It was a great experience working with the manager at the downtown Alder location. Very understanding, very generous. The facility is clean and safe. I would choose NW Self Storage anyday...over the competition.

In my experience, this storage facility has consistently fallen short of basic expectations. First, the pricing feels unreasonably high for the level of service provided. While I expected to pay a fair rate, the charges climbed over time without any noticeable improvement in conditions or communication.
The biggest ongoing frustration has been the elevator, which has been chronically out of service during multiple visits. For a storage facility, reliable access is essential, and repeatedly hauling items up and down stairs is both inconvenient and unsafe. It’s unreasonable to expect customers to accommodate such a persistent issue.
Customer service has also been disappointing. During several interactions, staff members came across as dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of offering solutions or even basic courtesy, they often seemed irritated by simple questions or concerns. As a paying customer, I expected at least a level of professionalism and respect that, in my experience, was not provided.
Overall, I cannot recommend this storage location based on the issues I encountered. Between the high prices, ongoing maintenance problems, and consistently rude customer service, my experience has been far from satisfactory. I hope the management chooses to address these problems for future customers.

This place is by far the worst storage unit ever they said that I went in the units and cut locks which is absolutely untrue and won't even refund me for my month's worth of rent do yourself a favor do not go to this place for a storage unit

I had a great experience renting a unit here. Deonte was very helpful and informative. He tailored my agreement to fit my situation and it was pretty fast. Also the location is really convenient in my situation. Very reasonable rates.

Showed up on a Friday at 11:30 with rental truck and help to move from one unit to another—no one here. Elevator not working emergency line—no one answered. Says office opens at 10am. Came back on Monday after 10 and guess what—nobody there again. We needed someone there to verify location of the new unit. This place is dirty, poorly managed and its only redeeming value is the price. Good luck

Considering the prices, I wasn't expecting much. I can happy say I was very pleasantly surprised. The online process was easy, my first check-in was great and Deonte made sure I had what I needed to get things into my unit and on my way. Extra points that the building is really tidy! Thats very unusual for storage.

Deonte was great to work with and very helpful getting me set up with a new unit.
It's an much older facility, so lighting and amenities are not what you'd get at a new Public Storage, for example. However, the pricing is by far the most affordable I've found in Portland. Plenty of street parking and a large loading dock.

Excellent experience, especially in person with Deonte(sp?). Hooked me up with a sweet first floor unit and definitely the lowest rate I could find in town.
