For me to take time to write a review, let alone a horrible one, this should tell you how we felt leaving the store. We just left shopping and I can tell you the checkout process was the worst experience we have ever had. I’ve been shopping at this location since it’s been open and seeing how miserable the employees continue to be over the years get old and as a customer being treated poorly due to someone having “a bad day” also gets old. It’s time to reevaluate your employees who have been there forever and bring back an actual work ethic, people who know how to provide great customer service, and people who actually want to work and be there. It seems that this store keeps people around for years because of fear of possible later issues but it’s time to start understanding the neglect customers have been receiving for so long and how tired we are at being snapped at and mistreated. The man at the meat department was the only one that knew how to handle customers and provided really great service, the rest need to be trained or let go.I sadly think it’s time to start shopping somewhere else.

It is a very nice and amazing store. The parking lot is ample and I was able to get some fresh veg and fruits. This store is clean and the staff is friendly. I would love to be back soon

It's the usual high rated New Seasons score for nice, helpful employees and beautiful fruit and veg department, great allergy-free foods and super cute gift section!

I was out shopping today with my dear mother, and as we were getting a salad my mom unfortunately slipped and fell down hard against their concrete floors. Her head slammed against it and she twisted her ankle as well. The floor was very wet due to a leaking drink bin. An employee watched the whole thing happen, stood there, said nothing. All he asked was if he should get some one to clean up the salad that flew everywhere. (Well duh!) There was absolutely no concern for my mom given from him, nor the 3 other employees who came over with cleaning supplies. We respectfully explained this situation to the manager (who happened to come and clean the mess up), and he just sat there in silence and offered no condolences. We eventually just left and payed for our food. It is absurd that they don’t even have the decency to ask if my mother WAS OKAY. Terrible terrible service for the so called “friendliest store”.

Great neighborhood store with excellent staff. Varieties of food choices abound. Pricey but values and quality match the cost.

Their motto about being the friendliest market does not hold true when it comes to common decency from employees. There is definitely an issue with the management!

Always friendly staff, great selection of products. Their bakery items are amazing and fresh, and some are even gluten-free.

I really liked this upscale grocery store. Upon entering, there is a security guard, but he was friendly and greeting us warmly. The store itself is well laid-out, and when we visited, it wasn't that busy. I was impressed with the wider aisles and how well lit the store was. And it was super clean, and bright. I saw a lot of gourmet fare on the shelves (products, and awesome ready-to-eat meals and dishes in the deli areas). I really liked their gift/home accessory/thatchkie area, too. Usually in grocery stores, they have grossly overpriced small hostess gifts and home gadgets and accessories, but here I found a lot of really nice Portland gifts for friends and the prices, I thought, were super reasonable. They had, for example, great coasters with colorfully painted scenes of Portland on them. Very artsy and well-made. Under $10 each. And they had a decent sized gift section, too. I was impressed. I found some specialty rice here that I needed for a recipe (I couldn't find this rice in Safeway or the other stores my kid took me too). Oh, and I heard SO much about this "Portland ketchup" (organic and supposedly delicious, with a different artsy scene on their labels), that I got 6 bottles of it here (for me, and to give as gifts for my foodie friends and neighbors back home in Vancouver, BC). I had earlier gotten a few bottles at Kitchen Caboodle for $6.99 each, but here at New Seasons, the bottles were on sale for $4.99 each. Nice! While looking at the ketchup labels, my kid accidentally dropped a glass bottle of salad dressing and, of course, it totally shattered on the floor, causing a mess. (I'm the one who usually creates a spill in the stores. Perhaps it's a genetic flaw in our family's gene pool lol). Anyhow, the two guys who came immediately to clean it up were so nice and understanding (we were really embarrassed and apologetic, but we were assured that this kind of thing happens all the time), and seriously, they cleaned up all the spilled dressing and all the glass shards in literally 2 minutes flat. It was amazing. Like a race car at a pit stop, you blinked and it was all done. Anyhow, this was a terrific store, and although I didn't really wanted all the aisles to inspect all their products and all their prices, I could see right away that they carry lots of specialty ingredients you may not find at other grocery stores, and they have excellent sale prices. And their employees were all nice.

Slowly but surely the prepared foods went away and the prices went up. Less focus on quality and ethics while pricing themselves out of reach of the average shopper. Too bad, it was nice while it lasted but I can no longer support them in good conscience, even if my paycheck could (but it can't).

I have no doubt that most of the people who work here are lovely, but the overall experience of shopping is pretty bad. From a price perspective, it's egregiously expensive. Aside from specialty products, things you can get at any store are routinely 50-100% more expensive than the standard prices. Second, the folks manning the registers often seem put out that they have to be there. Lines will get longer and longer and no one shows up to assist. It can be very frustrating. I guess it also bugs me that they're slogan is "The friendliest store in town," and it's just so far from that. I am hard pressed to find a less friendly experience than at New Seasons.
