I was so happy to come here! The donuts were great, the chai was delicious, and the staff was fun and friendly! I wore my In Omnia Paratus sweater and one of the staff immediately knew it was a Gilmore girls reference. There were plenty of people laughing and just bringing so much positive energy in the whole place. Parking was not difficult as there was plenty on the streets. Such a great place to try especially on a cold rainy day.

Delicious donuts, great costumer service and always friendly faces to greet me. They made a mistake on my order once and offered a voucher for free donuts. Truly understand the value of honoring their costumers.

Came from California and we actually thought about Going to that other place that starts with a “V”. Our friends told us that Pip’s was thee place to go. Tried em and we were not disappointed! We never made it to that other place and doubt we ever will. Plus it happened to be my husbands birthday! Can you say win-win?!? Oh yeah!!!

the donuts are fresh tasting and clean oil, would go back again however the donuts tasted best the first time i went there on my birthday than they did today they were still good however i prefer the cook that was working on my birthday as the same donuts tasted better that day than they did today. The donuts i had from pips on my birthday left me wanting more on my pallet... Todays were good but they didn't seem to leave the same desire inside that craved pips donuts on my tongue and in my spirit and soul!!! They are still one of the best donut shops in the Portland area better than most donuts around the World that I have tried!!!

Went for the first time yesterday to get my 4 year old his free birthday dozen. Wow! These were worth the 30 minute drive! Just the right amount of crunchiness on the outside and soft on the inside. We tried the Nutella, honey, and cinnamon flavors. So good. I also tried a Smoky Robinson. Very yummy! We will for sure be back next week for my husbands birthday!

How are the donuts? Small... but on purpose. How us the quality? Normal... they're just donuts. How is the staff? Nice... but they go above and beyond in some ways... How do they go above and beyond? You'll see. So we go here sometimes, and now we go once each year for each special person... why? PRO TIP : They give you a free dozen donuts on your birthday week!! We always tip and buy a second dozen, but it's just nice to be loved!!

I come here every time I come to Portland. I don't even donuts normally. I usually get 8-12 of them and finish them in one sitting. I love the honey one, cinnamon sugar, and the Nutella. They're just so good, so hot and fresh, and bite sized! It's a guilty pleasure for work and definitely worth the wait. Try it with a small oat milk The King and I chai. It's deliciously smooth.

Pip's original doughnuts are delicious bite-sized doughnuts that come out piping hot! Thankfully, there was no wait when I visited. We tried all the doughnut flavors they had that day - cinnamon sugar, raw honey and sea salt, nutella and sea salt, candied bacon maple, the dirty wu (cinnamon sugar with nutella and honey), and sweet potato pie (seasonal flavor). These little cake donuts are pretty darn fluffy and tasty! I only wish the flavors were a little more unique and different from each other, since several of them tasted pretty similar. My favorite flavors were the nutella and sea salt and the sweet potato pie. I feel like the candied bacon maple would've tasted better if the bacon were crispy and the savory/sweet flavors had a sharper contrast. I wish I got to try the chai flight, but I'll have to save that for next time!

This is my favorite donut shop in Portland! It definitely beats VooDoo and Blue Star. You can watch the donuts being made, so you know they're fresh. They taste even better than they look and the size is perfect so you don't feel too guilty eating a whole plate of them! ;)

These are not the same doughnuts as the ones with holes nor they are as mainstream as the voodoo ones across the river. These are doughnut holes and they're nice and tasty. *Cinnamon Sugar - These are like the classic here that are sugar covered. Nice and tasty. **Candied Bacon - My personal favorite. Bacon has this nice salty combo with the sweet. ****Nutella - Nutella on everything in awesome. It's a pretty easy choice for this. *****Honey - Underrated and lower on my list, but still good. ***Dirty Wu - The mashup of every flavor. Cinnamon Sugar, Nutella, and Honey on it. This one is dirty...as described in the name. it's good for sure. This place in the quaint area is very nice and right choices with a adult hot chocolate. Thanks for the donuts!

Freshly made mini donuts and chai flights - what's not to love about Pip's!? For $7.95 you can get yourself a dozen of their delicious donuts. I opted for getting a dozen assorted with their seasonal flavor of sweet potato and all flavors did not disappoint. I enjoyed Pip's because the donuts are nice and crispy on the outside, but warm and fluffy on the inside. I'm a little partial and favored the nutella and dirty wu because they were on the sweeter side of things. If you're craving something more savory the candied bacon flavor is the way to go. As a chai lover it was hard to pick one chai flavor so I ended up getting the chai flight as well. My faves from the chai flight were the Ginger, King & I, and Emmy since they were nothing I ever tasted before. Overall, I had a great first visit. The freshly made donuts, hot chai, succulents, and friendly service made this place a go-to for future trips to Portland. If you also have extra time, feel free to take a look on their outside wall since they have a mural of their Pip's donuts stickers that you can also buy inside. Do yourself a favor and grab yourself a dozen orrrr maybe two. Just a note - they do cap you at 4 dozen donuts per order because they're THAT good.

This place was my fav out of everywhere that I ate at. The donuts are small, delicate, and full of flavor. I wish I had time to go back before I ended my trip. My friend and I split 6 donuts. There were 6 flavors so we got one of each. Our favorite was the candies bacon and the honey sea salt. The ones with Nutella were yummy as well. We definitely could have ate 6 donuts each, but we were saving our appetite. The chai teas are delicious! I preferred mine over my friend's. I had the one that included Thai tea in it. Pip's is one-of-a-kind!! Don't miss out, especially if you love donuts.

First time visiting Portland and this place was highly recommended. The shop is located in little strip of shops in a nice older neighborhood. Street parking available. We got 6 mini doughnuts, one of each flavor, to share between 2 of us. The doughnuts were freshly made, soft and flavorful. It was just the right amount of flour to make it perfect. They have 5 different flavors of chai that you can try as a flight but we only got heart of gold. It was just the right amount of spice and sweetness. This is one of the place I highly recommend and we would definitely be back.

The best fresh mini donuts in the morning! I recommend the candied bacon donuts and the Nutella one! The cinnamon sugar one is good as well. The atmosphere is very modern but homey vibes decorated in lots of local signs and art. My friends who took me loved it so much, they all bought tshirts to remember the place because we aren't locals! Coffee in Portland in general is good and rich. Can't go wrong with coffee here and it's strong. This is a MUST visit for all occasions when in Portland.

Ok, this place is awesome. I didn't expect to like these donuts the best out of all the donut shops in Portland, but them being freshly made just put them over the top. Flavors were awesome, and the small size made it easy to try them all! We came on my sons birthday to get the free dozen donuts, and then we supplemented with an additional 6 so that my sister, my son, and I could each try one of each donut type. My sister ordered a chai flight, and I had a spicy apple cider which was hands down the best apple cider I have ever had. They had 1 high chair. They also had a bookshelf with some children's books. We came around 9:15 on a Sunday and there was an indoor line, but by the time we left there was a line out the door. I did see some gluten free bars on the counter that I tried to convince my husband to try, but he just defaulted to a regular coffee and watched everyone else eat tasty donuts.

Yum! This place definitely lives up to the hype! The doughnuts came out hot and fresh with a perfectly crunchy outside and soft warm inside. Got an assortment since this was my first time and the Candied Bacon Maple was my favorite for sure. The maple saturating the doughnut was insanely good and I'd highly recommend getting some of those. Second favorite would have to be the Dirty Wu because it had a little of everything! I would suggest getting a variety of some with cinnamon and sugar and some without as I learned it was nice to juggle back and forth and not just keep eating sugary crusted doughnuts one after another. I do wish they would have been just a little more generous with the topping of the seasonal flavor which was spiced peach butter. It tasted delicious with just the right amount of spice but you end up only tasting it for one or two bites and then the rest of the doughnut becomes plain since it doesn't cover the entire top. We got there with the line just hitting the door to come in but it moved fairly quickly and I was able to order in about 10 minutes. Probably took about 15 minutes after ordering to get the doughnuts so even though it was busy it didn't take too long. Pro tip, they offer a dozen free doughnuts on your birthday/up to 7 days past as long as you show them your ID!

We both loved Pips! It was one of the highlights of our short, but sweet trip to Portland. Pips serves hot, made-to-order mini donuts with different toppings. For two people, we ordered a dozen. We tried all the flavors except the bacon one, my favorites were the honey and the nutella. The donuts go perfect with the housemade chai! We wanted to try all the flavors so we got the chai flight. This is the perfect amount for 2 people. We also got a large Smokey Robinson chai for the road, but we ordered it before we tried all flavors. We liked the Smokey Robinson the least, it had a weird taste! My favorite chai flavors were the coconut, thai, and lavendar. They offer almond milk and other substitutes. It was fun to try the different donuts and chai teas. I would definitely come back! The hot donuts and warm housemade chai was perfect on a chilly rainy Portland morning. There was a short line outside when we got there but it went fairly quickly, maybe 20 mins. It is worth it. Make sure you check-in for the yelp discount!

A one of a kind place!! Where else in this world can you get a flight of five different types of chai? Each chai is very different, and they are influenced by different cultures and colors. The lavender chai made the most lasting impression, due to its unique aroma and color. Heavy on the creaminess of milk, it tasted light and airy. Ginger Rogers was my personal least favorite, but still a very unique drink! They also include foodie favorites, like Thai tea influenced chai and golden turmeric chai. Be forewarned, as they close at 4:30. That's way too early for such a popular place. We got there at three p.m., and I think that is the latest time anyone should arrive. They stop taking eat in house orders at four, and the line is an hour wait. Also, remember to get the 20% Yelp deal at check in! The donuts are made with a buttery batter, and all the topping are generously applied. Instagram friendly decor and cutlery, and the fluffiest donuts ever makeup Pip's identity. I'd go back to Oregon, just for this. Where the heck can I get some lavender chai?

Voodoo donuts and Blue Star who!?! To be honest, I only tried Blue Star prior to coming to Pip's...but I didn't care because just by the looks of Pip's, they looked so fresh and tasty! It seems like there's always a line so either come early or expect to wait at least 30 mins. I ended up ordering a dozen (yes to myself, don't judge me) with the following flavors: cinnamon sugar, nutella with sea salt, candied bacon maple and the dirty wu which is nutella with sea salt and honey. My favorites had to be the dirty wu and cinnamon sugar. I pretty much inhaled at least half of it - they're made fresh to order so they were warm, soft and perfect! I also tried an iced matcha latte with chai - I'm forgetting which chai was included but it was a little more on the light floral side so it ended up also tasting on the sweet side. I would maybe just go with their chai drinks next time. The workers were super friendly and looked like they were moving as quickly as they can to maintain that line. Definitely worth the visit! And as a Bay Area native, I have to say they were just as good as Trish's donuts in the Wharf, if not better!

Seriously, the best donuts in my life! I didn't expect much because they were small but, man! Don't underestimate these little things! My favorite flavors were the original and cinnamon sugar. I loved the crispy, fluffy texture. The chai lattes seemed a little watered down so I will pass on them in the future. Tip: You can redeem a free dozen on your birthday ! Or 7 days later. :) Don't pass up a good deal!

In three years of living in Portland, Pip's is one of the only places I went to with regularity, and hot genuinely excited to go to every time. I love the donuts. The seasonal flavors are always worth checking out. Pip's is the one thing I'll miss the most from Portland.
If y'all are ever expanding to Chattanooga TN, I'll be the first in line.

Come here on your birthday for a free dozen donuts! And you gotta try them all, they're small and delectably delicious. Pair with a yummy spiced chai for a lovely duo of flavors. Don't be intimidated by the long line, it moves quickly.

Oh my gosh the mini donuts were super delicious! Didn't read the board all the way through so watch out for the daily special they add on at the bottom. My fiance got one of the teas and he said it was really good. My friend recently has a birthday and she was able to get a free dozen mini donuts! Must go if its your birthday! They allow for a 7 day span so you don't have to go directly on your birthday!

The donuts here are always fresh because they are made to order, not just sitting around all day since being baked in the morning like some other donut shops. There were about 6 flavors and a seasonal flavor when we went. The seasonal flavor was Strawberry rhubarb and was really good! Would definitely come back here for hot, fresh, bite size donuts! Also, they give you a free dozen for your birthday!

This place had really good reviews and is crazy busy during the weekend. It took me about 30 minutes to order and another 10-15 minutes to get my 3 dozen order. They have some unique toppings and even offer a special/seasonal topping which is nice. However, I was not impressed with the donut. It was a tad bit on the dense side with a bitter after taste which ends up counter balancing the sweet toppings and leaves a negative note on your palate. It's best to eat it right away while it's fresh because the freshness doesn't last very long and becomes dry and stale overnight. I prefer my donut light, and airy with a sweetness factor which goes well with a good tasting cup of coffee. It was an okay experience. The shop is quirky and unique, but I'll stick to Voodoo, Blue Star, Top Pot, and Henry's donuts.
