I recently had an outstanding experience with Portland Running Company, and I wanted to share my positive feedback.I encountered an issue with a shipment, and Clay L. went above and beyond to resolve it promptly. His quick response and proactive efforts in contacting both Hoka and UPS ensured my package was on its way and delivered as promised. Not only did Clay address the situation promptly, but he also took the initiative to arrange a second shipment to guarantee I receive my order before my upcoming trip.I greatly appreciate the exceptional customer service I received and the reassurance that came with it.

Huge shout out to Henry for the amazing shoe-purchasing experience! He was incredibly knowledgeable and really cared about making sure I found the right shoe for me. I'm sure he would have brought out 20 pairs with no complaints if that was what it took. Thanks Portland Running Co. for the new kicks!

Very friendly staff! I recommend going here if you need running shoes. I talked to a staff member and described what I was doing and what type of training I was doing. I asked about a wider toe box shoe and was brought back 3 pair that the staff member recommended. I went with the first. I went on a short jog today and love the shoes. Thank you very much Portland Running Company!

Jeff was fantastic! As a running shoe nerd, I could appreciate his and his teams technical knowledge of their product, and learned a lot about my gait and the physiology of probation due to their gait analysis. 10/10 fantastic - will be back

I had the most exceptionally positive experience here recently while trying to buy my elderly mother a pair of shoes. She is unable to come in herself to try them on and really struggles with finding comfortable yet supportive footwear. Madi was so kind and informative. They allowed me to exchange my mother’s shoes 3 TIMES with zero negative vibes. I highly recommend this store.

Thanks so much to Cody, whom I talked over the phone with, for helping me to narrow down what type of shoe I wanted to look for. The energy of this store is also awesome.

Cute running store with a solid selection of shoes. I wasn't shopping for shoes today (just getting a beer and saying hi) but 2 different team members politely offered me help while I browsed. Both staff members I spoke to had great recommendations for local runs and there is a little tap wall inside where you can grab a pint to sip inside or on the sidewalk at some tables outside--super cool vibes and helpful/friendly people!

We've been going to the PRC for about 20 years. Some staff are helpful but some staff not so much. The parking is always challenging at the Raleigh store. We've always thought there are A LOT more fun products that could be available, especially for a lot of us casual runners.

PRC is an amazing institution! Gardner leads us on Sunday group long runs and helps run the show on Thursday night group runs. She is so friendly and always willing to help us with anything we need. My PRC experience wouldn’t be the same without her positive energy!!

They were excellent in providing advice and had wide selection even for my wide feet. Would absolutely go back.

Bought shoes online. Did not fit. They do not offer return labels and it ended up costing $40 to return the shoes that cost $135...ridiculous.

I placed an order on-line for store pick-up of a pair of waterproof running shoes since the Portland location had them in-stock. I received an automated e-mail right away confirming the order, and it advised that I'd get another e-mail when my order was ready for pickup. Well, after three days of no updates, and my order status showing as "processing", I called the Portland store to get an update. The person I spoke with said the order was ready for pickup, and had been. He also apologized for the "miscommunication".When I stopped in to pick them up, the employee fetched them for me, and confirmed what was in the bag. All told, I was in and out in probably three minutes. The employee was prompt, but not notably friendly. The store itself is pretty large, and appears to have a good selection. There's also a running track inside that allows shoppers to try running shoes and give them a good workout. This is probably the reason that the shoes I picked up weren't exactly in brand-new condition. The soles were visibly dirty, there was a fair amount of debris on the sides, and there were more than a few hairs in the box. This was very disappointing, and I probably should have checked their condition while I was still in the store instead of waiting until I got home.Parking is TERRIBLE...it's all street parking, and the area is extremely busy. This store also serves beer, which seems like an extremely bizarre thing.

I came here for a group run and had the most bizarre experience ever. The only person who acknowledged and introduced themselves to me was also new. We went off running without anyone explaining what pace we were running at, what the route was besides vague keywords like, "waterfront" or "Tabor," or anything about the structure of the run. I moved to Portland three days ago so I don't really know my way around the city yet. In every other running group I've been a part of, we take the time to introduce ourselves, or at the very least point out those who are new, so that those who aren't new know who to look out for. After less than a mile I lost the group because I was too slow, at about a 10:30 mile pace that I was planning on keeping up for 11 miles. When I finally rejoined the group back at the store, only one person talked to me, and no one apologized about what happened or even took the time to explain that I was running with the wrong group if that was the case. Which I'm fine with, but the website does say all paces welcome.I lost it when a dog walked by after the run when people were talking, and suddenly everyone's social skills came into play, and they introduced themselves very nicely to the dog and took the time to talk to the dog. So apparently I'm less worth getting to know than a dog lol?FWIW, I did come by two days ago to buy some gels, and they sold them to me. But if the culture of the associated running group is indicative of the culture of the store (which if it isn't why don't you like, do something about it?) I'm not risking my chances again.
