Word Virus Books is a small, cozy, and gorgeous independent bookshop. It is a lovely, welcoming, and warm space with a terrific, well curated, and expert selection. The shop houses a large and wide variety of literary fiction, poetry, international and foreign literature, memoir, and film theory. It is a comfortable place to sit, read, and slow down, easily a favorite in Portland.

Small shop but it has one of the best-curated selection of books I’ve ever seen: fiction, poetry, philosophy, small magazines, lots of translated stuff.

Finest selection of books on offer in the city. Every obscure book I’ve sought after for years has been located in near-perfect condition here. Kind, helpful, deeply knowledgeable staff.
