CHERYL WIDEMAN is the owner of this establishment. I had to find out who this entitled and disgusting person was before I wrote this review. I am a 3rd generation seaside local. I’m a business owner of 14 years and I am deeply involved in teaching and coaching the Seaside youth in my community. I took some of my visiting family to this business. CHERYL WIDEMAN was rude to everyone in my family. She would not talk to some of my younger nieces and nephews that were just asking questions about some of their produce. As I left I told CHERYL WIDEMAN that she doesn’t need to treat others with such disrespect. Her reply was simply F-OFF! We don’t need business owners in our community like this. I’m sharing my experience to all of my friends, co-worker, and other local business owners in Seaside.

What a gem of a shop!!!! As we were walking by we saw a cute little purse embroidered with a fox (my niece's favourite animal). We went in to buy it, and found one with a Llama (my OTHER niece's favourite animal). But shoot...there was no Owl purse for the third niece!!!! Not to disappoint, the staff checked their supply and found an owl purse hidden in the back. I can't WAIT for Christmas to give these gifts to my nieces. The staff was so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. I'm over the moon happy with the purchases I have from here, and I am very pleased. Thank you so much for going out of your way to help us find the Owl!!!

Neat stuff, overpriced but typical for a tourist town. Doesn't open on time.

The store owner lost a potential customer because they were rude because they made us move because we were looking at an item deciding to buy it but they told us to move and we didn't go back.

Went in today while visiting Seaside. The owner was running the shop and was super sweet and I loved the store! Prices are very fair and items are unique.

Trading with a trusted account manager is what can make your dreams come through. For me Mrs. Susan Ryan has the best trading strategies to win. I never believed on any post recommending online trading until I gave a try and the outcome was great for me. Making $12,500 out of $600 was a whole lot of profit for me. Thank me later you can contact her via; WhatsApp number: +13523292265 Email:

If I could give it no stars I would! The elderly woman working was so rude and mean! I was standing in front of her shop door and she opened it and hit me with it and asked me to move while I was tending to small nephew!

Every single time we are in town it's a MUST to stop in! I'm not sure how many gorgeous items we've gotten over the years and we've only ever gotten 5 star service, we've been treated like royalty. The staff and management is spectacular, always pleasant. One visit as we drove into town, our engine blew a piston, the sales associate went out of her way to help us find local connections. We have been thoroughly pleased with The Purple Pelican and will ALWAYS stop in and toss our money their well deserved direction. Not only are their items gorgeous and unique (make fabulous gifts), we have an amazing collection of items that span our vacations over the last 20+ years. I can't say enough wonderful things about this business....absolutely impressed every single time!!! Definitely highly recommend!!!

While shopping in this store, the owner of the store yelled at my sister for her face covering not being tight enough. When my sister said that she would leave, the woman went on about her preexisting health conditions. I said that maybe she shouldn't work with the public right now, and she yelled at me and then hid in the back. I stood at the counter until she returned and made her say what she said to me as she was scurrying off to the back like the rat she is. Horrible customer service.

grumpy owner who think she owns the sidewalk completely around her store. of you dont want traffic infront of your store dont get a spot on the main strip of a beach town. aside from that product looked over priced and chintzy

I wear essential oils due to pain and I have used them for years. I walked by the store and saw an item I wanted to buy. I went over to the only staff at the store to ask a question. After she answered my question with a sour face, I turned to look at the item I wanted. She then proceeded to tell me my perfume was too strong and I had to leave. NEVER has anyone told me before that the smell of the oils bothered them. But to kick a customer out for that? I'm sorry she was sensitive to it and I left. I had put the oils on hours ago and the smell deteriorates quickly. I wonder how many more customers she has kicked out and lost sales over. If she is that sensitive to smells I think this is not the best place for her to work.

I was just looking in the window of this business wanting to go in and check out the glass sold inside. As my family and I were standing outside of this business, the owner opened the door onto the stroller of our daughter. When I commented back she stood there arguing with me. A business owner shouldn't stand outside the business arguing with a customer. Especially after she opened the door onto our stroller. She said excuse me, apparently, we obviously didn't hear. Then proceeded to stand there arguing with us and starring at us with anger. Shame on her! Maybe in the future she could wait a couple of minutes to open her door or say it a little louder. As a business owners it's tacky and unprofessional to stand in front of your business arguing with a customer you just hit their child's stroller with your door. A simple apology would have ended it. I wouldn't support or shop at this local business in fear I don't know what kind of treatment I'd receive. I'll definitely let my friends and family know of this unprofessional business.
