My very good friend who has zero experience with firearms asked me to help her pick out a home defense weapon. We picked one out together based on her zero experience, what weapon made sense, and what would hopefully best fit her needs. We decided on what we felt was the right firearm for her. It was not in stock, and we had to special order it. My friend was relying on me to help her through the process because she had no idea what to do. Bear in mind, my friend has ZERO firearm knowledge, and is completely relying on me to help her out (as a former military member, and someone who has used firearms). We went to the store to fill out the proper paperwork, and the employee at the gun counter wasn’t very helpful… and made us both feel like I was coaching her. Then when her firearm arrived, it was even worse. We went to pick it up… My dear friend who asked for my help due to her lack of knowledge about firearms, was treated like a criminal who might be illegally supplying me with a gun. I myself was treated like I was using her to purchase (I’m 100% legal to purchase or own a firearm). I was just there to help my friend purchase some home protection, and make sure she got the right weapon that fit her needs. Your clerk asking very accusingly “is this for her or for you?” Because I knew the right questions to ask when purchasing a firearm is insulting. As a retail manager for over 20 years, I urge your company to train your employees better. Don’t let them think they are holier than thou… just do your job the right way. If they have concerns about something illegal going on due to red flags, they can, and should address them. If a guy is helping a lady friend pick out a proper home defense weapons, and is asking basic normal questions that anybody ask about any firearm before… don’t accuse us of breaking the law. It’s insulting! I won’t be buying my next firearm from your company.

Literally been waiting to look at a gun for over 30 min without anyone acknowledging my existence! Fishermen's here I come! Not to mention the guy chewing behind the counter and spitting into a can! Real professional buddy!

Went to purchase a shotgun for myself but never got around to it thanks to the staff refusing to acknowledge my presence at the counter. I don't know whether they were under-staffed and simply failed to inform me or if they had made some assumptions (discriminations) about me based on my gender, age, clothing, friends, etc. I did see other customers receiving assistance, and there were multiple employees behind the counter who were doing side tasks, but who knows.... I could be way off here. It was definitely odd, though, that they had time and manpower to follow us around the store after we decided to give up on the shotgun purchase. They must have all gotten off break at the same time right then! Right... ?

They have just about all your outdoor needs. Dale was so nice and helpful. He was truly knowledgeable about the products. He was able to explain to me in simple terms on some items I had questions about. I look forward to returning to this store. Their products are just about equal in price as other surrounding stores but they are a lot more helpful than most stores.

Bought $130 shoe from them 3 weeks ago. After my second wear one of my soles were coming unglued. Took them back so I could exchange my shoes. Was told no receipt no return. Even though they are on a point system where you provide your phone number and they can track your purchases. Every store REI, Cabelas, Coastal, Fred Myers etc all can track your purchases through their systems. I will never shop at sportsman again. I'm only one customer so it's not kind they are going to care.

I would say this sportsman's has always had items in stock which other shops have not. Ammo prices are always higher as a consequence. The big gripe I have was the gun buying experience. I buy a lot of guns, probably more than anyone I know, from shops all over. It's like my one big passion in life. I came in to get a shotgun for a turkey hunt my brother wants to go on for his birthday. I'm not really a turkey hunter, but of course I'm going to take him. (I will say for this, sportsman's had a great selection)... It took almost a full hour of waiting for paperwork while I watched him scroll through his phone and chat with his coworkers about pink glocks. Any other shop I've been in, there's 5 minutes for the 4473, and an additional 10 minutes maybe of processing and chatting. I'm not going to get mad about a minimum wage employee being slow and disregarding. I can be understanding of this. I know it's not your mom and pop shop, I know what to expect. You don't have to like your job, but why take that out on me.

Even though this is a Canadian owned company, the selection of PNW gear is great.

Don't bother coming here or buying from here. The horrible staff at the gun counter is not interested in selling or helping you with anything.

I think Sportsman's Warehouse is a great store for outdoors, camping and vacation stuff. But I was there to pickup a firearm, which I purchased from Sportsman's online. The whole Pickup process was horrible. If you buy a firearm online, there is an option to schedule a time to pickup your order. I choose that option and scheduled to pickup my order at 1pm on Monday. When I got to firearms department at 12:50, few people inline told me to get a ticket at the Firearms cashier. Even though I said, I had a scheduled time. One employee still called a number/person in front of me, and I had to wait 40 minutes, until the next person was able to assist me.Firearms department had only two people on the floor, and the actual pickup process took another 30 minutes. Therefore, if you plan to buy or pickup a firearm, Plan ahead, and set aside couple hours before you enter the store.

Karlie (not sure if I spelled that right) helped me pick out a bunch of archery equipment and accessories for a birthday gift. She was so knowledgeable and determined to make sure we found the right items even though all we had to go on was my fuzzy memory and a couple of blurry photos. My friend opened everything and was absolutely floored. 20/10 she nailed everything perfectly!! Down to the sizes and lengths of the arrows and arrow tips. You have made a lifelong customer!!

I have been super impressed by the staff at this store. I have bought a couple of pistols over the past few months: one in-store and one shipped to the store. The folks helping me were nothing short of awesome: Very helpful, respectful, and informative. I really enjoyed the gun buying experience (well as much as one can given all the paperwork and whatnot). I will return to this store for any firearm needs that I have. (Also, had a similar experience in the archery department a year or so ago, the older fella helping us was the coolest sales person that I have encountered and he was so helpful to my son as he figured out his options for a bow). Thanks!

Always busy gun department. Take a number at the gun counter. Lots of well price guns and ammo with a decent selection. It's a good idea to know what you are looking for before you come in to see something or for any kind of service here. Severely under staffed. Usually 10+ customers only helped 1 at a time with 2 people behind the counter. Always told they are purposely understaffed to save on man hours by the staff. Lot of waisted trips here when financing weapons or ammo.Ask questions prior to coming in if you can get someone on the phone is my preffered way of purchasing anything here. Love the selection and fair prices for the guns I have looked at. No different than a Cabelas or any other Oregon gun store.
