I just had a propane freestanding stove installed and Henry was very meticulously and the result was perfect along with his helper Dakota. I highly recommend their workmanship and professionalism.

If you are looking for quality work; great ownership, and guaranteed friendly service, hire this company. I have been using them for years and they just did a complete chimney rebuild with a 10 year warranty waterproof sealant at my moms house. Best looking chimney on her block. Murphy’s crew came out today to clean and inspect my wood stove insert. They were very professional and exceeded my expectations compared to previous times I’ve had this done in the past with other companies. Kudos to Nathan and his co-worker.

I cold called this company to have my fireplace inspected and swept. The results were not what I wanted to hear BUT the video and kind support of the inspector Paul (the owner) helped deflect the shock that the fireplace was very dangerous. Subsequently, I worked with Stephanie and various members of the the team. I purchased a wood fireplace insert and all the the necessary supplies and installation. I changed my order like 5 days prior to the set date and was met with NO guilt or resistance by this business-Stephanie was fantastic and represents the company with unconditional respect and regard.
I had to have the cresole removed which freaked me out! Then a new liner, insert placed into my small fireplace. ZERO fumes and no olfactory picked up by their process.
This company was amazing! Every person I dealt with was professional, knowledgable, knew when to refer my question and extremely tidy and efficient. I am very thorough and selective as a consumer and Murphy's exceeded my expectations. These guys and gals are the real meal deal... I just moved to Salem and have zero connection to these people. I more than highly recommend this company if you need any fireplace work done!

Still waiting to get the noise fixed ??? Just payed over 7000.00 for brand new fireplace and can't handle the obnoxiously loud noise. I had to wait almost a month for someone to come out. And the noise is even louder now. It's hard to believe that this is even happening. My husband is a disabled veteran I have post-traumatic stress disorder really bad and the noise is just unbearable to even use the fan. UPDATE thank you for fixing the problem with in a week, nothing but grateful. Sorry to speak out before scheduling a return visit really appreciate the rush to fix it. A new fan was installed. Great job ?????

Thank you to Angela for helping me through all my rescheduling issues!!! Nathan did an amazing job cleaning and servicing our gas fireplace and cleaning our rooftop dryer vent. Not only did he explain things but he was very neat and tidy. Plus he was very friendly. I am so pleased with the work and level of service!! Thank you for taking such good care of us!

I was very frustrated with the rescheduling...once due to snow (understandable) but the next two times were not ok...luckily someone was available at those times or I would have to take time off or move my schedule to accomodate their rescheduling...thankful once it got done

My experience with Murphy's was outstanding from start to finish. I called when I needed a chimney cap. They came to my home and provided a free estimate. Murphy's had it built and installed in a few weeks as promised at a reasonable price. The craftsmanship on the stainless steel cap was fantastic. I appreciated their consistent communication all the way through. I've dealt with many businesses in the trades and Murphy's excellence stands out.

Update 2/2/24: Henry came out and did an exceptional job of correcting the errors. I would definitely use Murphy’s again and be more diligent about inspecting all contractor’s work and addressing concerns before I sign the paper and handling over the remaining payment. Thanks Henry, Paul, and Stephanie for going above and beyond for your customers!Original post:Murohy’s did a subpar job of installing the gas insert. Although they followed proper installation procedures according to Regency’s soec, they failed to proper insulate the fireplace from cold drafts coming out from all sides of the stove. The owner Paul cane to assess and said he would send someone out to do a proper job but never followed up since. If I would choose another contractor, it would not be Murphy’s.

Nathan and a new employee inspected my two chimneys today. I had called because of gas odors in one room when I used the gas insert in my new home. They unstuck the two dampers at no cost and thoroughly inspected both chimneys. They were on time and very pleasant, as were the office staff. I have nothing but positive comments about their professionalism, assistance and knowledge.

Our fireplace has never looked better. We got our original quote from Paul who left us with options so we could make the best decision for us and our home. His quotes were very fair and reasonable for the options he gave us. Ryan, the masonry, left our fireplace looking sharp with the new stone backing. He took his time to do a thorough job and also took the time to explain what he was doing. His clean up was very appreciated as well. Stephanie is so friendly! Every time she called to set up appointments and payments you can feel the smile she has. We will definitely use Murphy's again should the need arise!

Courteous and skilled crew installed my new stove. The city inspector just left, pleased at the clearly perfect install. Reasonable prices. It mattered not I had purchased my stove elsewhere. They happily did their best for my small project.

Murphy's has done 4 jobs for us (chimney cleaning, stack repair, restoring slate tiles around the woodstove insert, and building an island/surround for a grill). We could not be more pleased with the quality of their workmanship and the care they took to make sure they got everything right the first time. There was absolutely no dust/debris left behind. It's a pleasure to do business with such great people, both in the office and in the field. Thanks to Paul, Stephanie, Nathan, Ryan, Corey and Dayton for all your hard work!
