“My favorite garden center! Over the years I've picked up some 4-in-1 fruit trees that thrive! My kids love them. Also great for veggies and supplies. Staff are so helpful too. This is my happy place ?”
“This is my go-to for potting soil, I regularly come in for. This place has so many plants and containers and there's often new ones coming in and it's just a cute and cozy shop too.”
“Fantastic nursery and a truly special corner of the world. There’s clearly so much care put into preservation here, not just for native plants but for tending the land itself.
Excellent prices on native species, and they’ve also created a beautiful and educational walking path along a lagoon on the property.
Everyone was incredibly welcoming. Anya the dog is a total sweetheart, and they all were so kind an understanding when one of my pups wasn’t at her friendliest.
Highly recommend. A Sauvie Island jewel. Visits are by appointment. I came home with plants ... and ... a clearer sense of what’s possible when land is tended with care.”
“Cute little nursery with a nice assortment of plants and trinkets! The owner was also extremely friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer questions.
I don't have picture of the three plants I got (Swedish Ivy, Cryptanthus Bivittatus, and a Tiger Kitten Begonia), but it's been a couple weeks and they're still doing great! Owner was even gracious enough to give me a small discount on one of his older plants that I picked up, since it was my birthday. Will definitely be back and would recommend for anyone looking for a reputable and affordable place to find a new houseplant friend!”
“Staff at Tony's have always been friendly and knowledgeable. I like the laid back but efficient atmosphere and always go here first when looking for plants and info.”
“This is the best Feed & Seed in Portland. The store is clean, organized and easy to navigate. The staff are friendly, helpful and fun. They have everything you need for a full scale farm or a backyard turkey spa. The owner’s commitment to keeping the “Old Timey” aesthetic of this historic landmark, while accommodating the hustle of modern times, is exemplary. Well played, LFS!”
“I have ordered delivery mulch and for soil from Boring Bark. The quality is very good - the compost was warm and steaming, which means there are lots of beneficial microbes. It is expected to find bits of debris in composted soil, but we got 12 yards of the 7-way bled and only found one or two very small scraps of plastic. The soil overall was consistent, loamy, and my seeds sprouted pretty easily. There were a few golf-ball sized clumps of bark dust, but they were easily broken up with a shovel and mixed in. We'll see how next year's growing season goes to really put it to the test!
Each time I call, I've connected with Kat (not sure the spelling) and she's very helpful and efficient, while still warm and friendly. Both times, I've been able to get either next-day delivery or 2 day. I've heard they can even do same-day sometimes. The truck driver who delivered the soil was very professional and quick. He had advice on where to put the soil so we could scoop it easily & cleared everything with us beforehand. For example, giving us a warning that there's aways a small chance that a very heavy truck with that much soil could crack our new concrete.
It really could not have been easier. Would recommend!”
“Little Baja is amazing!! Thomas and Jordan were very helpful and did all the heavy lifting for me. Thomas even helped me put all the pots in my car at the end. Thank yall so so much. I will definitely be telling all my friends and family about this place!!”
“Very accommodating and lots of custom choice's. Found the bird bath of my dreams that I couldn't find anywhere else, they even paint it for you for a few. Very kind”
“I am not very good with plants or other living things so I went in there to check it out since I always pass by it and live very close. I had just done some spring cleaning and got rid of unused items so I had space. I wanted to reward myself so I walked into the store. The staff was super friendly and helpful so I ended up buying a bunch of stuff to put on my window sill. She gave lots of helpful hints. Please do check it out.”
“I love Potted in Portland! They do the plant services for my office in Downtown Portland and all the plants are very cared for and look great at all times! All the employees are very personable and great to be around as well.I've also bout plants from them for my personal life and I really liked their selection and the fact that they are always willing to answer my questions.”
“They have a great selection of beautiful flowers here! Perfect place to pick up exclusive flowers ? The Oriental lily’s were divine. Walked down Hawthorne and was completed repeatedly!”
“Overall, it was a lovely experience, and I had fun, but I was unaware of the pricing beforehand. We received this class as a gift and were told we would get a small terrarium included in the class booking price and could pay to upgrade to something larger. That was not the case... It may be because the management switched between when it was booked and now, but it was more than I had wanted to pay out of pocket. I enjoyed learning the history and science behind terrariums and the hands-on assistance. Still, it was 250 dollars for two people (not including the class price). Fewer plant options were available compared to what was pictured online when my partner and I attended. It was a fun experience, but I wish I had been warned beforehand on how much it would cost us. By going through the class, you get a $25 discount, but that is already applied to the prices of the terrarium glasses you can choose from. I would have rather thrifted some mason jars from Goodwill to use than spend 100 + dollars on a small container. At least they offer a lifetime no-fault policy, so if something goes wrong, you can take it in, and they can assist you in getting it back on track. TLDR; I would go if you are interested, but be aware of the pricing!”
“Solabee saved the day. I called first thing in the morning needing a same day delivery to the hospital for my niece. they were so kind & attentive to ask what I had in mind and then they created a beautiful arrangement. The colors were soft, warm, & uplifting, with a perfect mix of blooms & greenery that felt elegant but cheerful. It instantly brightened her hospital room & lifted her spirits. Truly above and beyond service and talent. Highly recommend Solabee for all your floral arrangement needs”
“Good place to get your rocks, stones, and gravel that you cant find at home depot or lowes, great customer service and very knowledgeable with time to give to customers without rushing you. FYI small place no regular bathrooms just a porta potty.#positivegoodlife”
“Working with Pistils was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. My husband and I set out to do a mid-scale landscaping project and ended up stranded and in a law suit. Pistils stepped in and agreed to remedy the damage. Not only did they extremely skillfully and professionally right the wrong, but they managed to create something much more incredible, functional and beautiful than we could have managed. They were on site almost daily for about a year and we had not one bad interaction. In fact, they felt like good friends by the end. When we called attention to something, they were immediately attentive. Everything they did was with the utmost care, skill and craft. Cannot recommend more highly. This job became very large scale and expensive, and they not only saved our landscape but probably also our marriage! The wall below was all hand split and stacked. We love you Pistils!!”
“This plant store is epic! No joke- my favorite one in Portland, and l have lived here and shopped for plants for a very long time. They have super unique and mature varieties (lots of monsteras), and it just is incredibly beautiful inside. Totally reccomend, super cool!”
“A very cool place to get bamboo plants, bamboo products, and bamboo building materials. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. The plant I bought was very healthy, and cost about half as much as the same plant at Portland Nursery.”
“These owners are so generous. All of their statues and fountains are packed in a straw like material made of wood. It is called wood Wool. They donate all of this wood Wool to The Oregon Zoo, which it is used for beddings and enrichment for chimps, orangutans, lions, tigers ,polar bears and black bears. On the picture it is the straw like ball in the bottom right corner. Bob, the orangutan is enjoying it as the keepers had hid some treats in it for him”
“The store is really fire but the employees are even better. I came in needing only a handful of growing medium. I was expecting to buy a whole bag, but when I explained my situation to the guys up front, they hooked me up. They had a small coco cube in the back that had damaged packaging. Gave it to me at no cost. Thank you guys keep up the great work”
“The absolute best community resource I've used. We just moved to Lents and were a bit strapped for cash after buying a house, and this tool library was (and still is) a life saver. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. I hope this place stays here forever.”

“We have moved over 20 miles further out away from Portland and yet we still travel to this wonderful produce market, and quite frankly, a whole lot of other things that this wonderful place provides. Today, in the middle of January, we walked into the market and it was relatively quiet for a Thursday morning and everything was displayed so attractively and not a distressed or rotten piece of produce anywhere! Everything so tidy and everything so fresh looking. This place never lets me down. Their workers are always busy grooming and tidying up produce row. They had pickling cucumbers! They had beautiful heads of endive that will make a great Caesar salad! The broccoli was absolutely pristine. I wanted some fruit but I'm so skeptical about ripeness and yet the wife grabbed a perfect pineapple and by Sunday it's going to be so nice and juicy. These folks pay attention to the small details. Nobody wants bruised apples. Nobody wants tired and old produce. Everything here is wonderful. I even had to grab a loaf of cranberry orange bread as they have added more baked goods to entice you as you wait in line. I highly recommend growers outlet for their continued dedication and effort in providing extremely high quality produce.”
“I haven't bought anything here yet. I just came in to learn about the different safety helmet options for the team and the requirements. The person at the desk was incredibly helpful last week when I came in! I definitely am coming back to purchase when ready.”
“This is one of the best nurseries in Portland! What a great hidden gem. The staff was extremely knowledgable and helpful. They have so many plant options there, and well priced. Highly recommend.”
“I mostly use the garden center, so this review is only for that part of the store. The potted plants here are always healthy and ready for whatever you have in mind. Put them in the ground, in pots, raised beds .... as long as you've done the prep - they're gonna make it. Speaking of prep, they have every variation of miracle grow, but you can reject that hegemony and buy something that isn't mostly chemicals. Organic soil, compost and mulch are available in large quantities. There are organic and specialty fertilizers in out of the way spots. The worm casings are inside, and you can also find fish fertilizer tucked on a shelf. You'll have to walk past a mile of poisons to get there. Seriously. Maybe try some companion gardening to deal with pests instead of nuking everything. And don't get me going on that planet killing weed killer. A tiny bit of scrolling through your pocket library of Alexandria will give you an idea of which plants need more or less light, and if you want an easier way, most of the pots also have qr codes you can scan for specific details on care. Oh, and pots! Lots and lots of pots. The inexpensive plastic ones look just as nice as the others, and they won't break your back to move them once they are full of soil and beautiful growing things. Trellises, wire, bricks, wine barrels, everything. The check out in the garden center is quick and the folks who work there are super nice. Walking away with a cart full of plants and soil is like making an investment in happiness and health. What a great way to find a happy spot in a mean old world.”
“Love this shop! Pets on Broadway was my childhood pet shop, and I've been coming back as an adult. I recently was told about Plants on Broadway (I hadn't known of it) & fell in love! Plants are well cared for, most on the harder to find/rare side. Don't be surprised at the prices though, it's not wallyworld lol Super cute stickers, pins, posters, magnets, and lots of other plant related things. All sorts of soils and all that you'd think of and more. Go check em out, you won't regret it!!”
“This is my favorite plant shop ever. They have the cutest plants, a great selection of gifts and some other cute finds as well. The staff who work here are excellent!”
“The place rips. Tool sharpening, feed for chickens, animal bedding, and a very knowledgeable owner. Also, very cute and chill shop dog. Hours are limited and stock can run out (call ahead if you need something that day), but it's a small local shop. My go-to for chicken stuff, and my girls love the feed options here. 10/10”
“My wife and I did the terrarium building course and we loved it! We had Judy as our instructor and she was wonderful in teaching us the history and how to make our terrariums beautiful. We enjoyed the flexibility of being able to build whatever we wanted, and would recommend it to everyone!”
“Tim was very responsive and came out to help us with an issue we were having with a gas fire pit that we installed as part of a project two years ago (water had gotten in it). No charge for the visit. Thank you Tim!!!”
