I'm not a big review writer but I do look at them. And I have to say, this lovely Multnomah Village branch is the best! The people there are personable and friendly! They handle our two businesses with the utmost care because they truly do care about their customers and their banking needs. They have gone out of their way for us on multiple occasions. I am so grateful we found them!

I have had only the best and most helpful experiences with this bank. The staff has been consistently kind, professional and courteous. Two thumbs up!

Wow, I am stunned at some of the negative reviews I see here. Umpqua has been golden for me since I've been there. Raised our kids in 3 diff homes near Multnomah Village, a unique, historic area. My Hubby and I were both self employed and we banked at KeyBank for over 30 years when they were growing up. Times were good and bad, but we always made good on our account there. When our girls were both out of college, plus a few years, we got divorced, sold our house. I bought a house nearby, financed it with Umpqua, Closed my acct. at KeyBank, literally a minute walk away. After over 30 years @ KB, the Teller didn't even ask me why........ I walked a minute down to Umpqua and have been there ever since. The Loan Officer (Jason) there lived on a route home past my house and he came by here a couple of times to drop off or get stuff signed. Have added my D's to my act's.

The one star reviews below ring true - if you're going to bank with Umpqua, don't do it at this branch. I had fallen for a scam and went to this branch for help - "Sher" called fraud (but didn't even explain the background or why I was reporting fraud) and also opened me a new account. She was told to not give me access to the new account yet and so she told me she'd call me that afternoon once she had an update. She never did. I followed up twice more and nobody knew what was going on with my account ("we have people out sick", "we're short handed"), I was told I'd get a call back, never did. Today I finally receive a call letting me know "they are ending their relationship with me." Not once did I speak to fraud, share my documentation or what had happened. Not once did the branch ask for me to detail what happened. Luckily, I was able to get a checking account at another institution (since I am a legit person with direct deposit and good banking history) but this experience needs to be shared. UPDATE: canned response below leaves no number or way to actually message back. Additionally I stopped into branch yesterday and they offered no explanation because this wasn't researched probably. It's sad reputation management is what it takes for them to offer to "look into something" when as a customer, they should've looked into it during the situation not after it.

Terrible hours that do not accommodate for regular full time workers schedule. With no open hours outside of regular business hours and the lack of functionality of their mobile app it is impossible to handle finances with this institution any longer. Not just this location in particular.

My banker Jered is amazing!! I had some fraudulent charges on my account, along with overdraft fees. I was very short on time I ran up on my break at work. He actually personally walked down to my work place, to have me sign paperwork. Then came back to grab my check to deposit. They are always awesome.

The staff lied to the management about something that didn't happen. They don't help you with anything. And they just left my account locked forever and never contacted me I contacted them well over 5 times, and they didn't do anything to help. Never banking with them again!

This is a terrible bank. Very snotty management. I told them not to let my account be over drafted and they assured me it would not be but I am not in inadvertent debt. Do not trust these people. They told me they would wave a fee that was their fault anyway and they just refused to

Opened an account for my minor child & have experienced excellent customer service. Child makes annual deposits and we add extra throughout the year. Bank staff include my child in counting and deposit process each and every time. CD products (for the child) are competitive and well managed. Overall, an excellent experience & recommended.

Outrageously shitty bank, on the outside they seem all nice and laid back but after having a account with them for a year they just decided to close my acct. because I closed a acct with another bank I had before them and had a balance due, though I had over 1000 in my accts with them and their were like that don't matter ! Which means everything I had on auto pay went to s***

Mostly like them but $30 for a wire transfer is not reasonable. Free coffee. ATM is so slow.

Sadly, I have to add my voice to the "worst bank ever" contingent. Everything that could go wrong does go wrong. From the person who took almost 3 hours to set up my account (and did not finish) to the guy who said my answers to a security question did not match what was on file .... because (as I learned from another rep), he asked me the wrong question! (He asked "what was your first car" instead of "what was the COLOR of your first car.") I request paperless statements, yet keep getting paper statements. Mostly nice folks who staff the branches, but I've never encountered such a consistently difficult banking experience anywhere, ever.

Umpqua Bank is the worst bank that I have ever bank with in my life. I'd rather stick my money under the mattress then go with a bank with such poor customer service. Extreme profanity from employees over the phone. They are not reachable by phone support wise. Online bank banking frequently locked out of with no one to call after hours to regain access. When we initially signed our kids up for these bank accounts we found that they sold our 7 year old's name to outside mailing address companies and so my 7 year old daughter was receiving junk mail from realtors and credit card companies. I've had enough and I'm shutting our kids bank accounts down and moving them elsewhere.
