Much better than KeyBank, which is also located in downtown Portland, Oregon. I have located a few different branches or locations of Umpqua Bank that are in different various locations in and around Portland, Oregon. For a few years pre Pandemic... my small business account was with a different branch or location of Umpqua Bank. Bring your best friend with you to this location... especially if that person (your best friend... or BFF) likes to people watch. There were a few other people who were banking at this location who didn't bring the required documents with them so I had a shorter than average wait time before I was able to get funds to pay for my darling Husband's hot Chai. I decided to save myself some moolah and make my husband's hot Chai at my condominium. Besides,... who wants to spend all that time in the lobby of a bank... I know I'd rather be in the forest on the trail.

I walked in and I have to say I've never been mistreated by any bank ever! The tellers were rude and dismissive. Simple questions were answered with rude tones and gestures. I thought to myself what the hell! I shared my experience with other people who go there and they said "oh yeah they're super rude at that bank!" Not one or two people but several! What is going on at this location?!

It's 2022 and I cannot create an online account because their tech systems are basically a huge collection of cat hairballs smashed together with dog slobber. Site says it can't find my information, when it's there. Also says my phone number is one I don't recognize. Oh yeah. It's an hour wait to get to talk to someone on the phone. The callback system is terrible, too.Data engineering is not hard, Umpqua. Just requires people to not do d*** things.

The Mortgage service at Umpqua Bank is awful.1) They make it difficult to Auto-Pay the correct amount so they can charge you late fees after they adjust your yearly mortgage payment.2) They don't make it easy to contact them3) They'll tell you to do it online, but their system is extremely difficult to use, and you'll spend a lot of time figuring out how to use it.4) You'll get charged lots of fees for doing anything.5) Bank local?

Today we find ourselves inundated with email. Unfortunately sometimes the important stuff gets lost in the confusion of the mass of junk we receive. This is what happened to my son regarding his request for a waiver of required health insurance while attending PSU. He has insurance through our family plan but PSU had decided that our deductible was not to their liking and if he didn't have $660 in a HSA they were going to charge us $890 + $200 in late fees for an insurance policy that he would likely never use.Because their billing system is so lacking, they do not provide information related to bills due until the day they are due. Meaning I received an email from PSU today saying the bill was due today. Surely there is a better way to do things.... Regardless, the lost email to our son said that if he had a HSA with $660 deposited they would do him and us the favor of waiving the insurance requirement. In comes our knight in shining armor Kyle Canifax, who helped us get the account established just in the nick of time with a smile and good humor! Thank you Kyle you are a gem! Thank you also to all the staff at Umpqua that greeted us with a smile and helped us connect with Kyle. You were all great!

Umpqua Bank phone customer service department is unable to provide basic contact information like a mailing address or fax number. I sat on hold for 20 minutes getting bounced around waiting to get this basic contact information and never got it. Pathetic.

Building has rude security, who will get aggressive with you over your dog without ever asking if it is a service animal. Felt very threatening and unsafe, so I left. Parking is also a nightmare. There's nothing in here worth visiting.
