I live across the street from this plaid pantry, the regular evening an graveyard guy’s are amazing at what they do, 5 ⭐️’s to them, but the woman there at 5:55am this morning, with “Rhonda” manager on her name tag shouted take that outta ur pocket at me across the store, (poop bags fell out of my jacket pocket, an I grabbed them off the floor so my dog would not tear them to shreds in the store,) I walked straight to the counter with what I went in there for. I don’t know if anyone important reads these reviews, if they do…Rhonda that was at the register at 5:55am Sunday Aug 31st 2025 is not the type of individual y’all should have representing Plaid Pantry especially as a Manager, if it wasn’t for Baxter an the Graveyard guy I would totally say screw plaid pantry an not go back

I have lived in this neighborhood for 15 years. I used to like this chain because I thought they were Pro bike rider and are local to the pacific nw.
That said, I've observed a decline in the quality of personnel.
Today I offered feedback about an employee who kicked me out of this store for no reason approximately 2 months ago. I actually said the words 'for no reason'. When I said ok and left as asked, the clerk still looked furious; nothing I did could have warranted such an overreaction. I've been avoiding this store ever since because why do women need more of that in public
The clerk today immediately replied with well maybe he had just been dealing with shoplifters before you came in.
It was the stupidest excuse I've heard in a long time; I was looking for an apology for the treatment of a longtime customer. Also, that doesn't excuse the abusive treatment of said long time customer.
This location in particular seems to hire a non-stop parade of clerks who are *ridiculously* rude. The clerks who seemed promising and friendly would move on very quickly.
I wholeheartedly second the other reviews here that say just go to Market of Choice it is becoming very comparable to their price points anyway.
And WOW I wasn't the only one told to leave inexplicably? Just, wow.

Always closed for employee breaks. What's the point of a convenience store if it's always inconvenient. I'm not going to be spending money here anymore. Go to Market of Choice or the Food Carts. Even just for a can of soda....

The night manager, who was a heavy set individual with a beard, was incredibly rude and yelled at me when I walked into the store with two unopened beers and headphones. He stated that I could not wear headphones in the store or carry the unopened beers. I understood not being able to carry beers but I thought the headphone request was ridiculous. His associate was equally rude and disrespectful. Very disappointing experience as I am a loyal customer of this particular Plaid Pantry location. I may never come back to this location as it was a truly horrible customer experience.

Absolutely rude. Tried to park temporarily to drop off a delivery across the street because I wanted to buy something there afterwards, yet the guy named Baxter there continued to threaten to have my car towed. Not worth your time or money with an employee like that.

I've been coming here almost daily for 4 years. Never have I ever stolen anything, been rude to staff, or been disruptive in any way. I just had an employee YELL at me to give him my backpack. I will not.

After grabbing my beer and locking a fridge they’d left unlocked, the cashier decided to spend his time scolding me after some guy stole beer out of an entirely different fridge he’d left unlocked 🙃 Maybe check your fridges instead of playing Plaid Pantry prosecutor while I’m literally trying to pay you for my beer, big guy.
Edit: lmao just checked and there are a dozen other negative reviews about the same employee with the long black hair. Incredible.

It’s okay it’s hours are weird they’re open during the day but now closed at 5 or 6 pm hours don’t match up not sure if it’s because Portlands crime problem.

My card was getting declined for some reason, not sure why. The guy at the counter was sighing and rolling his eyes at me while I tried to enter it. I didn’t have cash other than $100 and he got upset with me. He was cussing me out and said “you need to be more prepared”. I tried to leave and he said “give me the damn hundred”. I haven’t experienced someone so rude in customer service before. Beware of older bald guy.

The new employee working nights with long black hair is not helpful. He constantly has the store closed for extended periods of time 'on break' or 'preparing for a delivery.'
Lines form outside for extended periods of time and the employee can be seen inside mocking the people outside.
Not a good look.
