“We stopped in to What's New furniture for the first time last week and were so impressed by the selection of furniture and the prices and the friendly people working there! We had been looking for a few new pieces of furniture and they had exactly what we were looking for. We ended up getting a beautiful teak dining table, midcentury walnut dining chairs, and a beautiful grey blue sofa. The employees were absolutely wonderful, kind, and helpful and we were able to take advantage of the Memorial Day sale (thank you!!!!)! Our furniture was delivered so quickly and efficiently. It was truly such a great experience! Highly recommend!!!! :D”
“We love this place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Be sure to check out the trash panda shrine and community space -- too cool. Dont miss the very reasonably priced selection of used records.
It is also in a fun neighborhood with other neat shops (vintage, records, and more) and great places to eat/drink”
“This place has great vibes, great prices, and great inventory. The rooms just kept appearing and we spent over an hour just perusing!! Plus they have a little bookshelf with some bangers, a selection of funny repurposed trophies, and art! This place really has it all. You’ll regret not going here if you’re a thrifter, and even if you’re not! 5/5 stars.”
“Zoe is a fantastic shopkeeper and all around great person. Very kind and gave great advice on all my pieces. Nice to meet great people in cute boutiques like this around the Portland area! Will definitely be recommending to all my friends who are looking for unique pieces!”
“We had such a good experience dealing with Red Snapper. Michael went the extra mile for us and we are impressed by his integrity and honesty. We would recommend Red Snapper to everyone”
“This place is an eternal treasure trove of beautiful, rare finds. I always leave with a smile on my face, a record I've longed for, or a record I never knew I wanted, a previously loved book of any variety of genre, maybe some colorful vintage pants, a piece of local crafted art, and a full heart from good connection with fellow shoppers and with Jesse and Kristen. Broken Dreams is a true Portland gem !”
“I really enjoy shopping here and have found some great pieces, but I’ve started to notice some frustrations with the selling process. The biggest issue for me is the lack of transparency. When I bring in high-quality items, they often sell, but I don’t see much of the profit. I also have no idea how much the store sells my items for, since you only find out what you earned afterward. On top of that, if an item doesn’t sell, it may end up being donated without much communication.
I still appreciate the store, but I think clearer information about pricing, profit sharing, and what happens to unsold items would make the experience a lot better for sellers”
“I love this shop! At first it looks like you’re about to walk into a club but it reveals a cool vintage clothing & witchy crystal shop. I had two tarot readings with Carey who is very insightful. Her readings really help with getting the brain juices flowing when you’re at a crossroad. The employees have always been very friendly and helpful.”
“Honestly, one of the best clothing stores in Portland. Exceptional selection and very well-curated. I bought a few pieces for some female friends of mine and they loved the style.”
“We went here and got a bunch of maternity clothing from Sara and her store. She was SO helpful and is extremely chipper and friendly. I'll be recommending her to all my pregnant friends and friends with small children. I was able to get a new swimsuit for $12, a pair of jeans for $15, new shorts for $10, a fun dress for $18.50- her prices are so affordable. This was after stopping at 3 other shops and not finding anything we liked. Definitely try this shop out!”
“Pretty great place! All in all it’s just a “Goodwill Highlight Reel” but there’s plenty of nostalgia to make up for the prices. Expect to find T-shirts that were once around $5 at your local goodwill, for $45. They also had some pretty cool “The Crow” trading cards. Go Brandon Lee! Bring your film cameras here, great place for vintage pictures that’ll make your friends think you can time travel.”
“New to town and I wondered in the store after eating dinner. The owner was super friendly and welcoming. I bought a few crystals and perused the items. Definitely will have to return so I can look at things better. There was so much to see and so much jewelry that was gorgeous.”
“Purchased some overalls for my wife from Flutter at the famous Mississippi street fair and of course got the wrong size! They exchanged happily a few days later. Very nice attentive service, thank you”
“This is an excellent thrift store! The atmosphere and item curation are boutique-y, while the prices are very reasonable. When I was browsing it seemed like a majority of items are in the $10-20 range. It's also a wonderful nonprofit. I'll definitely be coming back!”
“Store is an amazing collection of mid century, contemporary, and Asian furniture in decor at amazing prices. The staff are friendly and helpful. Went for the first time today "just to look" and came home with a beautiful antique table. They offer a unique mix of options and appear to have new items moving through frequently. Don't forget to check out bar ware in the basement!”
“this place is legit - you can find actual real quality vintage selection here, none of that cheap modern garbage u know what i mean. i've found some bangers here every time. goooo!”
“I love this place and recommend it to folks in the nabe or visitors. They have a super well curated and seasonal selection that makes shopping here fun and unique every time I come thru. The staff is great and relaxed, and I'm so happy to have this place so close. Many fits picked out last minute here.”
“Love love LOVE this place! They have so many different things they offer, from furniture, clothing, knickknacks, toys and more! I highly recommend checking them out! Prices are very reasonable!”
“This is exactly what you want from a thrift store! There is an excellent selection of vintage tees, jackets, and denim. Definitely some high quality pieces and hidden gems if you take the time to look. And everything is reasonably priced as well.”
“Absolute gem on Division. I don't think I've ever walked out of their empty-handed. They're always getting new stuff and the selection is very well curated.”
“This is the best vintage shop in NoPo! Very well curated and stocked with goodies.
Stephanie (the owner) is not only knowledgeable, but is a great person; I will never forget seeing her passing-out warm clothing from her store stock to the housless community during a cold winter day in the St. Johns' Square. What a badass!”
“Modo was extremely helpful. I brought in a lot of clothes and they quickly responded. I especially like the fact that the clothes they didn't think would sell, they donated to Rose Haven, a wonderful refuge for women.”
“Zig Zag is a fantastic local second-hand clothing store, a little bit of everything for adults. There are lots of great shirts, jackets, and sweaters. Fun t-shirts to browse through, and the employees are all generally happy. Fun to shop where the employees like what they do.”
“i have shopped here twice and i have gotten some of my favorite pieces in my closet each time!!!! love love love this small shop. also want to add they have a wonderful selection of plus size clothing!”
“Lovingly curated, adorable & chic little boutique with a bit of everything. Bought a very nerdy zine and a cute dress, could've spent hours there with someone else's money. :)”
“Why purchase new lower quality items for a higher price when you can buy high quality upcycled items for a discount? This woman owned business provides a peaceful space for people to carefully select pieces that make them feel beautiful, while also feeling good about their purchase. Check out one of their hosted 'Sip & Shops', an event to browse the racks and enjoy some bubbles at the same time. You can also snag some of the highly sought out items from Baggu and Borough Homes here. Try the borough home perfume rollers (trust me ). See you again soon! Thanks for my treasures!”
“I didn’t get the lovely lady’s name who runs this but she did tell me she collected this stuff and I can’t tell you how beautiful the jewelry was. She pulled out a box just for me to look through and I found some beautiful pieces she even gave me 20% off and a super good deal and my boyfriend a free machete it was fantastic in there i definitely say this is the place for amazing antique and jewelry everything girly”
“This is one of my favorite little shops to stop by whenever I'm walking around on division. They always have the cutest clothes and Jewelry for great prices too. I totally recommend checking it out.”
“Shopping at Xtabay may be the most exquisite vintage shopping experience I've ever had (and I shop at a lot of vintage stores!). The store is breathtakingly beautiful and well-curated. I imagine this is what it would have been like shopping at fancy department stores back in their heyday. I'm not local, but I always stop into Xtabay when I visit Portland. Every boutique should aspire to be this exceptional!”
“The entire staff here are upbeat, friendly and extremely helpful. Prices are good and their inventory is always changing which is great. If you're looking for an aftermarket shoe/clothing/memorabilia this is definitely the place!”
