Dave at the branch manager downtown Salem branch retired and he was amazing. I've always had excellent customer service from his staff and wouldn't change banks for some corporate bank promotion.

I just moved here and need quarters for laundry. I don't have a local bank and was checking out Umpqua since it is near my job. A very smarmy man informed me that quarters are too expensive for them to just trade out with any random person, so I would have to open an account. No thanks. I expect my bank to treat everyone fairly and respectfully. I will warn my friends to stay away.

Just went to this location to try to close my account as I was waiting outside the main doors. One of the staff opens the door and ask how can I help you. I tell her I would like to close my account today due to lack of customer service in the bank deciding it's okay to play with my money reversing multiple transactions of up to $800 when I was only $200 negative in my account. The lady then tells me. Oh well, we can't close your account through the drive-thru and our office is closed due to inclement weather. Yet she was able to open the door just to tell me I had to go to another office to do so. I then go to the South Salem location to let them know I would like to close my account and the manager of this office ask me well. Are there any reasons I can give you to stay with us? I told her my experience with them playing with my money reversing multiple transactions of up to $800 when I was only $200 negative in my account and how downtown office told me that I had to go to another branch to close my account because they are unable to do it through drive-thru. And the manager tells me oh that's weird. They should have been able to do it through the drive-thru. I don't know why they did not. All I got was a sorry. That does not fix the gas. I wasted after already losing money over my past experience. Columbia Bank decided to make me waste even more money by having me drive a 20 minute drive. I highly advise to never do business with this bank. They show no respect and no customer service whatsoever. Chase on the other hand shows outstanding customer service and if you provide them with a coupon code that you can obtain online they will deposit $225 into your account after your first direct deposit.

Refused to help me with $70 worth of overdraft charges for $0.16 and $.015 charges during a worldwide pandemic because I was overdrawn already for buying groceries and trying to pay my bills.

Nice bank. Very clean and professional looking. Drive-through available.Ample parking. Very close to downtown.
