Dr Woodruff was amazing! We're not from Sandy. Our pup was having vision issues. She's the only one to diagnose our dog's symptoms and helped get him on the right track. When we move here, she's going to be our vet! Highly recommend!

I called about getting my kitten spayed and was told there is a mandatory exam. I said sure, paid my 100 fee over the phone and immediately asked after how much having my cat spayed would cost. I was told thats something the doctor for would go over with me. A little unsure of why they don't have a ballpark price we continued to schedule the exam. I show up early and got brought back 20 minutes after my appointment tine to be told that having my cat spayed would cost 1300-1700$ Now I see why they don't disclose the price upfront. Not being transparent about pricing is bad business and they just lost mine.

I have a cat that needed his nails trimmed and some hair shaved off that was matted. So I called Barlow Trail to make an appointment due to the fact my veterinary is now closed. When I called I asked how much it would cost for those 2 services. The lady that answered the phone said she couldn't give me an amount. I asked if she could just guess maybe like $100 $500 $1000 something? She said she couldn't say either way. She then told me that they had to have a $100 deposit to hold the appointment. So I gave her my credit card. They actually put $103 on my credit card. I took my cat in to have those 2 services done. When I was there I was told my cat had to have a physical to be seen. Funny there's no other place that I know of that needs to have a physical to have nails trimmed and a little bit of hair cut off. When the vet looked at my cat she told me he needed some diet food that was $68 for 9lbs. I explained that I had recently lost my husband of 30 plus years so I couldn't afford things that weren't necessary at the time. Then I'm told my cat needed some shots. He's a indoor only cat so I past on the shots. What is so upsetting about this is I asked(more than once) what they would be charging and she couldn't tell me a thing. But when I was done they sure came up with a price for it all. They charged $52.89 to trim nails and $54.55 for 5 minutes of shaving hair. They charged me a told of 10 minutes for shaving which is hard to believe they spent 10 minutes shaving on my cat. They should give their high prices over the phone so people are aware of them and can decide if they can afford their services. They can not say they don't know what they charge for their services cause they absolutely do. That's crazy!!!!

DO NOT RECOMMEND. There are some really great competent veterinarian clinics in the area, save your time and money and skip Barlow Trail. We initially had a good first visit and I actually wrote a stellar review. I was in the office during the visit and while my dog was not loving the exam, I held him and he behaved. Six months later I found out during a routine phone call for a prescription dog food refill (to which they refused to fill) that my dog was no longer welcome on their premise. No one could say why or provide explanation that could help us find different care. I'm not even sure it wasn't a mix up, but they were not friendly about it and there were no discussions to be had on their end. I asked for records and couldn't find anything in those to indicate foul play. I'm blown away by the lack of empathy or compassion they had in communication with me. Hard pass.

Had a terrible experience here when we had to put our cat down. You want this to be a peaceful goodbye and it has always been with the other pets we had. But this vet injected some sort of relaxant first that was so painful to our kitty and she was hissing and struggling. The memory of it is burned on my brain. I was speechless at the time but I called later to say how I hated it and was told I’d need to schedule and pay for time with the vet if I wanted an explanation for why it had to be done that way. In addition they started with all these ridiculous weighing and measuring and recording of her vitals. In our last hour with her. Never again. We switched vets even though we have to drive a lot further.

Nice place, fair prices, very clean. Only thing was that my GF had to use THE LOOK to get their attention. It was a long wait when we were the only ones in the lobby and we had an appointment for 9:30, time passed by 930, 945 still waiting 1000 still we wait. Until about 1015, that's when I notice THE LOOK. Didn't take long and we were being helped. Great vet care. Could have been a 5 star but you got the look so...

I went to Barlow Trail Vet Clinic recently and am so impressed! I did have to wait, but that often happens at any good doctor's office. Dr. Houston did a very thorough exam with each of my pets (an older dog and an older cat). She was kind, caring, compassionate and very knowledgeable. I left with a treatment plan for each of my pets. I really feel Dr. Houston is an incredible vet, and feel my animals are in such good hands. I highly recommend this vet clinic!

We called this clinic bc we knew we had to put our very sick dog down. It was a very hard time for us & it was right as we had our newborn. Dr. Houston, took one look at him & knew he had Kidney cancer/issues. We were devasted but she was so kind/sincere. My husband raved about her. Months past, we never received a call for our paw prints they were supposed to have done & we paid for( before they cremated him. ) The office claimed they must have sent them to there sister clinic. They told me they would get to the bottom of it. I never got a call back & I had to call in yet again, to find out what was going on. When I called in, I was told that I needed to speak to whomever I originally spoke too. They said it was my responsibility to track the prints down myself at the sister clinic. This was a bit frustrating & seemed like poor customer service to have me tracking down info/staff to tell me what happened or didn't, in this case. They sent me on a wild goose chase. I finally got a hold of the lady & she was very kind. She informed me they messed up & at the very least we would get our money back. They, completely on their end, did not mark the box, in order to have our dog prints done. I understand human error & Dr. Houston called us personally to apologize which was nice. She was devastated herself & I know she felt horrible. My dissappointment mostly comes from the majority of the office staff. We had been promised, from both the Dr. & another staff member we'd receive our $50 back (since we didn't receive our service). When I called back in a couple weeks later, The office acted as if they were doing us some grand favor by giving our $ back & it was not easy getting them to agree. I thought they should do a bit more than just refund us our own money & even that was an ordeal. I informed the gal I spoke with that we really wanted to continue to see Dr. Houston & hoped she could care for our other dog. The office refused to help us any further & acted as if we had done something wrong on our end. We were very gracious, extremely kind/understanding, & diplomatic to everyone we spoke with. Especially, considering how upsetting it was not to receive those paw prints to us & mainly our kids. They didn't do much to make their wrong right & seemed like they were disinterested in keeping us as a customer. When I went to pick up the money, the office lady was nice & apologized about the mishap. I appreciated this nicety & wish the management would have shared this sympathy. There had been not much empathy at this point, except from Dr. Houston & a select few office staff members. Dr. Houston is a keeper but this place definitely isnt!! There idea of customer service is beyond strange & disappointing.
