Honestly when in west Salem, This Plaid Pantry is my go to for anything I need anytime. I love that your open 24/7. They have the best selection at the best prices from beer to candy, snacks, chips, drink deals, microwave meals and sandwitches. Way better than the other late night stores who we won't name. I just wish they hadn't stoped taking cans after 8 it was always nice to get a couple of bucks back.

This is one of the only convenient stores I will shop at...It isn't because the prices are great or the location...it is because the customer service is Amazing...Now by amazing I don't mean in the traditional sense...I mean in a way that makes you feel like your one of their close friends...One of the cashiers, her name is Ela, hope I spelled it right...is awesome at this...At first she can seem a little abrasive or aggressive, but usually that's because she's messing with a regular or actually is being a little abrasive because the customer base isn't uhhh well very good at being customers sometimes...Especially the ones that treat cashiers like servants or growl at you when you tell them no stealing beer...Anyways Ela is one of the best...Once you get to know her you find out that she is a very caring sweetheart with a great sense of humor and aninfectious smile...The rest of the cashiers I have interacted with are Awesome as well..Christina the Manager is a lot like Ela in this way..And Kevin the Assistant Manager is just an all around Bad A#@ Dude!! Keep up the good work Ya'll..

Usually I love to going to plaid pantry, because of the great prices and usually good staff.
But in this case I absolutely hated my experience and will not be returning to this location.
Read haired Lady Ella is so nasty to customers it's insane, that she is still employed after seeing all the bad reviews of her already.
Take a hint plaid pantry..

Ella with red hair is very rude to customers. I am baffled how rude and unprofessional she was. I will be calling corporate and sending them the video I captured of her being rude to a elderly man.

Rarely do I post a negative review because I understand how hard it can be to run a store. Unfortunately in this case I feel as if I have no choice. The redhead cashier was beyond unprofessional and downright unpleasant to interact with. Not only was she on a phone call (on speaker) the entire time I was in the store, she was rude with every interaction I witnessed. The worst was she berated a man for not knowing the type of phone charger he needed in front of multiple customers. She offered no help and purposely made fun of him and of course he left empty handed. Completely unprofessional. As a previous manager of a retail store I would have fired her on the spot. She is loosing this store business and should be replaced ASAP.

Love going to this Plaid. Always look forward to chatting with Ela or Kevin. Their customer service is awesome & I truly wish more people would be as friendly as them. Highly recommend this place.

I usually like this place but holy cannoli, I went in there today after a nice trip to Goodwill down the way and the lady there had a stick up her butt from the second my wife and I walked into the store.We went straight to the counter and my wife said "Where are your lighters?" and the lady was clearly already having a terrible day because she said in about the rudest tone "They're here behind the counter like always" like we're in there often enough to know where all the inventory is. I ignored it because I figured maybe she just sounded grumpy by accident. There were some normal Bic lighters and then the Bic ones with the extended little bit that the flame is produced at, and that's what we needed. Obviously I don't know the word for the extended one so I said "Can we have one of those that looks like it has a pointer finger?" and she just said "We don't have those", again in a wildly snarky tone. I had to tell her that not only does she have them, they're on the middle shelf. She turned around to face her lighters, smacked her hands on the counter like I asked her to push my car up a hill, and then shuffled some things around and said "We don't have them" but more aggressively this time. So I told her "If you really want, I'll reach around the counter and just grab it but I'm looking straight at them." Then she grabbed one of the ones that I wanted and handed it to me and said "Two dollars" angrily, and we paid and left.I have NO idea who this lady is, but she acted like we've been enemies for years lol. Didn't bother me too much, but I figured if you're the type to get fight-y, she is too so be careful. She was the middle aged portly lady that was there on 1/20/24 at 11:35. She could use a serious lesson regarding customer service. Most wildly inappropriate tone to use towards strangers who are trying to just buy a lighter I think I'll probably see in my life.
