I didn’t visit U-Haul Storage at Columbia as I booked movers to bring my u-box to my apartment and unload it for me. The box arrived in Portland a week earlier than the original booking estimate which I was thrilled with. I booked the moving help through u-haul’s website Elite Movers the same day the box arrived to be unloaded the following day. Rick with Elite Movers texted me the morning of the unload to communicate. Using a u-box was recommended from some friends and I would and have recommended using u-box to others.

Overall the experience was great. Part of my art frames did not make the journey however. I’m unsure if they stayed in the box or in left in the storage.
Either way, the movers and the overall experience was great and the price was more than amazing!

Everyone was helpful and easy to interact with. The general manager was very helpful and even took my U-box up to Columbia for storage so I didn't have to make the drive.

I tried to use the online pick up but it didn’t work so I had to go into the store. I was ignored while in line for at least five minutes. My online pickup had not even been turned on so I tried it again but it took too long so I went to the counter again, this time I was helped quickly. It was a huge hassle and then I find out another charge thanks to multnomah county road tax. It was a horrible stressful experience. When returning the damn truck, trying to fill the tank to just past the 1/4 tank marker is nearly impossible because the fuel tank image on the paper doesn’t match the fuel tank on the truck. So it makes it feel like uhaul is trying to steal more gas from me than what I actually used in my move. I don’t want the massive fuel charge ($30) and to pay $6/gallon so uhaul essentially forced me to fill up the tank to nearly half way. the entire process was awful and expensive and stressful. If you can avoid Uhaul do it. I’ve also rented storage unit from this place and again I was ignored while waiting in line. The storage unit was nice however and they make it really easy to unload stuff from a vehicle.

I have been to many storage places, by far this is the best of them all.Customer service, amazing!Cleanness, I give it an A+!Management the staff is ama outstanding service!Keep up the good word Amy, and thank you

Failed to mention that we wouldn't be able to access our shipping container past 7:00. Threw a huge wrench into our moving plans, costing us both time and money. They should really disclose that kind of information when dealing with something as time-sensitive as moving

Honestly the coolest people I've had to work with. I have a massive amount of U-Haul experience sadly lol and these guys are very helpful in the face of very rude people.

Review for my sister who is not a Yelper:If renting a Uhaul, don't rent from the one at Delta Park! I rented one two weeks ago. The tires low light was on and they tried getting 1/4 tank extra of gas. This morning I get there and they tell me that they don't have a truck available. I showed them my reservations. The guy tells me that it's not available because they can't find the key. After I was not very nice they found a key. The tank is on 1/8th if a tank and the check engine light is on. Went back in and waited for the guy to see what code came up. It said that the ignition can't be found. He said that it shouldn't leave me stranded.

Granted, I had a small moving task of two large items, but UHaul made it even easier with an app to reserve the truck and equipment and to check in / out within the two hour window of using the van.Easy parking, well trained staff, lots of accessories to assist in a move, I have nothing but praise for this business. Moving even two big items can be a hassle, but this small move was pleasant. I'd return here for my next moving task.

Have had only three interactions here with the staff and all left me pulling out my hair. Expect to wait- a long time- and hear "we're short on staff" despite seeing three staff members around doing usually nothing while no one is at the front desk. Very unpleasant check in and out process. It's normal to not get anything but incompetence here. This most recent experience had me walking over glass to get in through the main door as the employee "didn't know his own strength" and shattered somehow an automatic door. How? No clue, but this is just typical for this place. People wre here working a 9-5 and man does it show with the complete lack of respect and communication.

This place is great! I was very anxious about an upcoming, urgent move, as I hadn't moved in several years. I rented a storage locker and truck, and had to manage a lot of other moving pieces. The staff, from the front desk folks, to the truck washer, to the actual owner of this location, all helped put me at ease. They were friendly, empathetic, and knowledgeable. The physical storage lockers are clean and safe. The truck I used was basic, but also very clean. I highly recommend!

This is a hardworking crew with a great manager. I have a storage unit here and have rented trucks on multiple occasions.

Really disappointed with this uhaul location. We made an appointment to get a trailer hitch installed, planned our day around the appointment showed up and then we're told that they won't be able to install the hitch because they don't have the part since it's on back order. I'm not upset that the part was unavailable but I am upset with the lack of communication, no call, no email, no text to let us know that we'd need to push the appointment. So okay, they said they'd call and let us know when they got the part in... 3 weeks go by and no update, I called in and they told me "oh yeah we got your part in a while ago and made an appointment for this Tuesday". So they got the part in, didn't call or text and then made an appointment for us with out our consent or scheduling? Nah bro, that's weird and not cool. At this point I've made an appointment elsewhere and was trying to call and cancel to get a refund and they didn't answer on the multiple times we called and I wasn't able to cancel until I got though to a uhaul call center....Super fishy, I do not recommend going here or using this business.Lack of communication and sketch practices.
