They can’t wait to raise your rental rate and seem to never offer a guaranteed one year term but try to respond if you question the increase for a token adjustment for time like three months which saved me like $15 in total after three calls. Swing door on my locker is nearly impossible to lock without an extra tool also. Place is kept clean at least. I’ve rented here at least twice in the past also and rates were more stable in past years.

Update: DON'T RENT FROM PUBLIC STORAGE - I got an email from Public Storage this week stating my rent had been increased without my knowledge or consent by $20/month. I have been trying to call, text, and chat with corporate or the actual location the entire day - no one answers - to figure out why. No one responds. I have only had the unit for MAYBE 3 months and they are already raising my rent. Because they are non-responsive alone, in addition to a million other issues I have had with them, I am going to cancel the account and move all my things out. This has to be the worst customer service experience ever. Terrible. After reading through all the reviews and talking with corporate - they raise the rent on select renters every few months (usually month mark 5, every 3-5 months). Rose City Storage in Portland does NOT do this, so moving my business there. Rose City also has staff actually onsite and American customer service. In addition to all this - it took 3 days for the onsite property manager to return my call.

I’ve currently got a unit here. I’ve had nothing but issues. I’ve been trying to get a larger unit since moving in. They gave me a unit with a busted door upon arrival. We loaded in after 5 PM so the onsite manager wouldn’t fix it or let us return the lock she left in there. The property manager is always gone or unavailable to actually help me with getting a larger unit. It’s extremely difficult to get anyone on the phone. I’ve gone by on several days at different normal business hours and the office is constantly empty and locked. The onsite manager stated the at upper management won’t give them standard hours so they can’t post or communicate when they’ll actually be there. She offered me making a scheduled appointment which is difficult to do when moving companies and such are also involved. The customer service team won’t honor the new rate for an upgraded size even though I’ve been asking for it since the literal day I moved in. I’ll be working to move my entire business elsewhere. Storage units and customer service is not this difficult. Management with poor customer service - absolutely not.

I had to rent an additional storage unit and Paula helped me secure one that was near my first unit, making it convenient for me to move my things from one to the other. Great service.
Paula is awesome. I visited many storage units in Portland when trying to decide where to store my things and her customer service convinced me to work with her. She is informative, helpful , friendly and goes above and beyond. Public Storage is lucky to have her represent the company.
