On July 6, 2023, I asked Real Tech to do an inventory of my car and list the things that need repair. I was quoted $170 for such an evaluation. My top concern was a leaking gas tank, and I asked them to repair or replace the tank or any other part that was leaking gasoline. After Real Tech had the car for a day, I went to pick it up. They had made a list of needed repairs, and they said they had removed the gas tank and checked it and found no leak. Part of what they charged me for was $399.58 labor to remove and inspect the tank. The total charge for the evaluation and an oil change was $619.06.On August 14, I left the car with another repair shop that was supposed to complete most of the repairs Real Tech had identified. The mechanic at that shop told me that it was apparent that the gas tank had not been removed for inspection; in fact, gas was leaking from somewhere out of sight onto the exhaust pipe. So what did Real Tech charge me $399.58 for? This dangerous, greedy, and uncaring "Ooops!" by Real Tech could have cost me my life, and I have asked them by phone to refund my $399.58. They have not replied.

I took a vehicle in to Real Tech about 10+ years ago and had a great experience. Fast forward to a new vehicle and decided to return to Real Tech. The shop staff are great. They perform their work quickly and the suggestions are clearly listed. The color coding on the suggestions is appreciated to give it a visual as to what is ok or what needs work.Pricing is fair and there are oil change specials that are run which is nice. I also received a text from the General Manager following up on services that were provided. The waiting area is decent if you choose to stay and wait for results. There’s purified water, coffee and tea. Free wifi and plenty of food delivery options in the vicinity.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla that I purchased brand new in 07. I have almost 300,000 miles on that vehicle. Real Tech is always right there ready for an honest repair when necessary. Recently my newer vehicle, a 2018 Toyota Prius had the check engine light go on. Real Tech diagnosed the issue, and performed the repair under time AND under the original quoted price. I am thankful for Doug and his crew!Services: Auto engine diagnostic

Service writer put on original work order to allow for a $60.00 allowance if I spent over $500.00 This was their text message they sent to me after I spent $522.82 originally. Today I paid $2963.22 with no $60.00 credit that I could see. I requested this credit upon agreeing to the $2900+ work order as instructed by their text message. They want to know how they did before I can drive vehicle home. Give the customer TIME to acess the work performed BEFORE asking how they did. Car was kept for 2 days + when it should have been only one days work as they had car previously, so parts and service required were known.JohnServices: General repairs & maintenance

Took my 2017 RAM truck due to the brakes going out and we informed them of a noise the truck would make when turned on. We had a diagnostic done and were told that the brakes needed to be replaced front and rear, and the fan clutch needed to be replaced as well. To our surprise the grand total we were given was $4,220 parts and labor.I did my research and called an auto parts store to compare prices on all parts needed according to REAL TECH AUTO & TRUCK REPAIR and the grand total I got just for parts was $1,389 and the price REAL TECH gave me for ONLY parts was $2,973 labor $1,055 plus the diagnostic fee.I decided to call around different shops in town and all the quotes I was getting were WAY BELOW $4,220. Other shops averaged between $1,800-$2,100. Glad to say I got my truck fixed for a total price of $1,780. Saved myself $2,440. :)I went to Real Tech Auto & Truck Repair because of the good reviews but unfortunately our experience with them was not the best I am not sure why they were wanting to charge us double-triple the price amount. Sad to say this was very unprofessional and very untrustworthy of them. From my personal experience would not recommend them.

I regret leaving this sort of review because I really liked Real Tech in the past, but this latest repair is making me rethink using them in the future. Work performed was a rear brake replacement and the bill came to over $900, which was unexpected. The rotors were replaced; in the past it's usual practice to simply face them down if they are too grooved. There was no discount applied, which surprised me since I'd been a customer for several years and am also a senior. The emergency brake was also slipping a little when I picked up the vehicle and days afterward. This may be normal until the pads bed in, but I was not advised of the possibility upon completion of work. There was also an estimate done for a front end wobble that seemed like it required a more complicated repair than required to fix the issue, which made me wonder if the work (and thus the bill) was being "padded" with unnecessary items. Before getting this work done by Real Tech, I'm going to get some other comparative estimates from local shops. The car in question is a 2007 KIA Sportage with 180K miles on it, having an estimated book value of only $1500, so repairs to this vehicle must be considered in context. I've already resolved to do future oil changes and light maintenance myself.

They got me in and I said no problem with any time it takes. They gave me estimates daily with choices and time frame with parts and labor. It took a while, but I was not in a hurry and the repairs were done 100%. Not half way, but complete and up to my son's standards. Great job. We will be back and it's the best shop in Salem after 5 years of lousy service.Thanks. You guys are awesome. They are real folks who can say they don't know, but they will figure it out. This is worth more than any other shop I know. Honesty and integrity, well worth the price of service.Service: Electrical repair

Lack of communication and honesty. I talked to Travis several times for my car estimate and each time he would change the numbers. Overall I would not recommend this business if you are looking for an honest price for your car.

Replacing the entire computer systems, Both the main and control systems. The one component was unavailable from April until November. Travis was awesome and kept me informed. He also called around to wrecking yards to see if he could salvage the part from a wrecked Flex. Definitely would work with him again.
