The Willamette Heritage Center offers a step back in time on its five-acre property, home to fourteen historic structures. It weaves together the story of the Mid-Willamette Valley, from the Kalapuya people to 19th century missionaries, Oregon Trail travelers, and Salem’s industrial past. It is a great place to spend an afternoon with interesting and inclusive history displays. The venue is also noted as one of the best to rent in Oregon, with great staff, well-taken-care-of facilities, and great meeting rooms. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful setting, the on-site Taproot restaurant, and free parking. Museum self-guided tours are available Wednesdays through Saturdays.
What a treasure this place is. I'm going to have to go back because we didn't have time to see it all. A quaint reminder of yesteryear. The mission buildings, the wool mill, the grounds. Plenty of parking. We had breakfast there, too, which was fabulous. And we were fabulously cared for by Rachel. A great experience!

We recently took a tour with Heather, and she was an absolute delight. Really cool place to spend your afternoon in Salem with history displays that are very interesting and inclusive. The staff clearly loves this place and Heather made our tour extra special!

A small gem in Salem, understanding the history of fabric and wool, it's a cool place to visit with your family.
