The absolutely worst rib eye I have ever tasted. When it first came out, it looked brownish grey, i cut into it took a bite and it was the toughest piece of meat I have ever tried. I was confused being at a high price steakhouse, so I asked the server if it was cow meat or some other animal. We also ordered fingerling potatoes which were under cooked and also hard to chew. The beet salad was fantastic. The craft drinks very good. The service was impeccable. I have eaten here before and the food was. Great. Perhaps they got a bad shipment of beef. But they certainly shouldn't be serving it to people.

An extreme lack of professionalism, a disregard for customer service and inability to create a positive memorable experience is why I will never return to urban farmer. Simply put, Treat the customer like you would want to be treated. Period.

Food is always fantastic. This is actually the best steak house in Portland in my opinion. Excellent cuts, dry aged, and always cooked perfectly. The service is always always friendly and good. Yonathan is the best server we've had there!

First the bartender is fantastic. Make sure you have them make you a Buddha Bird. Best cocktail ever! I had the Caesar salad, wild mushrooms and the rib eye. Just an incredible meal. Next time in Portland I will try to loaded potato tart. It sounds amazing. Thanks for a great experience.

Beyond disappointed in the service we received for our friend's 40th birthday last weekend. Our friends had a private room rented out for a special evening and our entire party was "cut off", after most of our party had only received one round of drinks due to extremely slow service. The manager, Peter, was very unprofessional and reasoned his decision based on the "tone" of one of the guests in our party, who was merely questioning the slow service. I personally attempted speaking with him calmly and reasoning with him, but he abruptly spoke over me and said, "let me give you bullet points". Completely disrespectful and demeaningThe restaurant was not very busy and it seems as if they may have just been understaffed. Nevertheless, we can understand that serving a larger party can be tasking and wait time could be longer. However, we had 25 guests in our party that had to leave our pre-paid reserved private room an hour early due to the manager, Peter's irrational decision making. Our party attempted going to Departure, the rooftop restaurant at the Nines, where we were abruptly turned away as Peter had prohibited them from serving us as well. Our experience at The Nines Hotel restaurants were marred by Peter's poor management and unacceptable treatment of our party. It is so disappointing to see such disregard for customer satisfaction and basic hospitality. We will not be returning to The Nines, Urban Farmer, and Departure, and will be sure to share our experience with others urging them to steer clear until significant improvements have been made in both management and service.

Thinking of hosting an event?? Don't!! Worst service and experience ever. I attended a birthday party here and from the beginning the server encouraged us to order two drinks because the bar was taking a long time. Long time was an understatement. 30+ minutes to get a drink because there was one bartender for a private party that paid ahead for an hosted drinks for guests and a full Saturday night restaurant at Urban Farmer. The biggest issue lack of communication. There should have been more information from the manager Peter. He was unprofessional and cut the party off at 9, and the end time was 10. No reason but calling party members "aggressive" no warning that they would no longer be serving guests. The average guest only had 1-2 drinks!!!. The only ones to provide good service were Petra and Billy up at departure who also seems to be a bit confused by Peter's decision to cut people off. Don't waste your time and book at the Ritz instead.

We enjoyed our family dinner. Good food and we were very happy six people could sit at a round table. The plants surrounding the table gave a feeling of privacy in an otherwise open space. My only negative comment is that I felt the wine bottle pricing was on the high side.

Disappointed. Had a 5 pm reservation for dinner before a show at the Keller. Drinks arrived promptly and were good; but our food took over an hour to come out! And hardly anyone was there! I also expected much better food for the money. Our salads all tasted over salted. Really I would probably not come here again.

Overpriced for what he was. Trout wasn't special. Charcuterie board was lack luster. Steak, drinks and Mac and cheese were fantastic. However- it seemed as if I was paying more for ambiance than food quality.

Situated in a huge atrium within the Nines hotel. Food is always great there with a huge selection of scotch.

Our server was taking a while to take our order. The manager noticed and took over. He was super quick and nice. We even joked around with him a bit. He has a great sense of humor. We ordered three coffees that he said were on the house because of the delay. I would go back.

Quite enjoyable food. A great wine list. Hard working wait staff. A few suggestions. Please inform your waiters on the cuts of beef you are serving. Also if you offer a cheese plate (ignoring that it should be after the mains and not an appetizer) your staff should know or have an easy paper to describe the cheeses being offered. More than just a “blue and a cheddar.” Again the staff worked hard and we love them but if you are trying to be a certain level steakhouse and restaurant you should do this. We loved our meal and experience.

Dined on a Sunday night. The restaurant was about half full and the noise level was low which make it really nice for conversation. Our food and our service was excellent. The brussel sprouts with cranberry pesto and saba were outstanding. We would definitely go back.

I'm always considering the price to value to experience. Ultimately there wasn't a dish that really stood out. The service was excellent, but $250 plus for two people and 3 drinks is out of line with this experience. Its not upscale enough for this price point.
