Mechanics here overfilled oil by two quarts. Discovered after misfires, blue smoke and poor engine preformance. We advise against an oil change from Jiffy Lube.

My parents brought a vehicle here for an oil change on Friday May 3rd, 2024. They just purchased this vehicle used earlier the same week. Their dipstick was broken, so jiffy lube sold them a new one, and did the oil change. Jiffy Lube in Sandy OVER FILLED the engine oil, resulting in THICK white smoke pouring out of the exhaust upon start up when my mom went to leave with her vehicle. Jiffy lube employees did not give her a second look or show any concern and told her she had bought a lemon, and to take it back to the dealer. After costly repairs and diagnosis from Bills automotive in sandy, confirming that Jiffy lube sold my parents the wrong size dipstick and the engine oil was overfilled by nearly twice as much oil as it should have in it! My dad is a very patient man and has been trying to handle this professionally with management and corporate but he is being passed around from one contact to another without being given so much as an ounce of reassurance or peace of mind that they will take action in reimbursing my parents for the ordeal. This company is ridiculous. This can’t be the first time this has happened to a customer from an employees carelessness and unwillingness to check their own work. If my father is not contacted back and given an update on this situation, further action will be taken. Next steps will be contacting the FTC and BBB.

After we dropped off the car, the staff called complaining that it would take an hour to change the oil because of the skid plate. We requested that all the fluids be topped off for a road trip, they didn't, and only added transmission fluid when we reminded them at pickup. On the way home, the low coolant light came on. The next day, ten miles into our trip, the skid plate came loose on the highway, losing one part of it, and causing a great deal of stress to safely get off the highway to have it reattached, also costing us over an hour to get back on the road. We are furious, and will never return to a jiffy lube again.

Very friendly techs. A filter was trashed that we did not know existed! Replaced it. Other places never checked.
Appreciate this extra attention.
This was an older used car we just bought. Told the tech this
and he said they would give it an extra close check.

Came in for unnecessary oil change and they let me know I wasnt due yet and simply added oil to required level. Appearantly I have a leak, and am so glad they let me know so I can keep an eye on it and see about getting it fixed.
