific assortment of products. A tad pricey, but great local access. Evens out in the end.

I don't know what's up with this store but I've experienced disparate, more negative treatment here than my lighter complexioned girlfriend (we are both Black). When we went to visit a few weeks back for some grocery items for a picnic date, we had an employee repeatedly stare at us, frown her face, audibly shrug, and follow us around multiple aisles [at that point, we honestly felt that we were being racially profiled because we witnessed this same employee show customer service (smiling, asking them if they needed help, etc.) to white patrons]. Multiple times, she helped others in front of us then made an effort to walk past us and roll her eyes.At checkout, the cashier was a man and repeatedly smiled at my girlfriend but when I made eye contact with him, he averted his eyes and looked smug. I didn't want to gaslight myself so I asked my girlfriend if she noticed and she informed me that she did and that we should find another grocer or only patronize via online pick-up order. I agreed but, at this point, I'll go back and you'll see me and be uncomfortable and forced to provide basic customer service (check my items out and answer my grocery questions). *Expressing racist sentiments doesn't change who I am or my confidence in the skin I'm in and the people I come from and surely doesn't erase Black joy, Black love, and the originality of Black culture that is frequently poorly appropriated.*I understand Oregon is a very white state in terms of racial demographics but I still find this treatment deeply unsettling given that we are in an area that once had a more sustained Black population that has since dwindled in the past 10-15 years because of gentrification. Gentrification and then continued profiling of the Black people who remain in or are new to the area is insidious and weird.*Racism on MLK Jr Blvd (where the store is located) is a special kind of irony hallmark of gentrification.*As for the store's selection, it's decent and reminiscent of a Sprout's grocery store that you'd find in other states. I was leaning toward putting one star because of the treatment here and put a second because of the produce selection.

So bummed, I shop here and support this we’ve growing business very often. I love their integrity with the foods they offer…but what about integrity with the community? I purchased some bison and much to my sadness when at home realized the packaging had been sliced open. Because I tried to exchange the bison past the allotted 30 days they said nope. I get it…kinda…but I also get that they could have exchanged it. Our community of healthy eaters have poured in our money to make what Natural Grocers is today. My invitation to all who read this is to shop at the smaller co-op’s and farmer markets where community holds more valuable than here. Also! Go over your receipt- numerous times have the products been marked different in price than what they ring up as.

Natural grocers is like Whole Foods/new seasons but without the ridiculous price points those stores charge. That being said I'm sure not everything is the least expensive it can be but I appreciate their selection of vegetarian/vegan/dietary options without costing a fortune. The store is always clean and the people working are kind and the overall vibe is very relaxed. they also have a wide variety of supplements and artisan bath/skin/beauty products. they are a no bag store so make sure to bring your own. If you're in a pinch they offer cardboard boxes or reusable bags for purchase. 10/10 for me !

I'm plugging the Natural Grocers store on MLK and NE Alberta for product selection over New Seasons and Whole Paycheck - and I believe it's a Black owned business. Crazy large bodycare section, flavors of products you didn't know existed, great produce, not crowded. I went in last night and got wowed. Grassfed organic yogurt in beautiful glass containers? Yes, I'm *that* Portlander. ? I was excited to see more Weleda products sold than anywhere else. Ancient Grain GF pizza that is my favorite and discontinued elsewhere. Multiple flavors of the dairy free gf cheezecakes. Insanely large supplements section. It takes a bit to navigate a very different store and layout. Update: I wish they'd restock things before running out.

Excellent prices on organic foods, including produce, dairy, grains, and meats. Huge supplement selection. Good wine selection tucked away in the corner. Spacious and spartan—quite a contrast from New Seasons and Whole Foods. Natural Grocers is all about quality food and low prices. Sometimes you will have to wait a few minutes in line to check out but it's worth it. They have no disposable bags so bring reusable bags, or you can take cardboard boxes from the cashier.
