a cozy little hole-in-the-wall coffee shop, with a lovely selection of loose leaf teas.

We were driving through Salem on our way to the coast and stumbled into this coffee shop. So happy we did!! My favorite thing was a sign that said, "we filter coffee, not people." The vibe is very welcoming and we saw a huge variety of people inside. Bagels were excellent and my coffee was perfect (got the Mexican latte). The bathroom was large and clean. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Beautiful art and plants and lots to look at! This is our new favorite place when on our way to the coast!

The Governor's Cup is a wonderful café to pop open a laptop, check emails, read a book, and try something new. There's seating on the main floor and upstairs but they fill up fast. Bathrooms are upstairs and parking can be a mission. The staff were wonderful and helpful with taste suggestions. I had the Rosemary bagel and white mocha lavender coffee. Very interesting. I'll definitely go back to try more bagels and drinks.

I really love the setup of the Governor’s Cup cafe, with its old timey feel and two story structure. Their bagels and legitimately good, as is their coffee, although as a self-diagnosed coffee snob, I can’t give 5 stars.Top tier coffee shops know their stuff. They know what coffees are being served, where they’re from, and how they’ve been processed, because this stuff really matters. You don’t go to a wine bar and order “one wine, please!” No. You’d look like a freshly deconverted Mormon or something.A washed coffee and a naturally processed coffee are completely different, in the same way a Pinot Grigio and a Cabernet are completely different. And when I asked if they had any natural coffees at the moment, they stared at me dumbfounded. Not only had they not been asked that question before, they clearly hadn’t been taught the difference, either. So this review is really directed at the owner. You have a roaster in the front of house. You roast IN house. I’m sure you know the different processing types; make sure your staff and your customers know it as well and elevate your game. Or, maybe you’re not that serious about coffee, which is totally fine, because most coffee drinkers aren’t like me. Still, if I’m in the area, I’d go back here. I really enjoyed it.

Good service is guaranteed when the owner is behind the bar.Alyssa has been making the Governor's Cup a popular destination for quiet study like tonight, live music, and coffee for the morning regulars.I hope the downtown businesses keep the Christmas lights up for another month.Parking: not a problem if you walk

Love Gov Cup. Been coming here about 6 years, and always has good energy. That's the main reason I go.

The herb and salt bagel was amazing and so were the workers. The latte was alright, but I wasn’t a fan of their drip coffee. The inside is super interesting and has a nice feel.
