Not cheap, great restaurant, good location.Probably need to pay for valet parking if you don't know the neighborhood.Wife said the rooms made her feel like Barbie. Me too. Great big 1st rate bed/mattress.

What a great stay! The hotel was easy to get to from the airport and centrally located. The staff was excellent - even delivered a microwave to our room so we could enjoy our leftovers! The restaurant Departure was excellent - highly recommend. The bed was great - very luxurious. Great coffee machine in room and lots of snack options in the minibar.

Poor management! Dining options are advertised but impossible to enjoy: we were denied a table for breakfast at 9:30 because the kitchen was "overwhelmed" (first time in my life) and the rooftop bar has no seats reserved for hotel guests, so we were unable to go upstairs. Only good thing is valet service which is expensive but very efficient. Room are kind of ok but not near 5-star level. Avoid if you can!

The service is excellent here. The amenities and offerings are nice. I feel like they are one step away from a luxury hotel here. My only issues were with room and hall cleanliness. Our plates and cups for coffee were not cleaned well. I had to clean coffee oil and residue from them before using. Small subtle things like wear marks on paint/walls, remotes not fully cleaned, Keurig not fully cleaned. Trays of food and drinks placed outside guests rooms would be left for hours. Overall I would go back and spend less on my room next time. The restaurants are really great and service is wonderful.Rooms: Needing some more upkeep and maintenance on rooms.

Our second time staying here. We enjoy the comfort of the beds and the location. My valet experience has not been that of a 5 star hotel. They do not open the door for females and tonight when we pulled up, Josh stood there but never opened my door and so after I opened it, he barked at me to hand him the keys twice, while I was still getting out of the passenger seat. After paying and tipping well I wish they would show some honor and respect to their guests.

The hotel invited us to check in w their app which didn’t work so we checked in in person. A good portion of the hotel check in was about an amenity credit or something? It was unwelcoming and odd. Like having a coupon explained. We paid 300 bucks for a king bed and room. We got upgraded to a suite which was nice but the “city view” is obscured by white pillars. I couldn’t close the curtains all the way so in the morning sunlight blasted through at 5am. When we checked out I was asked what we consumed in the mini bar. It has sensors so even though I didn’t eat certain things anything I touched I was questioned about. I asked if I could use my “amenity credit” on mini bar food. They knew I ate things but I don’t know if they would’ve offered if I hadn’t mentioned the credit? While I’m checking out my husband is getting free Portland art museum tickets that are also a part of this amenity program. None of this amenity stuff was given to us we had to ask around to get or use it. Idk… it just felt kind of odd to me. I was underwhelmed.

It’s in a great location which is downtown Portland it’s just very unfortunate that as soon as you step out you see drug use and people passed out everywhere. Not this hotels fault tho, they run a great operation, and their pillows and beds are comfy as hell. Maybe the comfiest bed i have ever slept on. Standard and “deluxe” rooms are pretty small so if you need more room forsure upgrade to a suite. All in all I don’t think there’s a better place to stay in the Portland area. Also the on site restaurant is great.

What an absolute honor to have been able to work with the nmgmnt staff of The Nines Hotel Portland. We had the most gorgeous event planned which would have drawn 1,000 attendees over the night and no where else would it have been such a success!BUT PORTLAND!Thank you for absolutely 0 leadership, forethought and backbone from our so called Mayor and "DA"! Rest assured we will be back to enjoy all of the amenities which this 5 star hotel provides!

Absolutely wonderful experience. My husband treated me to a night at the hotel for mother's day, pure blissful relaxation in a beautiful room. Reading on the chaise lounge and taking a stupidly long, blisteringly hot shower undisturbed was pure bliss. The staff were welcoming, kind, and helpful. I chatted at length with the young woman hosting the complimentary wine tasting, sat at the bar at Departure for a long dinner and beverages, amicably chatting with the bartenders and guests around me. The bed was WARM but comfortable. Can't say enough good things. Thanks for a great, relaxing experience.

We regularly hold lunch & dinner meetings at this hotel, specifically their lobby aka their living room.I had colleagues visiting from out of town and staying at the hotel via my recommendation. They were raving about how wonderful the staff was, especially Mei super gracious and helpful, she went above and beyond. We also loved Louis, he was working at the Urban Farmer.I love the Nines & will continue to recommend it & hold my business meals here.Food & drinks: Departure is beautiful & good food but Urban Farmer has the blonde sunde..

I paid for a room with a “view of the city”. What we got was a view of a brick building that you could maybe see the city if you stood in the corner and had maybe a 5-10 degree view. The room was small (for $350 a night). While they did have a fridge, you couldn’t use it or the coffee bar. The whole thing was stocked and electrically monitored, they made it clear if you even touched or moved anything you’d be charged exorbitant prices. So don’t bother bringing your own water, soda, beverage to cool. Which sucked because we couldn’t chill our own beverages. you are absolutely unable to connect to any streaming service that you own via tv or otherwise unless you use your own device. You have to pay them for everything. The room was nice for what it was, the bed was comfy, the shower was decent. They offered nice amenities that “if you read the fine print” was extremely expensive and loaded with fees. I had flowers brought in for my wife, they were the wrong ones and we were overcharged. They amenities offered were great if you’re a Portland townie. They have restaurant on the 8th floor with the best breakfast!! However, if you’re looking for a classy stay, this is not the place for you. There is a bar on the 15th floor that anyone can go to, (not to be a snob) this means you’re competing for elevator space and time with bar folk whom were unruly, and disingenuous to the fact it was a hotel. Drunk folks in the lobby and loud screaming down the hallways etc. There should be different elevators for hotel guests and those wishing to go to the 15th floor bar. So if you wanna party, go here, if you want a classy night with your gal, this is not the place. It was very overpriced for what you got and not worth it. But! The staff were excellent, great service! Overnight valet was way overpriced at $63 a night. One night stay in what I thought was a premium room with a city view that turned out to be a closet with a bathroom was $600. We would stay here again because of the staff, but with different expectations.EDIT: the nines responded to me so here is my response to them, as I left some things out. This hotel is very nice, the rounded corridors and corners in the hallways beautifully done. this is a very nice hotel! The staff was amazing!!! And thank you nines for your quality response! Their email communication and concierge communication prior to our visit was top notch! They really cared about our experience and meeting needs of the guests! I’m willing to pay for that service ten fold. And the fact I had the option to have flowers waiting for my beautiful wife was amazing. If I could suggest just a couple things as stated before. Separate elevators for guests and those wishing to frequent the bar. Allow some kind of fridge space to chill beverages of choice as we were afraid to touch anything. And allow the ability to connect to personal streaming services on the provided tv. Add grab bars to the showers, they’re slippery. The bathrooms were a delight, very classy! The room was very nice and the bed was exceptionally comfy. But if you offer a “city view” provide an actual city view. And again, the restaurant on the 8th had amazing service and the best breakfasts ever!

I travel nonstop and stay at hotels all over the country for work. For such a highly rated hotel, the decor is terrible and generic. The towels in the bathroom had rips and tears. The pillow covers had rips. Our room was dark with only one small 3 foot window. The furniture is crammed into the room. I would never stay at this hotel again. I will say the bar and the rooftop restaurant is amazing. The staff was nothing but pleasant to deal with. It’s the hotel itself that was disappointing

Did not enjoy my stay at all.The hotel lobby is beautiful as per photos. But the overall experience is misleading. What they don't tell you is that the lobby is on level 8. They have rooms below level 8.So if you're unlucky like me and get dumped onto a level 7 floor, the only time you'll see the lobby is during check-in and checkout. Actually, even if you have a higher floor your lift will go direct to your floor anyway, skipping the hotel lobby. This wouldn't be a problem if the rooms are great. They are not. They're cold, small and gloomy, and resemble simple moldy apartments from 30 years ago. The photos you see on the website are taken using LOTS of support lighting. But the actual rooms are absolutely dark and gloomy with old furnishings and very little lighting, internal or external. So the overall experience of the stay is taking a front door lift to your gloomy apartment in a dark corridor, without any feelings of luxury. It's more like an apartment rental experience.None of this is the fault of the staff, the service is friendly and warm, and obviously there's nothing they can do about the architecture of the building. But the whole experience is misleading and disappointing, and nothing about it besides check-in resembles a luxury hotel stay.

This hotel is cool, and it’s in one of the nicer areas of downtown Portland…HOWEVER, the valets have STOLEN FROM US on various occasions. DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR CAR. Hundreds of dollars worth of electronics and outerwear. Security has been responsive, but unable to locate our items. Not only did they charge $50 a night for parking but they took hundreds of dollars worth of items. I would like to recognize that this probably means the hotel should be paying their valets better, and possibly vetting them before hiring.

Stayed here recently and enjoyed our stay. Our room was great and clean since I note others said their rooms were not. Valet parking is expensive but you don't have much of a choice because while it's conveniently located downtown, there are a lot of homeless people around so you can't be sure if it's safe. I like that you can bring your dogs but there is no safe place to walk them, again, you have to uber everywhere because you don't know where you are walking. Therefore, we had to arrange care our dog and not bring her. We went to a concert at the Modo center which was not too far away so that's good. The restaurant is incredibly expensive and so, so slow...!!! I wish that we had not gone there. It added $350 to our bill for 3 of us and we didn't even order much and it made us late for the concert. Oh well...!I think this is a good spot and a nice hotel if you are visiting an event close by but plan where to eat and don't think you are just going to walk around a lot. Portland use to be a walking town but it's changed because you don't know the situation of the people around.
