On 5/1/2020 I shopped at Home Depot Sherwood. No employees were wearing masks nor were the shoppers. The carts were not being disinfected. It clearly is not not important to Home Depot or their reputation.

This review is about my experience with remodeling our kitchen. First, after paying for the cabinets, our installation date somehow got cancelled so when the day I scheduled came, I hadn't received any conformation call about the time. I called Home Depot, who said I wasn't on the schedule; fortunately the cabinet installer was able to get me in the next day because my husband had just spent 4 days on his vacation demolishing the kitchen and had no kitchen sink. I asked HD why this happened and she said it's usually because they're waiting for the customer to decide on something. That was complete garbage; I paid for the cabinets in store and scheduled the install at the same time! There was no apology whatsoever. Secondly, during the measurements for the countertop, I was informed that the HD person who did the cabinet measurements was off by 10 square ft! That made the quote I got from HD way wrong; I was then informed by the countertop company (Precision) that it was going to cost an additional $950! (not Precision's fault) I decided I didn't want to give HD any more of my money and proceeded to switch to Costco's service. When HD found out a week later (not my fault), the designer calls in a panic; she proceeds to inform me that her new updated quote was only $300 higher. I'm thinking, that's great, we just signed up for Costco's program, which is the same as going with the $950 with HD. Now I was locked into a deal with Costco I couldn't get out of and am now spending that extra money for no reason. The designer asked me twice (!) if I could get out of it instead of apologizing for the whole fiasco. When I told her I was going through Costco, who uses Cambria counters, she exclaimed, "You went with Cambria?!" in this snotty, condescending voice. I also told her Costco offers 12 months same-as cash, after which she snottily said, "Didn't you know we have the same deal?!" I'm thinking, 'Well, no I didn't, thanks for telling me at the store!' (instead, we went with an expensive 7.99% Home Depot loan) At one point she sheepishly mumbled that my original designer was on vacation and she didn't know she was supposed to take over his work. That sounds like crap to me; she is the only designer there besides ours, so all of his work is just going to sit there for a week? Fortunately we got our money back right away, but I'm really vexed that there wasn't a single apology for any of this; only rudeness and unprofessional behavior, that which I have never experienced from a business. Not only that, our original designer hasn't even called to apologize and he's the one who cancelled our order! I must say that I am now glad we're going through Costco because they add an additional life-time warranty on top of Cambria's warranty, we're getting thicker quartz (HD - 1/4" vs Cambria - 3/4"), and their finance deal (which includes a $580 cash card rebate, which I can put towards the loan). The whole reason I went through HD in the first place was because I wanted one source to take care of everything instead of my having to pick contractors, get a loan from the bank, etc. Never again!

Not a fan of Home Depot anymore. I worked for them for 13 years and watched the company core values change where the customer no longer comes first. When was the last time you were in a Home Depot and greeted by a knowledgeable employee who went above and beyond to help you with your project? Or walked you to the correct isle and helped you find what you were looking for? Now its a lot of finger pointing followed up with robotic mumbling like some response from Charlie Browns teacher whaa whaaa whaaa whaaa ... The good employee's are gone and now the positions are filled with part time minimum hour employee's who put their lunch breaks first and not the customer

Rediculuous! Not one check out opened. Had to self check with full cart of hardware and lumber. What a joke. I remember when Home Depot first opened. They actually cared about customers then! Shop elsewhere if possible..,

A bit of a back story. I have NO CLUE what I'm doing. I have a remodel project that has required way too many trips to good ol' HD. Mostly preventable (my own doing), Several wrong purchases, because sometimes I get tired of hearing myself ask questions and when they ask "are you finding everything ok?" I lie my a** off and say "yeah I'm good!! Thank you!!" resulting in returns. EVERY time I've been to this store I've worked with someone who has made me feel like no question was silly and has been unbelievably knowledgeable. Terrie in Customer service is so helpful. always wearing a smile when I see her. Mike who has helped me with my returns didnt mind my bad jokes and made the process super easy. Michelle at the self checkout is also always wearing a smile AND She hasnt kicked me out of the self checkout line even though she has to help me Every. Single. Time. Jim in Electrical, hes a genius. Our electrical inspection is Monday and I'm so proud of the work we did with his guidance. Today was the most recent visit. I woke up and decided I bit off more than I could chew ripping down a few plywood sheets that I had purchased so I loaded them up and took them back to the store to beg for their help. I didnt even have to beg!!!! They were so understanding and didnt make me feel like an inconvenience. Josh and Johnny in lumber. You two are a magical duo!!! Thank you so much for helping me out! I hate the fact that you wouldnt let me sneak you a tip but I SO appreciate both of you. ALL OF YOU!!! Which, by the way, Home Depot...knock it off. I will never get to help these people like they have helped me. Allow your employees to accept monetary appreciation!!!! Thanks for going on my word journey. Haha. Long story short, I've been to about a dozen home depot's over the years and his crew makes the Sherwood store my favorite, by far.

This particular store is only partly to blame for my ongoing frustration with some Black Friday deals from last Thanksgiving. I placed an order on 11/29/18 it wasn't delivered until 12/29/18 (Double the original delivery date). Whatever, it was okay. They showed up and installed the fridge, but wouldn't install the dishwasher. They said that the shut-off valve was leaking. They placed it in the garage and said they'd come back and install when I fixed the valve. I was finally able to replace the leaky valve. I called the installer and they came back. They took the bottom plate off of the old dishwasher and then suddenly decided that the new one wouldn't fit. I had checked the specs and had ordered one with the SAME MEASUREMENTS to make sure it fit. Yet they told me they couldn't even try to install it. They said I must have installed the tile floor after the Dishwasher was installed, but that is wrong, I told them it came with the house and the Dishwasher was the second one we've had. They wouldn't budge. They flat out refused and then proceeded to offer us recommendations for a contractor to install the dishwasher. So after almost three months we still don't have a new dishwasher. I contacted Home Depot support chat and they told me they would have the manager of the Sherwood store call me so I could discuss my options. THE CALL NEVER CAME. So for that I definitely blame the Sherwood store.

I had an absolutely wonderfully experience with Jamie in the lumber department. She helped me sort though over 100 pieces of trim to look for my specific one. Once we realized that it was no longer in stock at that store she called 5 other home depots looking for it. Not only did she check if the other stores had it in stock according to their inventory, but had them physically look in the shelf for the trim. Unfortunately the nearest store that now carries the trim that I need to finish just one room of my house is in Salem. But Jaime went above and beyond to help us find our trim, truly great full.

Worst customer service at this location! After sorting through chewed up moldy lumber for 20 minutes I asked an associate if he could pull the next stack of lumber down and he said no there's too many on the current rack. So I decided to go through the stack of lumber that was slightly longer and while doing that approximately eight associates walked past me while I was standing on a rolling cart shuffling through lumber. None of them offered me any assistance or offered me an alternative to a rolling unstable cart. Some older associate in a fedora actually stared at me for about 10 minutes. Clearly the manager and her associates at this Home Depot do not care about the safety of their customers. What a joke!

Generally for the most part they usually have everything I need. I'm closer to ace hardware is progress ridge, but their selection is obviously a quarter of the size of home depots. Lines can get crazy here. However I'm happy to have noticed that they updated their self checkout process. They now have individual scanners which works excellent for large items that are hard to lift and scan the barcode. Maybe it will make things faster.

After four decades of supporting Home Depot, I threw in the towel last fall when Home Depot demonstrated a high tolerance of violence (from a male employee out of control). Looking at the hundreds of dissatisfied customers(who spend their hard earned dollars, without a responsible or professional return from HD), I decided to try something new. I am in the beginnings of a total remodel and dreaded the anticipation of lousy customer service, poor quality product, with corporate abandon , disgraceful delivery and the many issues Home Depot is very well known for. I did a return to THE FAMILY RUN OREGON BUSINESSES! WOW, it is the silver lining in the unacceptable manner Home Depot dealt with my well grounded issue. I got my bathroom things(TUB, TOILET AND VANITY) at George Morlan. Not only did they go the extra mile with product quality, delivery was SO amazing and on time. In fact, they arranged it to support my schedule. Standard appliance delivered the washer and dryer and some of the kitchen appliances. I got professional help that made me realize how poorly trained many HD employees are. The delivery was a dream, so professional! Shur-way , Ace hardware, and a few other local stores were great for hardware. Discount window gives quality ON TIME services, and they have the same window and door models, at much better prices than HD. Parr Lumber delivered all my deck wood and wood for rebuilding FREE and took back all not used. The manager even came to my home to see am impasse I had and helped with a solution! Portland has a goldmine of wonderful family run businesses that are willing to give 100% to customers. I suggest everyone give these businesses a try and compare to HD (who thinks all of us are stuck with them and they can treat customers the lousy way they do) There is a site that people list all monies taken elsewhere than HD. It is significant. So all of you who may feel angry and helpless with this unacceptable corporation, there are alternatives.
