Food is always fantastic, and staff are very nice even on a crowded Saturday morningVegetarian options: Ask for veggie sausage patties in any sandwiches, they're great!

Hard to beat a cappuccino from Isaac's Downtown. It's consistently perfect. We really enjoy that they use Sister's Coffee for perfect balance between roast PNW coffees and a more tame roast. Awesome cup, and the food is good too.

I used to really like this place, but finally had give up on. At the times I wanted to go, it was impossible to find a seat. They only have one cashier station, and the line is often backed up to the door. So I stand in line for 10 minutes, then can't find a seat. Not worth it anymore. Also, quality of staff seems to have declined, while prices have gone up. I'll find a new spot.Parking: Difficult to find on street. Better to park in a downtown lot and walk over.

My first visit, I ordered a bagel and unfortunately experienced a lengthy wait of over 30 minutes. It appears that I was overlooked due to the tension among the workers, with one male individual constantly monitoring the worker helping me and criticizing her actions as "wrong."Despite this, I was graciously offered a complimentary cookie for the extended wait, while other customers around me had already received their orders and departed. For my second visit I opted to utilize the mobile app to avoid another prolonged wait. The app indicated a 10-minute wait time. Upon my arrival approximately 15 minutes later I approached the front to inquire about my order for pickup. As the app does not provide an option for add-ons I was required payment of the difference in-store (which is no problem). I appreciated the opportunity to settle the payment without waiting for the remainder of customers to order.Despite these efforts, my order was still not ready prompting me to wait another 10 minutes. Upon reminding the staff that it had almost been 30 minutes since placing my order and expressing my need to depart, a staff member retrieved the bagel from the back. Upon reaching my destination, I discovered that the additional item I had paid for in-store had not been included with the bagel. I returned to the shop to address the oversight, only to feel dismissed. At that point I had requested for a refund, as I was already late for work and unable to enjoy my meal.Regrettably, I was informed that the refund process would be attended to at a later time, leaving me concerned about the resolution and potential need for further action. It appears that the expectations of this coffee shop may not align with my preferences for efficient service. Consequently, I will have to seek an alternative coffee shop for future visits.

Isaac’s is a decent contender for the top coffee shop in downtown. It’s a busy spot and the coffee is pretty good, although the attention to detail with the espresso is a little lacking. My Americano was fine, but it had a little bite to it, as if it was underextracted. But like I said, it’s busy, and weighing and dosing your espresso takes time. It’s a cozy enough place to hang out and get some work done. I didn’t order food, so I can’t speak to that. My experience wasn’t bad by any means, but nothing really stood out to me either, except that the cafe is bright and clean and inviting.

Second coffee of the day and office for a couple of hours, I was here with a *perfect* cortado. Yes, absolutely perfect. If you're not drinking cortado, you need to order one next time.A little loud and quite busy but comfortable. It's nice to find properly made #LocalCoffee.Parking: Street parking.

Isaac's is a great place to have some coffee and a bite to eat. Reminds me of coffee shops pre evil empire of coffee.. Make the time to go have some coffee and something to eat.

Despite the long line (because this place is popular), I was greeted quickly and my drink was prepared right away. My hot cocoa is delicious!Kid-friendliness: Offer kid friendly items on the menu.

I come here all the time and have been meaning to review. This place is amazing! I have never had anything that I don’t like. It’s often pretty busy, but if you get a seat it’s very cozy.A lot of the options are a little more “fancy”, but I typically get the more basic breakfast sandwich and it’s honestly better than eating out almost anywhere else in town for me. I come here for food just as much as for their delicious coffee. They have tons of fun new seasonal twists to try, too! It’s just all around excellent. Excellent food, excellent service, excellent vibes.

Isaac's is my favorite coffee shop in Salem. They have great drinks and food and the mission of the organization is amazing. They have quick service, their coffee is tasty, their smoothies are good, their avocado toast is delicious, and they are very friendly. I look forward to seeing you there!

3.75 stars. Overall, I like this place although I found it just a wee bit pretentious. The bagels are amazing, the service felt slightly unwelcoming (at least for a first time visitor), and the space is really pretty. I'd definitely give it another go. The bagels themselves had good texture, the sandwich fillings were delicious, and the accompanying flavored coffee was a winner. I'll note it was quite busy on my visit so that likely contributed to my experience.
