I generally like Safeway and save using their coupons and sales. But you really have to keep an eye out for expired products. I regularly come across items past or very close to their dates on the shelves. Most recently purchased hot dogs where I forgot to check the date. Noticed discoloration when I opened the pack, their Use By date had expired 6 weeks! before I bought them.

Pharmacy is the worst service on in PDX. Also if you’re looking for insulin for you or your pet, it is much more expensive here. They also don’t tell you when scrips are ready, and don’t answer their phone either. Honestly it’s a nightmare. Sundays day person has the personality of a crumb.

idk its my favorite safeway around here. easy covered parking, a clean and stocked store in a cute neighborhood. never had a problem with any of the employees and once one of them tried to help me figure out why my apple pay wasnt working in check out. Not the best produce- but they still have it. Id probably just go to whole foods, new seasons, or market of choice for fresh produce but thats just because im able to. Otherwise the produce at this safeway is perfectly fine and theres always plenty. Also the app makes u save hellaaaaaa koney especially if ur using the points for gas too

One of the workers told me my purse was "full" when I came in the store & then went on to call me "nasty" as I walked out the door. The staff at night here is ridiculously rude and unprofessional I've called corporate to fire the one woman that called me "nasty" I hope she ends up with nothing on the streets. I was sick with the flu and a swollen throat just getting throat lozenges, some medicine & some sherbet ice cream to try & self medicate myself and I got treated this way. Will never come back here again and if I do, y'all will be sorry. ???

Convenient, have most things I need & if you use the Safeway app for coupons, you can save a LOT of dollars! The Safeway app is a little tricky though... the easiest way to find what you're looking for is just to use the scanner while you shop. Sometimes it seems like there's only like 3 employees though. Where are all of the Safeway peoples? I almost never see more than 2.......?

I've had the pleasure of shopping at this location for over 2-years with wonderful experiences with the staff. Unfortunately, thanks to Elisha, I've now experience prejudice whilst shopping at Safeway. Elisha was condescending and all out rude to me. A customer ahead of me held the line up for over 6-mins trying to get a $2.77 coupon on the app. Elisha could've easily adjusted the price to honor the sale that was clearly in the paper, but he chose to hold a line up and have the 60+ y/o man figure it out. After 2 other shoppers behind me left the line, I asked Elisha if he could greet us and let us know what is going on. Elisha looked at me and said " I don't have to, you aren't important, this customer is!" and proceeded to look at the customer searching for the coupon. Elisha proceeds to tell me " If you're lonely and want me to say hi, just say that!". I told Elisha that it would be best for him to refrain from speaking to me especially if he was going to be rude, to which he smirked and said "Hmm, I'm being nice." The privilege is being able to antagonize a patron when they ask for basic customer service is astounding. He wanted confrontation, he wanted to be able to call security or the police on me. It was clear that Elisha felt that he could handle me this way because I was a black man. We know that some of you miss old, Portland, but we are here and deserve a great shopping experience and to exist in spaces. Elisha could use some cultural competence training. If you are a person of color, avoid Elisha's line. It won't be a pleasurable experience.

The manager who was working tonight (at 8:10pm) is the same manager who was working on 7/30/23 at 9pm, who said loudly (about a person who left the store) that she hoped “he gets hit by a car”.It is appalling that Safeway would allow someone so unprofessional and cruel to be the “manager” (AKA representation and face of the store) to be employed there. All this woman does is stand around, talk loudly, and say horrible things about other people. This woman, “manager”, hopes someone gets hit by a car??? How is she employed there? She clearly isn’t mature enough to work with the public, and does not demonstrate the necessary abilities to fulfill the duties of her position. My partner nor I will be returning to this location, and hopefully not to the chain either.Appalling, disgusting, classless, and disappointing. Shame on her and shame on Safeway. It’s clearly not a safe or welcoming place to be.
