Schneider National Inc

Hours: Schneider National Inc. is a leading company in transportation and logistics, offering a wide range of services including Regional and Long-Haul Truckload, Expedited, Dedicated, Bulk, Intermodal, Brokerage, Warehousing, Supply Chain Management, Port Logistics, and Logistics Consulting. It is known as a good starting point for new drivers, with comprehensive training that covers essential skills. However, some reviews mention that after a few months, the company tends to micromanage drivers, which can lead to high turnover. Drivers have experienced issues like inconsistent communication from driver leaders, low pay, and being asked to drive longer hours than necessary, often without clear reasoning. Training advice, such as not checking tire pressure, was criticized, emphasizing the importance of knowing one’s own vehicle details. Despite these challenges, many appreciate the company’s supportive environment for new drivers and the opportunities for growth. The company’s facilities are praised for clean showers, friendly staff, and helpful personnel, especially in the Pacific Northwest, where drivers often stay within the western states. Owner-operators report good treatment and long-term stability. Overall, Schneider is viewed as a solid company to start a trucking career, with a friendly atmosphere and good benefits, but it may require patience as drivers gain experience.
