This was my first time at the Portland Center Stage, and we saw "Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really." Go see it. Support your local arts. I know I am a forever fan!

My husband and I have a wonderful evening watching Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really. Great venue, great performance. This was our first time and we will be coming back!

I usually buy balcony seats at theaters if I am not sure how slanted the main floor seating is. So for the production of HAIR I purchased tickets in the first balcony row. I was astounded I couldn't see the production sitting in my seat! We had to lean on the bannister to see the parts played out on the steps and the interaction with the audience! There should be a disclaimer when purchasing balcony seats that the lighting fixture will limit your view of the performance.Incredible!

Tonight was the first preview of Dracula. While the performers/premise were wonderful, it was difficult to understand the dialog. I was upstairs in the first row of the balcony (S4). Perhaps it was the English and Romanian accents,or the enunciation and/or projection, or my aging ears but whatever the cause, it made for a less than stellar performance. Plus, some attendees insisted on leaving before the intermission though their friends courteously waited.

I’m sad to leave a less-than-stellar review for PCS, which we used to love. Over the past 4 or 5 years, the quality of the productions has declined. We’ve seen at least 15 productions here, but the last few have been disappointing. The casts are talented, and in the case of Hair, the vocal performances are very strong. The direction and choreography are a bit weak, however. Previous productions were polished and professional, but the last few seemed like high-school productions. We will try a couple more performances, hoping things will improve. If they don’t, we won’t be back.

Went to see "A Misummer Night's Dream" at PCS. This was the first time in my 61 years of going to theater and other performances that I left before it was over (here, at intermission; I'd have left much earlier but didn't want to disturb other audience members). Forget the gratuitous and ill-considered gender-reversals and absurd and childish costuming: The actors simply had no skill in acting, nor did the director (or actors) have any idea what the play was about. The actors mouthed words whose meaning they clearly had no idea of ("this disassembling mirror", instead of "this dissembling mirror"). I have seen better performances by small children. PCS should be ashamed of itself for charging people high ticket prices for them to endure such a horrible "performance". I will never be back.

An excellent theater. Elegant and comfortable while not being too large.

Went here to exchange tickets for this evening's show. One of the members of my party had a death in the family and PCS was GREAT about it.

Great little theater in the heart of Portland. Cozy, yet sophisticated. Well worth catching a show at.
