Nice store, nice folks, but they seem to never staff sufficiently for checkout. Can't tell you the lines I've waited in. I'm travelling between Oregon and California and in all the Safeway's I visit this seems to be happening. Is this corporate direction to cut costs? I don't know, but I will curb my visits to stores going forward. Again, no issue with the people or products, but waiting in lines as long as I did last night and have been for a while is too much. Update 11/24/2022 - No change in what I wrote. I've essentially stopped shopping at Safeway for the most part and only go occasionally as needed.
06/12/2024 - Recently they have been out of produce. Went tonight and they were out of bananas. The produce area was sparse in general - a lot of empty space.

I had to go to self checkout 3 different times to get the bathroom code since she kept giving me the wrong one. The bathrooms are in the back of the store. Then I went to sandwich made when I was told that the man working there was too busy to make one and he didnt have enough staff for someone to make one, at the substation… I had no idea working at safeway was so tough. please give them a raise

The store was difficult to find things in. The yogart is on one isle the cottage cheese in on another. Couldn't find the single servings of organic cashews, almonds,was looking for pomegranate juice or pom nobody knew where it was or what it was. I was sent to a drink isle with warm stuff when I told them it's usually in a cooler. I was sent on opposite sides of the store by different people. Never found it. Nobody seemed to know where stuff was. Couldn't find dinner rolls. After a half hour I left. Definitely the most difficult safeway I have been to to navigate sadly.
