Fantastic service, clean machines, and top-notch amenities. I would highly recommend them for any laundry service. Their wash and fold services are also top-notch. With the recent addition of a coffee shop, the atmosphere is extremely warm and welcoming. It makes me want to do my laundry.

I was really happy to find that they have special hypoallergenic machines/dryers that customers can only use Nellie’s or Charlie’s in. But please know that these machines are not truly hypoallergenic, so if you have asthma or extreme sensitivities, don’t use them!
I’m asthmatic, and a couple chemicals in conventional detergents can cause horrible reactions, so finding clean machines is a big deal. But after using them for a month with no issue, I got home and smelled conventional laundry detergent on them this past week. My guess is that someone washed their clothes w Tide or Gain in the regular washers and then used the “hypoallergenic” dryer bc the other ones in the laundromat were full. I immediately took them back and washed them again. I told the attendant, and they cleaned the top dryer with by spraying it with vinegar. I was glad that they didn’t dismiss me, but what they did wasn’t going to remove the residue. They also didn’t offer to comp me even tho they just saw me in there. Got home and they still smelled. My friend took them back and washed them a couple days later (after I soaked them multiple times for 48 hrs in Charlie’s), and he told the attendant what happened. All they said was that it’s an “honor system,” so nothing could be done. Later that night, I had a horrible reaction to my bedsheets. Checked my other clothes, + they all had a waxy coating. Someone probably used an unscented dryer sheet, which, again, leaves chemical residue in the drum of the dryer. So that’s twice in one week. Now I'm left soaking my clothes for days and hoping they’ll get clean. It’s not easy to get the waxy coating off—these are intense chemicals.
I’m writing this so other people in my position don’t end up bringing chemicals that are known respiratory irritants, immunostimulants, + common allergens into their home. Because that’s what happens when you bring contaminated clothes inside: they release these chemicals into the air. People who don’t have allergic or asthmatic responses don’t realize that conventional detergents have chemicals that linger on clothing (even “free and clear”)/that a lot of these chemicals continue to release for days afterwards. They think you just find the odor offensive when the reality is that it’s about getting really sick. The chemicals in laundry detergent are notorious for sticking to the drums of machines. Vinegar spray won’t denature the chemicals inside it, nor will the sanitizing cycle. It’s incredibly difficult to clean a dryer once detergent or the waxy coating of dryer sheets gets in them.
I sincerely hope they take “hypoallergenic” off their website. You’re misleading people with serious health issues. Ditto if you make someone pay $30 for one small load that still isn’t clean because “it’s an honor system.”
EDIT: friend talked to attendant today, 11/03/2024, who said they use the dryers when other dryers are full. So these dryers are NOT hypoallergenic despite what the website says. That’s exactly why my clothes/bedsheets smelled like tide and had a waxy coating.

Bringing your own non-scented detergent? Too bad! The soap they use to sanitize the washers between washes ensures your clothes and sheets will smell like bubblegum.
Also their spin cycle are way too strong to the point that you can see marks on fabric from the drainage holes in the washer drum because it spun so hard. This has to be harsh on clothes. Select the gentle cycle if you care about your clothes longevity.
Also this place is SO EXPENSIVE.
With all these negatives who cares about arcade games?

Awesome. Best laundromat I've ever used. Laundry, food, coffee, wifi. Should be more like this!

They have one hypoallergenic machine so if you have sensitivities and need a laundromat this is the one and only hypoallergenic machine that I know of in Portland. Call ahead to schedule use of it if you don't want to have to wait. Friendly and helpful staff.

Wow. Not your typical laundromat. Very clean with nostalgic twist with the retro arcade games like Street Fighter, Rampage, Centipede, Pac MAN, Galaga, and a pinball game, to name a few. Helped make time fly by. And there's a coffee shop with it too. Best laundromat I've ever seen and been too. Highly recommended.

Lounge no longer open. That was the whole reason we drove 15min to this laundry mat. Washers are over priced and under sized. 2 loads is actually a 1. 3 loads is actually 1.5 loads.

This is where I go when I have time to go across town. Cleanest washers and dryers with arcade games to pass time. Electrolux machines are fast and lots of size options. I just wish there was a location in SW Portland

Folks in Portland love their anarchist stickers, and spray paint. The attendant was very kind, we visited during unrest in downtown Portland. Had to wash our clothes somewhere and I’m thankful this is the place we found. Went for a walk, very interesting part of town…

After looking at the reviews of the leaf dromatics in our neighborhood, we decided to drive a little further and were not disappointed! Super clean, friendly staff, machine for change, free detergent (unscented). WiFi, toilets and the machines made a good impression. We were traveling and would totally recommend the Spin Laundry Lounge for a quick wash!

The staff is really cool, but all of the stuff that made this place unique went away during COVID. No more cafe/lounge. Hope they bring it back someday… stuff like that is what makes doing laundry fun.
