The best adoption experience I’ve ever had! I got a new cat from Pixie a few months ago and from the beginning was blown away by the amount of care and expertise that goes into each adoption. It’s an incredible facility with a passionate staff, and you’ll leave with not only the perfect companion but the security of knowing that no matter what happens or what questions come up, Pixie will always be there for your family.

Ended up with a abandoned house cat that slept in my shed in the backyard for a couple weeks. Would not leave and just hid in my shed waiting for me to get home. I eventually took her in but was unable to keep her due to my other kitties being so territorial. Sweet, clean and such a loving kitten ( probably about a year old ) called around to a dozen places who won't even answer a call on taking a lost house cat.Posted this cat everywhere and did all I could to find her home but no answers. Called pixie and they got ahold of me minutes after I emailed them. Set up an appointment and took the kitten.I wish I couldve kept her but I know she will find a loving home through Pixie.

Reccommend everyone goes and reads the Reddit threads on this rescue.I talked to this rescue about surrendering a dog who was abandoned with me who is reactive and has a history of 1 bad dog fight. I know many dogs with at least 1 dog fight in their lives, maybe whoever is reading this might too.. Their immediate answer was euthanize her, and that they euth dogs every day. I understood that they could not take her with her history but...Then they told me not to let her go to another rescue or trainer who might try to rehab her with an e-collar? For me that crosses a line. Even the Multnomah Humane Society told me she can come there with her history. The director of PP told me they only use "scientific" training methods. I encourage everyone to do their own research. I was a professional positive reinforcement dog trainer and am super pro positive-training! But I also know the effectiveness of e-collars IS backed by scientific research and there is a place and a time for their use. For me, using an e-collar for a portion of a dog's life is far better than ending that dog's life forever.I used one on my current dog to stop him from busting through fences, chewing through leashes, and then running across dangerous roads. I could not bear to lose him to getting hit by a car. He was not treat motivated. I don't regret the ~3 months he was e-collar trained, he remained a happy go lucky guy AND he never did those things again! And he maybe wouldn't have lived otherwise. He went on to become my ESA and then a task-trained service dog through positive training.I really believe in the resiliency of dogs.To tell people to euthanize dogs instead of seek other training options because you don't agree with them is really not okay. Just say you cant help. I appreciate everything people do to save dogs but the director telling me she euthanizes dogs "every day" for behavior while the Mult humane society has a reactive dog program and wants to help these pups is something I've thought a lot about since then.I'm leaving this review hoping people will consider more balanced rescues.

We were having behavior problems with our small dog and were at the point of needing to rehome. I met with Amy and she was amazing!! She was thoughtful, quick to ascertain the exact issues and helped me understand some of the behaviors we were experiencing. Amy was educated, spoke to the point and provided me with things to try to keep the dog (whom we love) in our home. I would give 100 stars for her straight talk and guidance if I could! Thank you Pixie Project!!

Maybe you wouldn’t be euthanizing pets so quickly if your owner wasn’t condescending and the rules for adoption weren’t insanely complicated.Six months and a year of employment to adopt a cat. Are you out of your minds? Do you not see what kind city do you live in? Certainly not a sleepy rich suburb.

Amazing staff, super responsive and helpful. I took my stray cat here to get neutered, they offer a sliding scale which is very helpful to me during these trying times. When I was there to drop off/pick up my cat I noticed they had a room of kittens. Definitely a place to check out if you are looking to add to your family. Really all around a great place!

I contacted them via email about rehoming my dog, and their advice was to euthanize the dog because of dog reactivity. They did not assess my dog. They didn't ask questions. They didn't even lay eyes on my dog.Dogs with behavioral issues are similar to humans with disabilities. Pixie's response to that? Kill 'em. In other species this is known as genocide, eugenics, etc.As a disabled queer Jew, I say hell no to Pixie Project. We don't deserve to die for our differences, and neither do these animals.

This is a great place. I have been helped many times. I feel blessed to have found Pixie for my doggie Toby who has to have special dog food and allergy meds. On my low income Pixie saved my life to keep my Toby. Thank You Pixie Project and Amy

I would give 0 stars if I could. The director, Amy, is condescending and rude. She will talk at you and disguises her arrogant, judgmental attitude by saying she’s, “Just trying to get a better understanding”. She was quick to shame and made me feel even worse about the very difficult decision I’ve made in attempting to give my dog up so she could live a better life. If you care about your pet finding a good home, DO NOT surrender your pet to this organization.
