Motel 6 in Salem, OR, offers budget-friendly accommodations with a mix of positive and negative experiences from guests. The motel is located in a sketchy neighborhood, which raises safety concerns, especially at night. While the staff is frequently praised for their friendly and helpful service, the overall environment can feel unsettling. Rooms vary in condition; some guests report clean and well-maintained spaces with modern designs, while others note issues such as dirty air vents, hair on blankets, and insufficient bathroom amenities. The absence of a pool, replaced by picnic tables, has disappointed some visitors, but the air conditioning works well. Noise can be a problem due to thin walls, and while some rooms are quieter when on higher floors, complaints about loud toilets and shower heads have been noted. Pet owners appreciate the motel's dog-friendly policy, though some guests have encountered disturbances from barking dogs. Though there are areas for improvement, such as mattress firmness and overall safety, many guests find it a reasonable option for a quick stay in Salem, especially for those traveling on a budget.
Nice hotel. But the room cost me $98 for the night.

Sketchy area . Service was very friendly but the air vent in the bathroom was dirty and falling off there was also hair attached to the blankets on our beds .

Thin walls, loud, sketchy neighborhood. Staff was helpful and nice, probably the best part of our stay. Did not feel safe walking around at night. But safe enough to stay in the room for 1 night to pass through Salem on a budget. Skip Pietro's Pizza, order in.
