PROS: Staff nice. Friendly check-in process. Rooms are nicely decorated. Location is convenient to eateries (most within walking distance). CONS (basic room/2-night reservation): Hardwood floors dirty (can feel/picked up sand/dirt on feet), window air conditioner is in "bathroom" and is VERY small (temps in Shady Cove during stay was high 90's, AC air flow doesnt reach into main room, unbearable heat hampering sleep), no hair dryer, no soap/gel for shower (you use same little soap bar for sink and shower), shower VERY small 30"x30" (shower door leaks ... significant amount of water on bathroom floor), TV display cut off both ends of picture (4:3 display instead of 16:9), noise (woke up 7:30am to sound of power saw, hammer, etc near office - not sure why if you know construction taking place, you wouldn't assign room farthest away from where contruction going to occur). CONCLUSION: I ended up not staying the second night as I could not sleep due to how hot the room was. I just drove home for 8 hours in the wee hours of the morning just to enjoy the AC in my car. I travel extensively, and this hotel is in my top 3 worst. I cannot recommed it.

Not as bad as I expected. But still be cautious
Rooms: Rooms are okay remember to not use the decorative pillows and pull back the first layer on the bed because those both aren't washed often
Nearby activities: An deck and an designated smoking area outdoors
Safety: No suspicious activity seen but be cautious as usual
Walkability: An flat gravel road for easy access to all facilities
Food and drinks: A few restaurants less then an mile away
Noteworthy details: Log cabin like design.

It was our anniversary. Last minute we decided on an area near Crater lake and happened upon Shady Cove and Riverfront lodging. The goal was something romantic by the water and somewhat rural. Booked online and entered we would check in at 9 pm.Nice lady called me during our 5 hour drive there to let me know she was going home and would hide my key. I knew they had remodeled most of the hotel and found out later all but 1-7 have been re-done. When we arrived I was so happy to see the deck out front and then I opened the door. You could see straight through the clean and comfortable room out the back slider to the river.Perfect! It had a microwave and fridge and a newer kurig coffee machine. The faucet on the sink glows so that made brushing my teeth fun. Haha. Internet was spotty but we wanted rural so it didn't bother me. And to be fair I never logged into their Wi-Fi. We enjoyed our stay very much. Last note, after chatting with the manager, she would pick room 10, but this is not a river room. She said it was like a 2 bedroom apartment. So if your a group, that would be the way to go. Our river room 20 appeared to connect to river room 19 if needed. But I am not sure. Epic stay in a perfectly sleepy town.

This is the vanwicklin party and everyone out there that wrote a bad review , if the owner really cared like he says in our response that staying there was a absolute nightmare, not once did he offer us or you I'm sure a refund!!! And the girl he said he fired the next day is his girlfriend!!! HUH ???

Personally would not recommend this place if you are traveling with a pet. My sister called in to make a reservation for a pet friendly room, and not once was a weight restriction mentioned to her. I was looking at the place on line later and saw it had a weight limit posted for 20 lbs. I called in to see if my 30lb dog was going to be an issue. I didn't think it would be a problem since they didn't bother saying anything when we made the reservation, but wanted to double check since we were driving 5+ hours to this place. I was told they would speak to the owner and get back to me. I never heard back from them, but that's ok I just called them again the next day. I was told the owner would at the max allow up to 25 lbs. So basically my extremely quiet and well-behaved dog was turned away for being 5 lbs too heavy. The thing that really upsets me is that they made the reservation without mentioning the weight restriction. What would have happened if we had arrived there after the 5+ hour drive we made? Turned away at the door for my dog being 5 lbs too heavy? Anyways glad I checked, as we are now booked somewhere that is actually pet friendly down the road.

Delightful getaway location. Beautiful Rogue River view. Spotlessly clean room. Wonderful management. Thanks Melinda for making our visit perfect.Rooms: The rooms are clean and updated.Walkability: There are restaurants and shops all within walking distance. The highway has several lighted crosswalks for added safety.

It was one of the worst experiences I've had in all of my experiences staying at motels! From finding a used condum left in the room, the bathtub not holding water to take a bath, the refrigerator making so much noise we had to unplug it and our T.V. went out early in the evening! But the worst part???? It was our anniversary!!!!

Loving everything ❤️ about being here: the room, bed, small ice box, patio over the river, small quaint stores, etc. Come and enjoy. Oh yes, there's a great restaurant next door.

We loved this place! Our original plan fell through but am glad that we found this place which worked out better all around for our day at Crater Lake National Park. It was great, clean, relaxing, and staff were friendly and helpful. Mac’s Diner next door is a real great place too! Highly recommend this place to stay.
