We had a late check in due to some car trouble but our hosts were so understanding the rooms were perfect and the bed was so cozy.

This a really remote little town. Really friendly people there with good old fashion hospitality. You're treated with respect and with personalized service. We were well received and told the low down on all the beautiful hiking and good fishing going on all around that area. It's nestled in the forest with the sounds of nature all around. The nearby Rogue River (at this point is still not much more than a creek) can be heard not far from the main road. Just a beautiful place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Where your thoughts are as clear as the river water.

This is one of the better places to stay near Crater Lake, the south entrance is about 40min away. The room we got was quite nice. The breakfast arrangement was interesting - you need to schedule it in advance so they can prepare it for you fresh, and they have table service. It was a very good experience.

Everything is awesome just avoid the motel rooms on the street. The traffic was loud. But the motel rooms are very clean and very nice.

What it might lack in some modern facilities, it makes up in charm. Yes, rooms are mostly really small, the bed is as well and the wood creaks at every move you make but the service, peaceful surroundings and breakfast are great. WiFi was ok but hotel was not full so may have played a role. Dinner was very nice as well and they have an awesome wine and beer selection. There is no elevator and airco is controlled centrally.Crater Lake is about 45-60 mins with some interesting stops along the way as well.

It is a great place. We didn't get to enjoy the water falls nearby. But the building was beautifully kept. Dinner was enjoyable as well. Our room was surprisingly small, but was very nice.

Beautiful location near Crater lake. Pet frendly. My dog loves it here as do we. I'm definitely not judging the food as we brought our own. We have WiFi but no phone service which is a plus. The vintage clock works great as does the 50 lb TV. The Shining is on tonight, definite plus. I feel like time has stopped here. I feel young again. 80/90s decor is oddly fresh, like I stepped through a time portal. The price is amazing and the location is worth a drive to Crater lake. Highly recommended! Don't visit if your nose is so high that you smell your toots, there's a fancy schamcy lodge for that.Rooms: Vintage & funNearby activities: Crater Lake and waterfallsWalkability: I'm broken and get along well.

The motel room was clean, maintained and appliances in working order. Parking is easy and close to the door. I found the bed to be comfortable. I was able to fit my large suitcase on the rack setting up between the mini fridge and bathroom counter. Housekeeping does not service rooms during your stay (post covid) but readily addresses guest needs. All staff encounters were pleasant and the office was very helpful, even encouraging, about visiting nearby trails to waterfalls and other land features. They also have some good ghost stories, if you ask!Nearby activities: I chose this location, in part, for its good proximity to Crater Lake National Park. There are also nature trails and marked pull outs to observation areas nearby to appreciate the many water features in the area.Walkability: There are other dining options, a post office, a country store and nature trails within walking distance.Food & drinks: I had two meals at the dinner house during my stay. The prime rib is deliscious! The salmon is also a nice option presenting a nicely sized fillet.

Unique historic hotel with such an interesting history. All of the grounds are breathtaking surrounded by waterfalls. My friend and I stayed in their suite. It was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Endless delicious meals and just an overall lovely welcoming place..

We decided to book here for 2 days while visiting Crater Lake. We stayed in the "Roosevelt Room" which is on the second floor of a 3 story historic inn. Our private bathroom was down the public hall ( but we had a balcony we never used). The room was comfortable and the mattress was good. The walls were thin and I slept very poorly. We had a young couple above us and they stayed up late talking and moving, not anything outrageous and the area has few choices and the inn was sold out. The restaurant did a good job in friendliness. Courtney greeted us with a smile and awesome service for breakfast and dinner during our stay.Nearby activities: Crater Lake was a 30 minute drive through a beautiful pine forest.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but small in our opinion. We are aware that they had different rooms, we didn’t really get to pick and not sure what the other prices were, the one we had did not have a tv, no fridge and no microwave. We were told it has kitchenette on the phone but it didn’t. We just needed a place to stay before heading to Crater Lake. Food was a little pricey. We read the previous reviews and had our expectations too high, it was still good though. We originally booked a room with no breakfast included but we got a call from them a day before our check in that the room we booked is actually not available anymore so we asked for a different option and the was given a different room, it cost more with breakfast included, from $135 to $200+. We were very excited for breakfast and again had high expectations. Service was amazing, food was good but nothing very special. We wouldn’t have paid extra for breakfast if we had a choice. This review is just based on our opinion. We recognize that a lot of people love this place especially the history part of it which we did as well. As a couple in our 30’s , it was a different experience for us but the hotel provided us with what we needed for the night.

Upon checking in, I made the desk clerk aware that we had 2 service animals. She informed me that a pet fee would be added to our bill. I again restated that they were service animals and not pets. She informed me it didn't matter, and it was the policy of the hotel to charge the pet fee. A man, who I later found out to be Fred, the owner / manager, came from the office, which was in ear shot, and told me that people pull this scam all the time and he would not be scammed. I informed him I was not scamming him. He asked me 2 questions, which I answered appropriately, and then he asked me exactly what my disability was that the dogs assisted with. I told him he couldn't ask that. My dog was 50 feet away from me in the car with my wife. He never saw the dog. He then later, in a rebuttal of another review, used that as an excuse along with the fact that my dogs had service animal vests on stating that was at tell tale sign that I was scamming him. I also have gone the extra step of registering the dogs as service animals. He again used that as an excuse to say I was scamming him. The room available was in the motel section of the establishment. It looked like it was out of a Norman Bates movie. The carpet has many, many years on it and is dirty looking and smelling. The bed was so uncomfortable and smelly that I didn't sleep all night. The shower was so low that I had to almost get on my knees to shower. I'm 5'9", and the shower head was around my neck. Upon trying to check out at 7:10 a.m., the registration area was locked. I used the after hour's telephone to call someone only to receive a voice-mail from Fred stating he was not available. There was a doorbell there, so I rang it a few times, nobody came. I noticed another quest had left their keys on the ground next to the door, so I did the same, making sure to video myself leaving the key. In all the Fred, the manager/owner was rude, the place is very outdated, not talking about the historic part I'm talking about the motel, which does not include or have the availability of having breakfast, some B and B. The bed is old, uncomfortable, and smelly. The shower is made for people of about 5 feet in height. In the end, I paid right at $200.00 for maybe $50.00 a night room. That price includes a t shirt I bought for my wife before I met Fred. Now holding true to form here will come Fred blaming me for everything wrong with his establishment. It appears to me he prejudice against veterans and disabled people. We will never stay here again.

Enjoyed seeing how much care was put into this historic hotel. The quilts and crochet/knits were beautiful. They have a binder in your room full of local stories and things to do. The guest fridge in a common room was handy. It is about an hour from the Rim visitor center of Crater Lake and was a treat to rest our tired bodies here at this quiet and welcoming space after hiking and long drive of our road trip. If you're hoping for an super early start to Crater Lake lake and doing their breakfast, it may not work for you (8:30 earliest seating when we went) but if you can be more leisurely with your plans, the coffee and breakfast is lovely. Our room was very comfortable from bed to air temperature. The staff at the front desk had a wealth info to share about Crater Lake hikes.Rooms: Our room was very comfortable from bed to air temperature. The water got hot very quickly and was nice. Loved the fluffy towels.Food & drinks: We had the breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. The staff and chef were phenomenal, checking on us regularly and deliciously seasoned food cooked to perfection. My salmon dinner was so flavorful, usually veggies on the side are bland, but not here! For breakfast, I appreciate that they had eggs and the best yogurt granola parfait for my gluten free needs. You may be lucky enough to buy some granola to take home too (at the front desk).

Beautiful setting in the woods with a great menu to enjoy while staying. Lovely, elegant dining room below the old-time rooms of yesteryear, ...with handmade quilts and antique decor. I'l be bringing friends back for their Prime Rib dinner, which is known in the area and quite reasonably priced. We sat on the porch swing and rockers and visited with the Louisiana guests.
