Beautiful smelling candles and not too overpowering. They are always helpful and friendly when I go in. So lucky to have this store in our neighborhood!

Wild Mountain Wax Co. is truly a treasure, especially knowing that the owner, Heather is the dedicated candle maker behind the scents and pours. Every time I walk in, I'm surrounded by PNW vibes and artistry, where the scents of nature mingle with the creations of local talent. Knowing that I'm not just purchasing a candle, but a piece of Heather's passion and creativity, makes the experience even more special. It's more than a shop; it's a sanctuary of local talent and mindful craftsmanship, offering nontoxic candles that bring warmth and joy to any space.

I went Christmas present shopping at Wild Mountain Wax twice this past week and am blown away by how lovely ALL their candles smell. I am picky about fragrance and couldn’t pick a favorite scented candle because they all smell so euphoric. So many other very tasteful, non-candle gifts as well. I am not a big retail shopper, so I was happy to find so many options of nice gifts in this one convenient little shop. Low-key lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, great quality and price points. I will be treating myself after the holidays to some of their candles. Don’t hesitate to check this place out!

Fantastic coasters, candles, smores kits, cards, and jewelry. I did most of my Christmas shopping here last year, and the gifts were a hit! The Miir wood wrapped mugs were the most favorited.

I bought a candle here bc I wanted a high quality candle that was made from quality products. I've worked my way through about half of the candle and I'm pretty pleased with my experience. The candles are a touch more expensive than I've paid in the past but they last for an incredibly long time so I think the money to time ratio is actually pretty good. A lot of higher end candles don't last very long which is why I was a bit sceptical when I first bought it. But I've enjoyed my purchase and expect to return!

I saw this gem on my way out from Hammer and Jacks and I was blown away. Kim was so kind and shared their time, product knowledge and was even kind enough to point out their favorite/must have products. The stores neutral palate makes you feel comfortable and if that doesn’t do it they actually have a couch to sit down at!

Finally got to stop in to check this place out and it was lovely. Nicely curated assortment of gift items and home accessories as well as incredible candles. I have a difficult time finding scents that don't give me a headache and I managed to find two candles that smell great and don't make me feel sick.

Very few candles get lit in my household that are not from Wild Mountain Wax (see below)! I absolutely love the dedication the owners put into ensuring that each product they sell is top-quality. Take a look at my notes below to maximize your experience and avoid any disappointmentsBURN TIME: The burn time IS as advertised (~45 hrs), but ONLY when burning and maintaining the candles as directed. I had no idea that candles require a small bit of care and proper maintenance, so be sure to look closely at this on their website and on the inside of the lid! It’s not difficult at all, you just need to know. They are not made to be lit infrequently, for very long durations. When I plan to have a candle lit for more than a couple hours, I use my TJ Maxx candles!SIZE: The website is transparent about them being in 8 oz. jars, but the first time one comes, 8 oz. is inevitably smaller than you realize. Don’t be alarmed. Again, if the wick is properly trimmed, the first burn is performed correctly, and you use it in <3-4 hour spurts, it will last a long time!COMPANY: This is a woman-owned small business in Oregon that is very communicative with their customer base on social media, and is dedicated and committed to supporting the local community and other small businesses. To me, this is worth a few dollars more than the mass-produced, commercialized candles that are created under extremely saddening work conditions.

This quaint little shop was a fun treat. The candles are so amazing and even made in house. The shop featured Black artist and makers. We purchased a Rise Up candle and 100% of the profits of this candle go to The Black Resilience Fund; a non-profit that is dedicated to fostering healing and resilience by providing immediate and direct financial assistance to Black Portlanders.
