The 6 different dishes we had were all bland and way too oily, especially the salads . The steak I had was stringy and difficult to cut with my steak knife. Also it is strange to have a cheese course with no bread or crackers. It didn't help that the server was rude. She cleared away plates without a word, as I was eating, nearly colliding with my fork ! When I asked that our entrees be delivered at the same time she seemed irritated and assured me they would be,but of course they weren’t. We won’t be returning.

Came in after spending 7 weeks in the woods eating self made stews out of a pot. (I’m a really good cook so it’s better than that sounds)This was my first meal back in civilization and my wife and I chose their 10 coarse chefs choice. WE CHOSE WISELY.Sat at their bar facing the kitchen and I couldn’t have had a better dining experience. Very recommended.

we did the chefs choice for food and wine. they brought us out about 10 dishes. 1 was good. the rest ranged from mediocre to gross. they brought us 3 glasses of wine; all 3 were sweet. it was honesty the most disappointing meal i’ve ever had, and we spent over $200 on it. not really sure what they were going for.the service and atmosphere were really good though!

Delicious food, wonderful service. I see a lot of comments here about this place being pricy so I was pleasantly surprised by our $55 bill (for 2 adults). We both are happily satiated. We ordered the bread, butter, salami plate, pate, lamb leg, mushroom, and chocolate moose, all in small plates. Wish the lamb chunk to be bigger (largely because it’s so delicious) but I’d say the other dishes are all decently sized for their price. Will definitely come back for more.

Really had a lovely time at a solo dinner here. Love the way you order food, so you can get a meal exactly with what you want. I am not a wine drinker - I know, I know it's a wine bar! - and they didn't make me feel bad or weird for just ordering food. Perfect ambiance for a rainy dark evening. Very friendly staff. I'd come here all the time if I lived nearby.

Both the staff and food were the worst experience I have had at a Portland restaurant. The wine had pieces of cork in it, and when I asked about it, the waitress brought me a new glass but charged us for both glasses. In addition, each of the dishes were cold by the time they arrived at the table. Highly disappointing experience!

This is one of top 5 for breakfast. The menu changes often, and every dish is exquisite. The bread alone keeps me coming back.Vegetarian options: Celery root confit, and the pickled eggplant were extraordinary.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is all one level with not steps to enter.

Wonderful place. Probably my favorite in Portland. We choose the option for the kitchen to pick and course out our food and I’m so glad we did. Can’t recommend it enough. Great wine selection too.

The dishes are kinda spendy, but of course they are, the food is gourmet! And yet the atmosphere isn't pompous. It's somewhere between casual & upscale.

Ate here twice. Food was lacking in consistency (execution was off both times; we had undercooked grains, and the other time the potatoes), menu lacks a bit of cohesion. Service was above average. Atmosphere was welcoming. Wine menu was off the charts. I recommend for the wine selection and some of the smaller plates to pair with a good bottle.Overall, there's stiff competition at this spots price point ~$60 for a meal/drink and I think you could do better.

We were recommended this restaurant and we were so impressed. We dined on a Saturday at about 5:30pm. Parking: street parking. We were lucky enough to find a spot a block away on the same street. Location: perfectly situated amongst a row of coffee shops, wine bar etc. charming street that you can safely walk around. We were greeted the moment we walked into the cozy restaurant with high ceiling and were given the option of inside or outside. We grab an inside table and menu plus water were brought to us fairly quickly. We needed a slight instruction but got it and started to write our orders. We went with a variety of items. All were very decently priced. Our waitress knew her menu but also knew her wine very well. My white wine was such a perfect pair with everything i ate. Food came out about 5-7mins after we ordered. Each dish was just amazing in flavor and texture. We were so happy with everything and by the end of dinner, not one plate had a piece of crumbs left of it. Everything is made when you order and as part of the menu rotates due to what they have delivered, we were extremely happy with our selections. Restaurant: such a nice and warm ambiance. When they were cooking fish, you can slightly smell it, like home cooking and you were sitting by the kitchen. Service: amazing staff. They all worked together to get us drinks, food and always checking on us. I do not give too many 5 stars but I had a wonderful dinner experience and this restaurant is my recommendation when you're in Portland.

Food was great. The large selection of specials gives great variety. The massive wine list means you can find whatever you are looking
