Started nice enough. Went into the dressing room and was never checked on. That's fine. Had to wave down an employee to ask for another size because I didn't want to get fully re-dressed. Employee said she would go grab it and then never came back. Left waiting half dressed in the room for about 5 minutes. Then heard her checking in with other people and not myself. Got dressed and came out. Her and I made eye contact and she turned to do something else. Felt really bothered that she not only left me half dressed in a changing room waiting on her and then not even an apology for never returning. Won't be back to that location. Other employees were quite nice.

I've shopped at Sloan a few times over the last 1.5 years and have been happy with the service and clothes I've bought. I purchased this incredibly cute romper in June and spent almost $60 on it. I've only worn it twice and haven't washed it yet because every time I've worn it one of the straps has broken off. For the price you pay for clothing here the quality should be better. Having to pay extra to have things fixed or altered just doesn't seem worth it.

Im a size 14-16 and i was able to find a number of things that i loved and looked great on me here. Staff was super helpful, great vibe in the shop, love their styles, I will be back

If you’re anything size 8 or up, don’t go. Was nearly impossible to find anything in my size. Associate was annoying and overly personal, tried to have a nice day out with a friend and she just pestered us constantly and was trying to push all kinds of clothes onto us. They really try to sell you things. The associate brought me jeans that were clearly too small for me. They made me feel really bad about my body, and then were annoyed that I didn’t buy a bunch of things, not worth it! I’d rather go to any other boutique on Hawthorne, where they actually carry an XL. I bet this shop is a dream if you’re a Small or Medium woman.

As others have mentioned, I found the staff here to be super overbearing. I was there for less than five minutes and was asked three times if I was okay/needed anything. I ended up leaving because it was too intense being there. Also, the majority of clothes I’ve purchased here haven’t worn well over time — the end up sagging or changing shape. Wouldn’t recommend.

Truly delightful experience. I just wondered in after looking in the window- The lady brought me a ton of stuff over - listened to my feedback. Ended up buying several items - even jeans which I really don’t wear usually. They even called when they got those jeans in in a different colour. Big fan!

I stopped by the store with my friend because I have passed by it multiple times and the clothes look super cute. Really cute options inside too! However, my experience with the associate here was just kind of annoying. At first she asked us if we needed help which okay cool shes just doing her job and being nice. But after a while it kept seeming like she was just looking over at us constantly and she continued asking us questions while we are trying to just look around. I am having a conversation WITH my friend about a clothing piece she's been wanting and the same associate walks up to us showing a piece of clothing that I was talking to my friend about. I may have taken this the wrong way but it just felt like we had someone hovering over us the entire time and almost felt like she thought we had intentions of stealing or something. The way she was just acting overall just reminded me about the way they used to tell us to act with people we were suspicious of stealing when I worked in retail.

Such amazing service! We always receive great recommendations as we’re shopping—my wife often purchases items she wouldn’t normally purchase on her own, but they end up being her go to items. It’s a great atmosphere, and we love the taste in the clothing. We have never received this level of service shopping for clothing anywhere else! Thank you, Sloan team!

Don’t expect to even be acknowledged if you wear anything above a size 10. While none of their clothes go above a large, sometimes you can luck out and find something cute and an oversized fit.Really sad that unless they can push a fitting room full of close on you, you’re as good as invisible to them.

Like others have said, their return policy is unreasonable. It 1000% makes me want to shop elsewhere. They carry Free People and other common brands that you could get elsewhere without the contingency. I do not like to return things and always make a point to try on in store, but sometimes there are just plain exceptions. I purchased $120 jumpsuit less than 24 hours ago and wasn't able to return after realizing at home that the color completely washes me out. I think we all understand you can't compare a small business to larger corporations - but geez, they offer zero flexibility. However, i do appreciate that they don't give you a gift card to keep track of but put the balance on your account.

I shop here when I visit Portland and love the clothes/styles at this boutique. Super cute stuff and great prices. I have found some of my favorite pieces here over the years. Know that their return policy is store credit only, so be 1000% sure you like the style and fit before purchasing.
