About Douglas County Fairgrounds
Douglas County Fairgrounds offers a variety of experiences for visitors. The fairgrounds are large and host events like the fair and Graffiti Weekend, featuring local bands, a car show, and fun games. The fair itself provides family-friendly entertainment with animal barns, cheerleading acts, bubble stands, and opportunities for children to pet animals like ducks, cows, and bunnies. The fair is smaller and more relaxed compared to bigger fairs, making it less stressful and more enjoyable for families. Food options include local vendors and fair favorites like shaved ice and ice cream, though some reviews mention higher prices and questionable food quality, with undercooked fries and questionable hot dogs. Vendors and food lines can be busy, and there is some concern about water availability during hot weather, as outside water is not allowed and vendor restrictions have caused confusion. For camping, the Douglas County Fairgrounds provides gravel sites with electric and water for $30 per night. Bathrooms are located across the street and are open from 8 am to 8 pm, with friendly camp hosts. The grounds are easy to access with assigned parking, and exiting is straightforward. Some visitors note a lack of signs and maps upon entering, and the buildings could use better signage. Overall, the fairgrounds are a fun and affordable place for family activities, with a friendly atmosphere and a variety of events, though some improvements in signage, vendor variety, and food pricing could enhance the experience.
Decent reasonably priced place to camp. Gravel sites with electric and water for 30$/nt. Bathrooms are across the street and only open from 8a-8p. Camp host is very nice.
