I have fallen in love with my natural hair again because of Hunter Mae at this salon! Everyone I have interacted with here has been incredibly kind, friendly, and caring. I value high-quality work education about my wants and how to get them met as curly hair can easily be damaged. Hunter Mae is attentive to my hair needs, what I want done, and has never pressured me to go a different route or pay more money for unnecessary services. The salon is always clean when I’m there and look forward to my appointments here! I will always recommend Hunter Mae and most everyone here at the salon.

Good service but not many appointments available. Also the prices were very high. The salon was clean and well kept but very busy.

I have been a client of Paramount Salon since it opened and I can confidently say it’s the best salon in Portland. From the moment I walk in I am greeted with warmth and professionalism. The atmosphere is warm and modern and immediately puts you at ease.
All of the stylists are excellent. My stylist is Samantha. She is the owner and she has been my stylist for years. She takes the time to listen to what I want and then provides insightful suggestions based on my hair type and lifestyle ( I work in a hospital and live in scrubs). The products are high quality ( Kerastase and Oribe) and leave my hair healthy and beautiful. Samantha is the best at haircuts, coloring and styling. Very few stylists are good at all three of these.
I highly recommend Samantha and Paramount Salon to anyone who is looking for an exceptional experience and wants to look their very best.

Heather Mae is attentive, extremely knowledgeable and listens to what I want. Salon in general is very team oriented/supportive of the of all the stylists. I’m going back!

It’s a nice salon and has affordable pricing but I got one of THE WORST haircut I’ve ever received here. Julie cut my hair and even though she was very nice, she didn’t follow anything I showed her and left me with a wonky mullet that I can’t do anything with. I also wear my mask religiously everywhere and was in great health prior to the cut and during, but decided to make an exception and not wear one for this haircut, which I deeply regretted. While having her cut my hair and breathe very close to my face for a couple hours (yep I could smell her breath throughout the whole cut), I thought everything would be fine…Lo and behold, I tested positive for covid a day later and was upset that I was given a bad haircut and now covid. Won’t be coming back here again as their clientele seem to be more mature women which explains why my request for more current hair trends was not met. If you go here, WEAR A MASK b/c the staff did not care to thoroughly monitor themselves to avoid getting customers sick.

For the record, I test myself WEEKLY as a safeguard. I was in perfect health prior to this appointment and on the day of, as originally stated. After attending my appointment at your salon, and noticing Julie sniffling through my entire haircut, I started to feel unwell b/c I chose to be maskless for my appointment as stated was allowed by your salon. Within an hour of me getting home, I started to feel unwell. As I also stated, I wear my mask anywhere and everywhere religiously but chose to make an exception for my hair appointment, which was the only time I have gone unmasked in any business location. I strongly feel that I contacted covid at your salon regardless of what minor precautions you all take - which, by what I witnessed, was only quickly wiping down chairs. This is not sufficient precaution for caring for your customers. Air ventilation is also ideal. I wish you the best but the gaslighting you’re apparently trying to do by your response is not appreciated or taken. It is what it is and you should learn what taking accountability is. I wish you well and you’re sure as heck right, that I won’t ever go back to your salon due to your lack of care for my experience or the safety of customers’ health. Learn to listen to customers instead of trying to be combative. That’s what professionalism is.

Wonderful experience with very kind people. My stylist Daelyn is very sweet and a master of long cuts. It's one of my favorite cuts of all time and I can't wait to come back for a professional experience again 10/10

Phenomenal haircut experience with Daelyn. A self-prescribed "perfectionist," she cut 8 inches off my hair and gave me a stylish/timeless/low maintenance style I've gotten rave reviews on. Beautiful setting, high quality products being used, incredibly friendly service. The hairdresser will wear a mask if you are - which I really appreciated. Highly recommend the salon and stylist, Daelyn, specifically.

Hunter Mae is a hair wizard! She’s so talented and so good at understanding exactly what my hair goals are! I love that she will also suggest what she thinks will look best with my skin tone and hair. Not only is she so knowledgeable but she’s just a wonderful human altogether and I always look forward to spending time with her!I’ve had my hair done by a handful of hair stylists and Hunter Mae is hands down the best in Oregon! I will never go to anyone else ever again! She’s my gal! You will not be disappointed with her. I also love how before she starts she goes over pricing, so you know exactly how much it will cost before you get started, no surprise fees at the end of your appointment. Extremely professional!

I stumbled across this salon through instagram. I immediately was draw to Hunter Mae! I loved her lived in, natural approach. When I booked an appointment she was not only thorough and thoughtful but she educated me on the process and walked me through the steps. I have a lot of hair and I am usually in the chair for upwards of 5 hours. Hunter knocked it out of the park in under 3! She is a light to be around and I am so thrilled I've finally found someone who can make my hair vision a reality. She's likeeeee really good at blondes (and all other colors) :)Services: Balayage

My mother and I are both clients of Hunter Mae and could not be any more blessed to have someone so talented and knowledgeable working on our hair. I would highly suggest booking with her for any hair services, beyond that quality of skill she provides she also makes it her priority to make sure you leave her chair feeling like the best version of yourself inside and out.

Words cannot express how much I appreciate the level of customer service of my stylist Hunter Mae at Paramount salon. I have been a customer for over a year now and I have never experienced my hair in this condition. Hunter Mae is a lovely personable and extremely talented stylist. I feel so lucky to have found her. My confidence has improved dramatically in the year she has been taking care of my hair. I simply wouldn't go anywhere else. The salon is beautiful as well. 5 stars every appointment!
