The historic Reed Opera House is a business mall that houses a collection of locally owned businesses including retail stores; restaurants, cafes and desserts; beauty, tattoo and skin care salons; a convenience store, and professional services. At the crown of the building is the beautiful Reed Ballroom voted Best of the Willamette Valley for Wedding Venue, 2023. Early Oregon visionary Cyrus Reed began construction of the building in 1869 just four years after the end of the American Civil War and officially opened in September of 1870. Today the Reed continues its role as a center of activity in Salem's Downtown Historic District and is currently owned by Cumberland Holdings, LLC.
