When we first started the manager here was awesome! After almost a year of storing with them the newer manager told us that a rule of theirs was in theease, so I read it and the lease didn't mention it so I called and asked him to show me where it was in the lease and if it wasn't in their then I would continue doing what I was doing(which was wrapping Christmas presents with my door closed as that feels safer)and he absolutely freaked out, told me instead he was going to shut down my lease with them and if I didn't like it I could find a different storage. When we tried talking to him in person he continued to scream at us and cuss at us. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! They then gave us a move out date and stated we would not be charged again, and then they charged my card anyway. Very frustrated with their service! Sad cause other then this it was a decent storage. If I could give negative stars I would.

Reserved unit online and completed check in online, it said it didn't have to go to office at all just straight to my unit. Apparently the manager at this location has an issue with everything being done without her because she locked me out until I went in to show her my ID. Which was already verified during the move in process online.
On top of that the manager has claimed there is no corporate office to which we can call about issues with rent doubling with no notice or the new monthly bill being last month's bill plus the last fee from last month.

Dakota was great to work with. We needed extra time to clean out the unit and the extra day was great to have to make sure and sweep it out clean so thank you for such great customer service. We will look for you if we need help the next time. Made the experience so much easier. YOU ROCK!!!! Keep up the good work you’re an asset to that company for sure.

I've been with them since 2023 and the rent as went from $45 to $80. Kinda crazy if you ask me. They didn't even notify me of the price increase.

This place went downhill in the last six months. My unit was broken into in October and items stolen. Incident occurred during hours that someone was supposed to be on site and apparently there is no video in the region where my unit is. The company offered no apology or explanation for the breach of onsite security.
The facility frequently smells of urine and garbage is littered throughout. It is evident people were renting the cheap units and using them as a 'home' during business hours.
The facility claimed to be 'Climate Controlled' but it is stiflingly hot in some months and uncomfortably freezing in others.
While the climate control issue was a problem from the beginning, it was tolerated with an eye-roll because everything else was totally acceptable when I began renting. Very clean, secure, onsite management (Isaiah) who was available and legitimately cared about the quality of the building.
Now Northwest Self Storage is gross and occasionally even feels unsafe. It is maintained with the feel of the business being simply a line item on a larger company's investment portfolio. Nobody gives a shit about operation.

This place was awful and staff was not helpful at all!! They bugged me about locking in my unit as so they wouldnt rent to someone else so i get it 2 days early , was suppose to be outside - wasnt ! Then movers were late so got to storage on saturday at 430 pm found the unit , was in side around long hall then the staff sees us and says hello - then says Im closing in 20 min . I told him id already had to rent truck for extra day and I had movers there to help unload , he said no , im suppose to get everyone out by 5 pm, then in leaving my son and i were locked in stairwell and had to leave using emergency door - setting off alarm! So I had to rent a different storage was from uhaul in milwaukie that place gets 5 stars!!! Staff was very helpful at the uhaul storage not this place! Plus uhaul gives 1st month free- !!
Now I have to see how difficult it will be for them to refund my money???

Best customer service. Isaiah is always kind and very understanding. He has worked with me even when he doesn't have to. He goes above and beyond, he is what customer service is all about. I don't live to this facility anymore so getting to this is very hard at the moment but I stay because of the customer service

Office was closed before the posted hours, so I couldn't move in. Staff was on-site. In fact, one of them directed me towards the office knowing it was closed.
This turned out to be a good thing...the security gate at the entrance is broken and just being left open during business hours. Completely unacceptable.
The after hours customer service was helpful and issued me a refund without any hassle. I give them 5 stars.

This storage unit has been nothing but pain. I'll start with the worst to the inconvenient
1 - my storage unit was broken into, the facilities called me once and didn't leave a message, didn't text, didn't email nothing. The only reason I learned it was broken into was because I went to the unit and there was a different lock on it. On my account there was a note that said that I had left it without a lock but when I talked to the facility manager he said that it was broken into. about $4k worth of things were stolen. The insurance they force you to pay for is only for $2k, I'll have to use my home/renters to cover the rest hopefully.
2- in reference to the theft, I couldn't get the date and time for my police report so I had to make some assumptions. it's very hard to get a hold of people if you need to talk to them.
3 - the carts are not always available, I feel like there aren't enough, maybe like 4 or 5 carts? also there is very limited parking inside the storage area so if you go you might not be able to actually get into the building. It can also be sketchy in side, there is definitely someone who lives/hangs in his storage unit on my level. I've also had a person a few times block the entire hall to move things around in their unit, they are clearly a reseller.
4 - they have increased the rent the 3rd month by $20, which is still affordable but it felt like a bait and switch
5 - Moving in was more complicated than they tell you, I went in with the code etc on my move in date, which is all they said I had to do via the email but that was not, I had to go when the office was open (which is questionable) to be allowed in
All in all my 1 star is mainly from the break-in and the TERRIBLE response and continued headache that was. if that didn't happen I would probably give it 3 stars? Not the best place, not the safest, not the cheapest. Maybe keep looking?
