This branch is garbage. I switched to Umpqua 5ish years ago to get away from Wells Fargo. I figured a small local bank would treat me right. Since then I’ve had multiple accounts start having maintenance fees out of nowhere. They tell me it was on the fine print. I’m sure the banker who is “no longer with Umpqua” really went out of his way to set me up with the right account …. For making Umpqua money with fees. The website also doesnt have a great user interface. Oh and they recently informed me they lost my data in a data breach. The employees are not great with customer service. I would run, not walk, away from this bank.

$340 paid in overdraft fees, the tellers responded by saying if you go into the branch you opened your account in, you can talk to someone and they might reverse the fees. That was inaccurate information because the bank manager lady with the bleached hair, avoided talking to me 2 times going to their branch. Lesson learned, don’t bank with thieves.

Did an instant Venmo transfer to my checking account, which I do often. Usually takes about 30 seconds to show up in the account. Venmo sent me the usual notification that funds were sent but Umpqua Bank failed to send their notification acknowledging the deposit was complete...long story short, my card was declined in the grocery store in front of a line of people. Had to step aside and try to contact service via chat in the app, which said was a 2 minute estimated wait. Ten minutes later I get connected with a rep who asked "Are you still there?" AS I WAS TYPING yes, she said "Due to a lack of response I am disconnecting this chat." So I waited again, still standing awkwardly near the checkout at the grocery store. Ten minutes later the second rep tells me there's a "system issue with online banking that is estimated to resolve in one hour." This type of unreliability is unacceptable this day and age. There's no excuse for their programmers to be rolling out updates in the middle of the day Pacific Time even if they are all in India.

This is jubilant praise for the bank manager, Jef Atwood, at the Alberta Umpqua bank branch. Jef went full on in providing essential support to an Umpqua member (my loved one) traveling abroad. He was thorough, expert and committed in the assistance he provided. If you’re looking for a person who adheres to traditional values in exceptional customer service Jef is your man!

They froze my acct for 7 days for no reason and never notified me they were doing so or called me to clear up the issue they had. The Bank Protection department put no notes in the file regarding why they froze the acct so I couldn't get any help outside business hours. I called 5 different times and spent hours on this only to find out the issue they were concerned about had been resolved BY THEM 6 weeks prior. They had even sent me a letter. AND the Alberta branch was supposed to notify me and never did. I have had no access to my money for 7 days. They are worthless. This is the worst and LAST of a string of mistakes by Umpqua Bank.

If you get a loan with them expect misleading junk mail titled “Final Notice” with solicitation inside. Totally not cool/confusing for a new home owner who is trying to be on top of payments.

Very disappointing experience at this branch. I found the staff to be unprofessional, discourteous & condescending. I typically bank at the Lake Oswego branch and it's amazing what a difference a bank can have branch to branch. My guess is it comes down to the branch manager and the culture of that branch. I'm a business client and this branch was definitely not set up to deal with business customers or their specific needs and requirements. I generally like doing business with Umpqua as a banking customer. But I will definitely stay away from this branch in the future. There's a lot of room for improvement at this branch, hopefully they will get the training they need or a change a in staffing. My take away from the experience was that my business banking would be better served at a different institution. Hopefully someone in management reads this post!

Why do I need to take off work to go to a bank? Good service and nice folks mean nothing of I can never make it there before they close. Please get real hours that serve your customers.
