Received specific instructions via email to check in at rental office on site during business hours to be given gate code / access to my storage unit. Arrived Friday at 2pm (during business hours) and there was no one at the rental office. I had already arranged to have movers with moving truck full of my belongings meet me there. Public Storage cost me an additional $160 (hourly rate) to have movers sitting there waiting with me until I was finally able to get a hold of someone from Public Storage who gave me gate access. Over the phone. Which they could've done ahead of time instead of giving me incorrect instructions that cost me money. I specifically asked about the $160 they had cost me and there was no attempt to make things right by crediting my account. Worst storage facility experience ever.*Update 03/09/2024*After contacting Public Storage's support chat and informing them that a $160 account credit is the least they could do, (and considering a bunch of my own time has now been wasted dealing with this fiasco that they are clearly at fault for) and really a $260 account credit would be more appropriate at this point... The support agent put in a request for an account credit, and now I just received a message saying that a $25 account credit has been applied. Twenty. Five. Bucks. Naturally I politely told them this was either laughable or just a straight up slap in my face depending on how how you looked at the situation, and then the chat agent just closed the chat dismissively without warning.AND NOW, Public Storage has the nerve to charge me LATE FEES on the past due payment that shouldn't have existed because they should've credited my account immediately. I'm seriously considering PAYING to have movers move the contents of my storage unit to a unit another company. Just to avoid supporting this company or handing over any more of my money.Worst... Storage... Unit... Company... Experience... Ever.*Update 03/27/2024*Now just received a "NOTICE OF FORECLOSURE AND SALE" email from Public Storage threatening to sell my belongings at auction. I tried responding to the emails they've been sending me about payment and they don't even go through. That seems shady as hell. Sending an email threatening foreclosure and sale and when I respond to it my email just bounces back? The specific hours for their support chat and the hours for the office at the storage facility are not convenient/ideal time frames for me to be trying to call and discuss this situation. Especially because the last time I went out of my way to contact chat support about my late payment they just abruptly left the chat without warning. And now you're charging me more late fees and threatening to sell my belongings at auction?Whelp, my apartment flooded, all my belongings have pretty much been destroyed, I had to foot the bill for the movers hourly when Public Storage was clearly in the wrong and I shouldn't have had to wait in the first place. And now they're threatening to repossess and sell the last of my moldy water damaged items because they refuse to credit my account when it's obvious they already should have and I haven't even been able to get in contact with them about payment. Seriously? How do these people sleep at night?

There was no employee in the office when I arrived with a loaded U-Haul during posted office hours, during a very stressful and time constrrained move. When I called the number posted on the door, there was one to answer the phone, or show up to verify my ID so I could enter the gate code.I had to pay extra to keep my U-Haul overnight. The next day I showed up at the posted hours, again, with my still loaded moving van, and there was, yet again, no one at the office on a weekday at 9:45 in the morning.I called the managment number severl times, waited for an hour, then drove across town to purchase a storage unit with a different company. After siginig a contract with the new company, and a quarter of the way in to loading my belongings in the new company's unit, I finally got a call back from the property manager. It was after noon..I understand not allways having someone in the office at posted hours, staffing can be difficult. However, when thats the case, the manager on call needs to be ON CAlL, and answer the phone, or call back in an any semblance of a reasonable time frame. It was increibly unprofessional, and needlessly stressful. When I called customer service for what seeme to be an obvious refund, I was transfered arround, only returned $19.99, and it took three days to hit my bank account.

I’ve had a pretty horrible experience with Public Storage. I have rented different units at different locations over the years. One of my units was burglarized and possessions stolen from my unit. Important to add that the insurance you pay for did not pay out for my incident of being burglarized, leaving me without tools and housewares I had to replace. My recent unit has left me absolutely discouraged from ever doing business with them in the future. My current location in Portland, N Gantenbein Ave, has been a bit of a headache. I’ve had a unit there for a little over a year until recently closing it out. It was a bigger unit and was absolute hell trying to get any accountability from management to fix my unit. The light in the unit did not work at all, leaving you in the dark while in your unit. It was an unsafe situation that they never remedied, and caused some incidents of falling. This should have been fixed before ever renting it out to a customer. They do absolutely no legwork to get repairs made that need repairing before renting them out to the next person. An absolute lack of professionalism and building maintenance. And issues that may be had are difficult to bring up with staff….cause staff is never there. They charged me for an entire month upon closing out this mess of a unit on the first of the month. I’ve gotten the run around a lot with the company and staff as a whole. Unprofessional, unreliable, and incapable of being there for any inquiries that are had. I’d try to find another storage company not associated with Public Storage in any way. You will get more respect for your time, money, and security of your belongings as a customer elsewhere. Wishing you the best in your decision of where to bring your business as a customer.

an absolute NIGHTMARE!!!I got my locker by doing everything online, to get the cheapest price. but that's where my nightmare begins. nowhere on the site, or the app does it say the property I chose didn't have a manager on site or ANYONE AT ALL. AND THAT IT WAS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. in fact when I was actually able to get ahold of a human he reassured me that if I finish paying online I would get my unit and a gate code. in fact I did, HOWEVER he didn't tell me that I still had to get an appointment before I could use the gate code, or my locker. I showed up at 10am thinking everything was good. enter the code and get "invalid see manager", I was there in the hot sun all my belongings I had shlepped on the bus, no manager, and could only get recordings whenever I called ANY LISTED NUMBERS! ITtook 7 hours to get my unit! S E V E N HOURS! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL!! IM FORST TO STAY BECAUSE THEY WON'T REFUND MY MONEY! HOWEVER I would like to give mad props to Cedric the employee who finally showed up to help me when he found out the manager wasn't going to! I think Cedric should be the manager! I hope you see this homie THANK YOU!!

OnWhen I'm there no employees are there. 5 the storage units are dirty when you first get your unit if you want it clean you have to clean it yourself.

Nice Public Storage crammed into a tight spot but once you are in there it's fine.

Not secure, my storage unit was broken into. The doors are made out of plywood and easily opened. I wasn't notified by Public Storage that my unit was broken into. There appear to be lots of people walking around the facility who don't have a unit rented. With the elevator broken, it's impossible to get to the upstairs units at times. Since the units aren't secure and you aren't guaranteed access, don't waste your time and money here.

Quiet and out of the way. Perfect spot to have a unit if ur trying to stay low key. Only issue is the lack of access to second level when the elevator is out of service.
