I walk past this place weekly, but it looks like someone broke 3 of their windows on 3/2/24. Transients are getting brazen out here.Show your support by checking them out. They'll need it.

Pretty cool place to check out in the Portland area, especially if you're into spooky things. I haven't been inside the museum portion personally, but I've been told that the store part is even cooler than the museum. A lot of the coolest things are rather pricey, so it did feel like a museum experience to me overall. Definitely a lot of options for decorations. It can get a bit uncomfortably crowded (with bad smells) depending on time of day, but usually pretty easy to get around the store.

What is this place? It's a combination of Portland's last goth shop (AnotherStateofMind is punk so it doesn't count), museum of oddities, and magick store. And it is wonderful.I've known the owner since they started at the Belmont location and it's been awesome seeing them grow and expand. It's something that I drag people to because I want more people to know about this place and I want them to be successful. It's like what Portland used to be and now only a handful of vestiges remain. The Skeleton Key is one of them last glorious places

Wonderful assortment of remarkable items. Many items have a little bit of history listed on plaques near them. Maybe a 10 minute browsing to go through the whole museum. The giftshop is slightly hidden amongst the delights. Sells lots of candles in many colors and sizes as well as tarot cards and books.Worth a stop into.

We went last year while we were in town and came back again this year to find they had moved to a bigger location. Very nice change. They have an oddities museum now you can visit for $13. Some pretty cool stuff in there. Will come again next time we come to town.

This place was super cool and had lots to look at. I took kids so I didn't get to explore for long but I'd definitely go back. It's like stepping into another world going in but I would love to go back and see the museum part of it.

Weird and odd place with a lot ofCool things to look at. Gave it 4 stars because it was a small place but don't let that deter you. It's worth a visit. If you're the scary type you may want to do something else like breast feeding with your momma lol. If not be brave and enjoy the unusual. You've been warned.

Every time I come in I have to buy something. So glad they moved close enough to walk. Even just look around you won't be disappointed.

I will keep this short and sweet. The Skeleton Key Odditorium is the perfect shop to get a unique gift for your friend that loves macabre and beautifully strange things. I was mesmerized by this place and could spend hours looking through all the things.

The Skeleton Key is one of the most intriguing places in Portland. You never know what you may find there. There is always something new each time I come in. Perfect for window shopping or finding that unique gift you won't find elsewhere. The owner is also one of the kindest, pure hearted person I have met in Portland. Her energy alone is enough to drop in and say hello! They also just opened a museum that I haven't seen yet but have heard is super rad. Definitely a Portland landmark you don't wanna miss!

In July my husband and I went in, had an amazing time, bought several things, but by the time we got back to the hotel we knew we had messed up not buying all the other things we wanted! We went back the next day for another variety of books and incense. My husband walked back a third time to make sure we had everything we wanted before we went home!

For anyone seeking an offbeat outing this has to be on your list!!! In a world often dominated by the familiar and the mundane, the Skeleton Key was unlike any museum I have been. Fascinating, bizarre, and uncanny pieces of history at every turn; we left with so much to talk about after. Would make an excellent date night or fun with friends. An absolute must for anyone visiting. Very cool store with excellent one-of-a-kind gifts for your unique friend. Excellent museum!
