Welcoming a dog into your family can be one of the most joyful and fulfilling experiences but it can also be frustrating, exhausting, and difficult. Having someone to guide you through the hard parts can make it easier and ensure the journey is much more positive. Kelsey is an outstanding teacher to help make the whole process of integrating your dog into your life and home a much smoother ride!
Kelsey's knowledge and expertise are exceptional and only rivaled by her compassion and caring. She is equally patient with both the animals and their owners during the whole process; extending grace and understanding to ensure that progress towards your goals is the focus, not setbacks or mistakes. She is prompt to respond to messages and communicates clearly.
Kelsey's enthusiasm and love of animals is clear and shines through in all her interactions. She maintains a clear focus on the safety and well being of the whole animal, including their psychological and emotional health.
I could go on for a very long time about the ways that my relationship with my dog has benefited by Kelsey's guidance, she's been an indispensable part of our puppy's development. If I had to find something to critique about her services, it would be that sometimes I could benefit from clarity about what would best benefit my dog, like when would a training walk be appropriate and how frequently?
If you are getting a new puppy, welcoming a rescue, or just have run into some issues with your family pet, then I would highly recommend working with Kelsey.

Kelsey has literally changed the trajectory of our life with our puppy in such positive ways! We are so grateful and we are all less stressed and happier! Our dog started out so fearful, anxious and reactive. She has come a long way and is so much more comfortable with the world around her. Kelsey has taught us from the very beginning that it’s about understanding and respecting our dog and all her needs; which creates a strong bond and foundation for our pup to learn how to navigate in this world with our help. Kelsey has so much knowledge and experience…scientific research and dog psychology; but most of all she has a huge heart and a lovely sense of humor. She has a deep understanding of dogs and their body language and behavior. We can’t believe how lucky we were to find Kelsey, and Pawsitively Trained. Thank you!

Kelsey has been a very welcome addition to our lives. We have a very reactive puppy/adolescent who wasn't comfortable in her own skin. We first went to puppy training and have used the videos and group sessions to learn more about what it really means to have a dog. We really love that we can schedule private time with her as we see fit and without any commitments. She teaches us (yes, it's us she's really teaching) in a relaxed but very efficient/effective manner. The atmosphere is always positive both towards us and our puppy. She is also very willing to point us to other professionals who can/have helped us make our dog (and therefore our) life better. We now have a dog that we can really enjoy thanks to Kelsey.

Classic bait and switch. The owner said I owed 2k after training for a week after I complained that my dog had leash burn all over her neck. BEWARE, DO NOT GO HERE!

We are so grateful to have found Kelsey! We have been working with Kelsey since our rescue puppy, Maverick, was 9 weeks old. He is now 5 months old! From her offerings, we chose private virtual sessions, the bimonthly puppy afterschool sessions and signed up for her membership which gives us great training videos and access to the monthly meet ups as well as the monthly q&a. I highly suggest the private virtual sessions, they were a game changer for us.Kelsey is an AMAZING positive reinforcement trainer. I would give her more than 5 stars, and think everyone could benefit from working with her - especially anyone with a puppy! She has a wealth of knowledge in dog behavior and focuses first and foremost in this area. Her training videos and 1:1 direction literally, and I mean literally, helped me so much during some really challenging moments with Maverick. She also took the time to give us tips and ideas between sessions. I was sure we had the bitiest puppy that ever lived..he was literally a little shark running mouth first! Let’s just say that Kelsey went above and beyond to help us here. Setting Maverick up with the right foundation through Kelsey’s guidance has made all the difference and he’s thriving today. He does great with other dogs, kids, adults. Next step, trying to get our cat to love him as much as we do! Thank you Kelsey, you ROCK!

I have been meaning to write this review for a while! Kelsey is an incredible human - she is passionate about what she does (and amazing at it) and she is generous with her time. Whether you're looking for ways to correct undesirable behavior or trying to help your dog be as well rounded as possible, she's got you covered. Her methods are 100% force free. I have had dogs my whole life and didn't realize I had quite a bit more to learn about mental and physical balance. This community is so fortunate to have Kelsey!

I cannot say enough good things about Jessica and her training methods. We had her work with our Belgian Malinois / Great Pyrenees mix from 4-6 months old (4 sessions) and her enthusiasm with him, and her professionalism with us was amazing. She did more to train US and our little girl than our dog, and that is where the success comes in. She was up front with us about what it takes to train a puppy, and it paid off in spades. She was able to adjust her training methods to our needs (coaching us vs/ coaching our 9 year old daughter), and our pup (now a year old) is well mannered and responsive, and that is strictly due to the lessons we all had with Jessica. 10/10 would recommend for puppy training, new dog owner training, and also training the kids how to interact positively with dogs. Definitely going to be hiring her again for more advanced training in the future.

Kelsey is such a knowledgeable trainer. She makes herself available and is dedicated to educating owners. Her positive training techniques are so natural and really stress cooperation. We've seen excellent progress and plan to continue our training with her. Highly recommended.

Kelsey is great to work with, positive and professional! We took the online puppy pre-k and the 101 and 201 in person courses. Both were excellent! I loved that we had the videos to refer back to with both versions! Kelsey's lessons are always positive- focused and she breaks down all the behaviors you want into easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions. She's always there to help trouble shoot along the way. And to top it off, she's funny! She's also willing to have kids participate in the training lessons.

My Great Pyr and I did four private lessons with Kelsey over the course of six months and the results have been truly life changing. Our Pyr has not only become more obedient, but she is less anxious and more loving.
